Itunes playlist shows duplicate alphabet

My playlist on my phone shows no songs A-Z 123, however as I scroll through the alphabet it will restart at "A" and all my songs are then there in order?  Why do I have 2 alphabetical lists, one showing no songs the second showing all my songs?

Have you tried reversing the sort order on iTunes before syncing? The order displayed in iTunes is normally the same order playlists are for iPod.

How do i delete duplicates from my music library. After updating my iTunes the "Show Duplicates" option does not appear in the menu

If you are on Version 11.0.1 rather than 11 Apple put it back in
    View > Show Duplicates
Option + View > Show Exact Duplicates
so if you are on 11 upgrade to 11.0.1 and you will have it

  • HELP - My iTunes Playlist shows 10 not 11 Podcasts

I have created a wordpress blog with my late father's sermons from 20 years ago. All MP3 files. And I have created a feedburner that feeds the blog items to iTunes.
There are 11 messages on the blog. But only 10 show-up on iTunes. The OLDEST podcast does not not appear. Though ALL 11 messages are on my iMac iTunes home computer playlist.
Does iTunes only show the most recent 10 podcasts?
    Am I doing something wrong?

.and I can't find the settings window anywhere as you showed above.
I can only check this in iTunes '11 on my Mac:
When you select one of your Podcasts in list view, you should see a "Settings" button in the footer of the iTunes window. Press it to reveal the "Settings" window.

  • ITunes 9 showing duplicates on quite a bit of my library?

I recently added a bunch of new music and since most of the music was scattered about in different folders and what not. I decided to click on my music library while in iTunes, then I selected all songs and deleted them but kept the actual files. So at this moment my library shows nothing at all, I then refreshed the library by going "add to library" and let iTunes add all of the songs again.
After it was completed I have quite few of the exact same songs duplicated. If I double click either of the duplicated songs they will both play but if I right click and select "show in Explorer" there's only one song like there should be.
Does anyone know what's going on? I've done this before by deleting the songs but keep the files and never had any problems.

This has happened to me before as well, and I'm sorry to say that there is no way (that I found anyway) to take care of this accept just go into iTunes and select the ones that are duplicates and choose to delete them. I would be very careful though. Another way you could go about it is to just make sure you have all of your information/music...etc., backed up and then just delete all of it and then add it back in being careful before hand to make sure that there is only 1 copy of each music file in the iTunes directory before you add it all back in. Of course it's entirely up to you how you go about it, but that latter way is the way that it would be the easiest for me.

  • I dare you to solve this: iTunes Remote show duplicate albums...

But it does not in iTunes, only on my iPhone. It's making me nuts. I'm referring to the remote app that you download on your iPhone and that controls your iTunes of course. On my laptop it shows Miles Davis, Kind of Blue but in remote application it shows two Kind of Blue Albums. Very frustrating. I made sure album name was exact through all songs as well as artist. This seem to be a reoccurring problem on about 10% of my albums.

u Say your album names are all the same... What about the "album artist "? I think that's the name of it, in "more info" it's the one right above album:) let me know if this helps..

  • Itune match show duplicate album

I've just take my iTune Match account and I've seen a little "bug" on the iphone.
I've got 1 album that show itself 2 times (1 in the P letter, for 'Katy Perry - Prism', the second in the R letter, filter available when i show my entire collection)
    Here's a capture:
It's the same album, but it seem to be downloaded twice.
    en → fr
C'est le même album , mais il semble être téléchargés deux fois

iTunes Match only matches music to the store of record for your account. It does not match across stores.

  • HT2905 i am trying to delete duplcates" from my i-tunes....sounds easy...except I dont have a "show duplicates" in my drop down "view menu" !! help please

Anyone help?? I am trying to remove duplicates from my Itunes library....looks easy, except I dont have a "show duplicates" tab in the drop down "view " menu !!
So, what can I do? thanks

    Dear iTunes,
    YOU SUCK.
    Seriously.
I have used Apple products for quite some time. I have no idea why they keep changing everything that has finally become second nature! It is now MUCH more difficult - create a playlist, show duplicates, etc. Its an absolute mess and I have yet to find anyone who does not have multiple complaints.
I have this same problem. All information I look up says use "Show duplicates", which I have done many times for years before. But now when my iPad is plugged in, that option is grayed out for me (unable to be clicked on). I went to the Apple store today and the employee couldn't even answer my questions. I am planning to go back sometime with my computer as well and beg for a solid explanation.
Wouldn't it be nice if these tracks just didn't duplicate? That seems like a proper solution that would suit me well. Until then I just plug in, arrange by song, and go through manually deleting the extras. Often. #wasteoftime #annoying #argh
    Good luck.

  • Library shows duplicate songs but are same file

My Libray and Playlists show duplicate titles and songs and when I check file info they are the exact file and location. The problem is that when you check one of the duplicates it also checks the other and plays the same song twice in a row.
Bear in mind this is true of only two songs out of 37 on my playlist.
How do I get rid of the extra entry?

There is a difference between duplicate music files and duplicate library entries.
Have you re-organised your music files? Have you run the evil "Consolidate Music Library" command? Or added directories to the library after reorganisation?
I've had similar problems and I've deleted the library and had iTunes rebuild the library. Sure, you lose some library specific data. It also depends on all your music being contained in a single directory (plus sub directories). Long ago, I learnt the lesson of letting iTunes organising my music and copying any music it played via double-clicking to the iTunes music directory.

  • Where is the "Show Duplicates" functions in iTunes 11?

I recently upgraded to the new version of iTunes and can't find the "show duplicate" options. This is one of the main reasons I don't upgrade to the new iTunes, because of this kind of stuff - missing functionality that I use on a regular basis... Any help (outside of downloading your personal script) would be appreciated. Thanks!

Two Windows scripts to make playlists of Duplicates and Exact Duplicates. Use shift-delete to remove selected tracks from the library as well as the playlist.
There is also my DeDuper script if you don't want to do it by hand. Please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping. See this thread for background.

  • HT2905 Is the 'show duplicates' option missing on the new itunes??

Can't find the option where it used to be...

The show duplicates/show exact duplicates features have been left out of iTunes 11.0. Rumor suggests they will be restored in the next build. In the meantime I have written two Windows scripts to make playlists of Duplicates and Exact Duplicates, either from a selection of tracks or the entire library. Note that, as with the iTunes feature, this list makes no distinction between "originals" and "dupes", you have to decide which is which.
There is also my DeDuper script for automatically removing duplicate copies but keeping one remaining copy of each set. This can preserve ratings, play counts, playlist membership, etc. which are lost in a manual clean up. Please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping. See this thread for background on deduping and the script.
If you want to manually remove duplicate tracks use shift-delete to remove selected tracks from the library as well as the playlist. Keep one of each repeated group of files and don't send the others to the recycle bin unless you are sure that there are multiple files on the disc as opposed to multiple entries to the same file. Same advice to backup applies.

  • Music app shows duplicate playlists

The music app on my wifes iphone 4 is showing duplicates for the recently played and recently downloaded playlists. also whenever a new playlist is created it shows twice on the list. some of theses cant be deleted. this is the only device that has this issue. is there any way to get rid of them?

You might try syncing all the music off her phone (by unchecking Sync Music on the Music tab of her iTunes sync settings, then syncing), then back on (recheck Sync Music, sync).  This should rebuild the music library and playlists on her phone, hopefully removing the duplicates.

Unplug your Iphone out of your computer and replug it back in. It took me several times before I could do this
