ITunes playlist from iTunes U media?

Is there a way to make an iTunes playlist from the media in one of my Collections?

I would first change the itunes media folder location from the default location to where the music is located, that's in preferences> Advanced.  I would also uncheck keep itunes media folder organized and copy files to media folder when adding (temporarily)
Now I would import the playlists.  Itunes will know where the music files are location and they will play.

can anyone tell me how to get the playlist I created in my windows media player to sync into my creative zen ?

I don't think you can. Since they use different type of format for the playlist files. Just make a new one with the programs that came with ur zen.

Hello and welcome to the support community
As you know, your iPhone 5 is not compatible with our iBook G4. To get your music in iTunes from your iBook to your iPhone you would need to migrate the music files to a newer intel based Mac. A Mac which has Mac OS X 10.6 or higher installed. Then sync your iPhone 5.

I want to put a playlist from wmp on to itunes

I can't see a way to export M3U playlists from WMP or import WPL playlists into iTunes. I could probably write a script to import directly from the WPL, but there is no point reinventing the wheel if this works for you: http://sourceforge.net/projects/wplm3uconvert/

  • How do I manually move a playlist from new iTunes to ipod classic?

My iTunes just updated itself. Now the screen looks totally different. I want to manually move a playlist from the new iTunes to my iPod classic. It worked perfectly yesterday, but now that that the iTunes updated, the page doesn't show my iPod so I can't manually move the playlist to the iPod.

    Hi Carol,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you're running into an issue syncing music to your iPod classic since updating iTunes because of the way it looks now. You can make iTunes look more like the previous version by showing the Sidebar, as described in the article below.
iTunes 11 for Windows: Customize the iTunes window
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12364
    Choose View > Show Sidebar.
The Sidebar replaces the Library menu, the Devices button, and the iTunes Store button. To return to the default view, choose View > Hide Sidebar.
And, this article provides a detailed walkthrough for syncing content to your iPod.

    I hope this helps.

  • HT1152 Error 4310 when trying to burn a playlist from iTunes.

I have done all the troubleshooting set forth in the prior discussions, including burning the same playlist via Windows a Media Player.  But still no luck burning it from iTunes.  I am using Windows 8.  It seems that may be the problem.  If there is some compatibility issue with Windows 8 and iTunes then Apple needs to be aware.  Please fix.  I need this feature and would prefer not to have to keep creating the same playlists in a Windows Media Player to be able to burn them.

Hello, I gave up on Win 8, the only worse OS than OSX 10.7 or 10.9, but might try reposting over here!

how do i transfer my itunesw playlist from one computer to another

Jolly Giant hasn't posted in around a year...
These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have failed to move contacts and calendar items across you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should  merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

  • How do I move all my itunes playlists from an old Dell desktop to a Dell laptop without losing anything?

My Dell desktop is on its last legs and I need to transfer all itunes playlists from it to my Dell laptop. Please help

Yes I copied the itunes folder. Before I copied it I opened up to see what was in it: album artwork, itunes, itunes media, previous itunes libraries, itunes library extras, itunes library genius, itunes library, itunes music library. After copying and pasting the itunes folder I checked my new laptop and the same files listed above copied over.
When I drill down the itunes folder to the music, it's on my new laptop. When I open itunes and click on playlists, I only have the music that I purchased from itunes. It does not include everything else I loaded into itunes and any other playlists I created.

  • How do i transfer itunes playlists from one computer to another?

My old PC with Windows XP and iTunes died for good. Luckily library and playlists were save on and external hard drive shortly before. My newer Dell vostro 1520 laptop has Windows 7 and wish to instal my playlists from my external hard drive into a new iTunes 11.1.5.5. The library is too large to hold on the computer so must remain on my external drive and I've made the link in preferences. The iTunes I was using when I saved it was an older version (if there is a way to find out from the files I haven't found it). I wish to know how to transfer my extensive number of playlists, folders, and track allotment and order from my external drive to my Dell. I could experiment with moving the playlist folder but I have the knack for screwing up my system and that I would like to avoid.

Here are typical layouts for the iTunes folders:
Since things are already broken it might be best to create this layout first then use FindTracks to repair things. Ideally you would have a complete clone of the library on a second drive as a backup. You would have the library folder at the root of the drive and the media folder inside it. Connect to the library by shift-starting iTunes. If everything is in the normal layout iTunes may be able to heal itself if you attempt to get info and locate a missing file when prompted. Otherwise you would direct the script to start its search from ..\iTunes\iTunes Media.

You create the playlist on the other computer which may require moving or copying of the media from the first computer to the second computer.

  • I have tried importing / exporting my playlist from itunes; dragging songs from itunes to my ipod icon in the right corner; nothing is working.  I want to put songs back on my ipod touch version 6.1.5 from itunes version 11.1.3.8; any one have any ideas

This is very fustrating I have tried a few different things I have seen on-line and nothing is working.  My itunes is version 11.1.3.8 and my ipod touch is ios version 6.1.5.  Since last Christmas I have a playlist called Christmas songs and I would like to move the songs back onto my ipod.  Before I could drag the songs from under the songs list over to the right and a list including my ipod would show.  It still does but when I do it now the songs do not show up in my ipod.  I would appreciate any ideas to get this to work again.

Verify you have the right boxex checked to sync
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Restore from backup. See:

      - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Is it possible to consolidate a playlist from iTunes into its own folder?

    Hi,
I'm trying to move a playlist from my iTunes to my new phone.  The playlist is 2,400 songs, out of my total library which contains about 5,000.  The problem I'm encountering is that I independently downloaded much of my music, (i.e. mix tapes or free albums given away online), and therefore was not purchased through iTunes.  I tried to consolidate the files for the playlist but now my iTunes media folder is a giant unorganized mess.
Does anyone have any advice or ideas as far as isolating the songs that I actually want to put on my android based phone?
    Thank you in advance!

"You should be able to drag & drop a playlist out to a new empty folder stored outside of your iTunes Media folder"
Ah, I never knew about that .  From a quick test you can drop and drop the contents of the playlist, not the playlist itself as listed in the sidebar.

By design, the organizer (and any other database management systems) is there to prevent you from duplicating your media files. The catalog management allows you to have the same image in different categories or albums. Duplication in different folders is to be absolutely avoided.
The same image file can have multiple tags like 'family', 'vacations', 'birthdays' and be present in three different albums with the same names. On obvious advantage is less disk space. Another one with your present folder system is that if you edit one of your duplicates, the other ones are unchanged.
I don't see an easy way to make your present folder structure simplified for the organizer ...
