ITunes playlist - Muvo NX (mp3 on

I use iTunes to organize my mp3 files. What's the easiest way to copy all the songs in an iTunes playlist to my Muvo?
Right now, I have to manually go find each file and copy it, which takes forever. Has anybody made a utility that will do that automatically?
Better yet, since I use my Muvo for the gym, I'd like it to do what the iPod Shuffle does: just fill itself up with a random selection of tracks from my "workout" playlist. (The playlist is too big to fit in 256MB.) Any ideas?

Answered my own question:
In iTunes (4.6, Windows) open the playlist. Then just drag & drop the songs you want to the Muvo. Not quite automatic, but sure beats finding each file one at a time.

iTunes 10.6.3 keeps generating incomplete downloads AND it rearranges the order of the playlist when I burn a playlist to an mp3 cd.
I purchased an album on iTues from my MAC book Pro & the song downloads were incomplete. The song length shows correctly in the column, but they cut off between 1/4 & 1/2 way through the songs. Now, I dwonloaded it on my iPhone 4 through my itunes account after the purchase & the songs play fine. This happened with the very next song I purchased, as well.
I got around this issue, then created mp3 versions of all the songs, put them in their own playlist, then "Burned an mp3 disc." When it completed, the songs were in a different order.
Are there any fixes for either of these problems/bugs?

  • HT1727 how do i transfer itunes playlists on my mac to a thumb drive to use in my car       e in my car?

How do i transfer itunes playlists and/or individual songs onto a thumb drive on my apple desktop computer -- I want to play the songs in my car which requires the thumb drive.  thanks

Easily done.  Insert the flash drive into your computer, and open it so it looks like a folder.  In iTunes, highlight the tracks you want (or use CTRL+A to highlight an entire list at once) and drag them into that open folder.
If you normally run iTunes in full-screen mode, make it smaller so that you can do the drag.
The only complication may be the format.  Many iTunes users use AAC format, which is rejected by many car players.  If that is an issue, you can first use iTunes to convert the songs to the more convenient MP3 format, by this guide:

  • Can I export iTunes files in an MP3 format to a thumb drive so that I can play them on my car stereo?

Is this even possible?  I know dragging and dropping the items from iTunes onto the drive doesn't work.  Anybody know if/how it can be done?
    Thanks.

Some corrections needed (but I use an older iTunes and no longer bother to try to keep up with newer versions or Apple doings):
Unless Apple has changed things back to the way they were 5 years ago, your music purchases are DRM free and you can now convert AAC to MP3 within iTunes (unless your files are from DRM days).
Again unless Apple has changed things, creating mp3s from AAC files in iTunes will not replace the AAC.  It will create new files (make sure iTunes preferences are set to create mp3).  In iTunes you have to display the "kind" column to distinguish because your AAC original and mp3 copy will appear as duplicates since they will have similar tags.
You say dragging doesn't work.  Please clarify. No files copy?  The files copy but won't play?  Dragging from an iTunes playlist to a drive will normally copy files (it does with iTunes 7.5) unless the drive is locked.  Files will not play if your car doesn't support the file format you try (dragging AAC files will put AAC on the drive which is still not universally supported), or if you format your drive to an unsupported format.  That should be specified by your car's player but likely will not support Mac formatted drives and you should probably leave the FAT32 format that many drives comes as.  If you formatted to Mac then you should reformat the flash drive back to DOS.

  • How can I transfer a Playlist to my mp3 player?

i have a cheap little mp3 player (Jensen), and i want to transfer an iTunes playlist (all my iTunes songs are already in mp3 format, btw) to the player. however, i can't click and drag a playlist to the mp3 player directly. the mp3 player instructions say to go to my iTunes music library (via Finder) and drag to the mp3 player.
but in the Library, my playlists don't show up.
if there was a way to have my playlists appear in Library, that would fix it. can this be done?
    thx!

thank you, chris. cool, that works for the most part -- works well enough, anyway. it's a bit odd in that it won't transfer a big playlist (like 40 songs), but i just broke up the drags into segments. cool. it didn't retain the same order as my playlist, but who knows, might be my mp3 player (cheap thing, get what ya pay for...).
    thx.

Hello, I am a techno-dullard and would like to know how to download my iTunes playlist to my iPad2?

connect your Ipad to your Mac, choose MUSIC under your tabs at the top, drag and drop your MP3 music and press SYNC at the bottom to move songs to your Ipad
You have to select the songs in the Music Tab of iTunes when your iPad is connected to your laptop, with iTunes running and after you have selected (clicked on) your iPad name under the devices heading. This will give you an overview of the syncing process.

  • Adding iTunes playlist as separate file in iDVD

I am creating a DVD using video created in iMovie. In addition to the movie, I would like to include a separate file of the music (something like a soundtrack in the form of an iTunes playlist) that can be accessed through the main menu. I have not been able to find an answer in iDVD Help.
How about adding a folder of the photos that were used to make the movie/slideshow?
Can either of these be done?

You can add music files to the DVD-Rom section of the Dvd but you won't be able to access the files unless it's from a computer (since the dvd rom section isn't readable on most set top dvd players).
You can add audio to slideshows ie "Fit Slides to Audio" or you can add audio as a separate track within the video editing application (iMovie). However, iDvd wasn't really designed as a video editing app (apple leaves this function to apps like i-Movie, FCP, FCE, etc.)
Essentially, iDvd is to iMovie what the candy wrapper is to a chocolate bar. It's simply the exterior packaging of the movie you made in iMovie or FCP.
frankly I normally use a CD for all audio files (that or an iPod). But if you want to write audio files to a Dvd then consider an app like Roxio toast and make an audio disc.
An audio disc is a CD or DVD that contains audio files. Audio discs are meant to be played in a home or car stereo, in a set-top DVD player, and can also be used in a Macintosh or Windows computer.
or select from these types of audio disc
    Types of Audio Discs:
Toast can create many kinds of audio discs - more than any other Mac burning software.
    • Audio CD: This CD can be played in most home or car stereo CD players, set-top DVD players, and computers. This is similar to a standard commercial CD you can purchase in music stores. This is the best choice for playback in a CD player. See Making an Audio CD.
    • Music DVD: This DVD can be played in a set-top DVD player or in a Macintosh or a Windows computer with a DVD player. A music DVD can contain over 50 hours of music and has full navigation menus for song selection. This is the best choice for playback in a DVD player. See Making a Music DVD.
    • MP3 Disc: This CD or DVD can be played in home or car stereo MP3 disc players, some set-top DVD players, and most Macintosh and Windows computers. MP3 discs have longer playing times than audio CDs but their playback is less universal. See Making an MP3 Disc.
    • Enhanced Audio CD: This CD can be played in a home or car stereo CD player. It contains additional data content, which is accessible in a Macintosh or Windows computer. See Making an Enhanced Audio CD.
    • Mixed Mode CD: This CD can be played in a Macintosh or Windows computer. It offers playback compatibility with older CD-ROM players and is rarely used. Enhanced Audio CD is a better choice for this type of disc. See Making a Mixed Mode CD.

  • Export songs in an iTunes playlist

I would like to burn MP3 CDs to listen in my car. The songs that I like to listen are mostly in the playlists in my iTunes library, in which all my songs are in AIFF format. I can certainly convert the format of the songs to MP3, then how do I organize those converted MP3 songs with artist-alburm-title and, when reached around 700MB, burn into a CD? After conversion in iTunes, the MP3 songs are scattered in various folders, and manually find all of them is very inconvenient.
Alternatively, is there a way to export all the songs in a playlist to another place in my hard disk (out of iTunes folder), while preserve the ID3 tag in each song? Then I can use MAX to convert them to MP3.
    Thanks much for your time.

Good idea! However what I would like to achieve is to organize the MP3 songs in an artist-alburm-title folder structure so that when I listen in my car, I can easily navigate through the hundreds of songs on the 700MB CD. The little software iTunesExport does a nice job to extract songs from my iTunes playlist and export to another place in my hard drive and "retain iTunes structure", i.e. preserve the artist-alburm-title folder structure of those songs. Then I use Max to convert those songs (still in AIFF format) to MP3. Max also preserve the folder structure. It's a two step solution. I wish I could find a way to do this in one step - export songs in my iTunes playlist as MP3 to another place in my hard drive (or CD directly) while preserving the artist-alburm-title folder structure.

    Hello Everyone:
Recently, my son received a MuVo 256MB MP3/Flash drive player. He just opened it and tried to use it with his G4 733. Apparently, there was no software compatible for Mac OS 10.3 OR 9.x. Does ANYONE know of a driver or other software that might help make this flash drive USEFUL to him or should we pack it back up and give it away as a Xmas gift??
Thanks for your help and yes, I already went to Creative's site but found nothing. Maybe someone else knows something I can't find!

  • My itunes playback and transfered mp3 files are corrupted and sound garbled...***? All software is updated.

Recently my itunes player and sync mp3's play sped up and garbled. All software is updated
and all obvious logical attempts to fix it have failed. My  files play fine on Media Player, and
burn fine using Nero. Problem's gotta be in itunes.
    Any ideas?

I've uploaded a new version of my DeDuper script which should be able to detect when the same file is on two different paths and act appropriately. The script preserves ratings, play counts and playlist membership and can recycle real duplicates while keeping hold of an original copy each duplicated track. See this thread for background, this post for detailed usage instructions, and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.
Test with the duplicated tracks of a single album first just to get a feel for it. It can take some time to run as it makes 5 passes over the selection, so you'll need to be patient if you are not able to use it with the progress bar active. If it detects the possibility (as it will in your case) that two seemingly different paths point to the same file it will prompt you to confirm the correct path to the media folder. This should be the C:\Users\<User>\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media one, please correct it if it detected the wrong folder before proceeding.

  • Lr can't find my iTunes playlists

For some reason Lr can't locate my iTunes playlist. There are no songs in the list, I select the Refresh Playlist option - but only get a message - Can't Locate Playlists.
    Any ideas?

I don't know about Mac's, but on Windows I have to select a folder and let Lightroom play all the songs in that folder rather than the one song I want. I don't care for the idea of copying my mp3's to a new folder just for Lightroom. That may be simpler to program, but it is more complicated to use.

How do I setup itunes playlists to listen over my Sonos system?

Drag the items in the playlist to a flash drive open in Finder.  It will copy the files to the drive.  The files will likely then play by file name order.  If you want it more structured you will have to read the documentation for your cars player on creating a playlist as this varies by each model player.  Alternatively you can manually rename the files so they are alphabetically ordered in the desired order (usually adding a number to the start of the file name [not the track name in iTunes but the file name in Finder] works best).
Not all players will play AAC format files as is standard for iTunes Store music.  If you encounter this issue you will have to convert the files to mp3.

The song might have been encoded in a format that iPod shuffle doesn’t support. The following audio file formats are supported by iPod shuffle. These include formats for audiobooks and podcasts:
    AAC (M4A, M4B, M4P) (up to 320 kbps)

  • ITunes Playlist Import empty?

    Hi Guys,
i wrote a Powershell script that creates several m3u playlists for my mp3s.
I tried to import that playlist in iTunes but it's empty.
Then I tried to create a m3u playlist with exact the same content manually, aaand it worked...
Do you have an idea how to solve my problem?
    Thanks in advance.
    Danny

I suspect your Powershell script isn't making an m3u file that iTunes is completely happy with. As I recall iTunes wants absolute file paths whatever the m3u specification might say.
