ITunes Plays from Random Positions, Help!

I've started recording all my music in variable bit rate and have come across a problem.
When I pause a song that is in VBR format, say half way through the song, and then continue to play it, it doesn't play from where it last was, but from earlier on.
For example: I will be listening to a section of a song that has vocals. I'll then pause it and go doing something for 5 minutes. When I come back a hit play, it plays from a section earlier on that contain no vocals. Very annoying.
What's even weirder is that it is just happening to new songs as I have older songs, (added to my library last year) that are in VBR and play/pause fine. Go figure.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

let's try working through the possibilities in this document. if you've got an itunes version 5.0.x or 6.0.x, you'll need to check the QT 7 settings:

Track won't play from trackhead position

It just started doing this. When I move the rackhead to a position within the song and hit the play button, it goes back to the beginning and plays from there.
I must be doing something different but I can't tell what it is.

How do you get GB to play from playhead position (not restart from start)

I've recorded a song and want to hear it from where the playhead stopped when I pressed the spacebar. I press the spacebar again and instead of continuing on from where it stopped the playhead goes back to the start of the song. How do you get the playhead to just continue on from the position where it stopped?

Hi, I'm trying to create a simple screensaver whereby a
company logo just simply fades in and out at random positions on

1. Put the logo image on the stage.
2. Convert it to a graphic symbol. Again convert the graphic
to a movie clip.
3. Inside the movie clip make a fade in fade out animation
using the graphic inside - use about 20 - 30 frames.
4. Write the following code on the movie clip timeline first
frame.

Apple TV Remote starts playing iTunes Library at random! HELP?

Hi,
I've been having this problem for a while now, and I've been avoiding it as much as possible. I have the fairly new Apple TV (last Christmas) and a OS X Mountain Lion Macbook Pro. When I have both my Apple TV and my Mac running at the same time, each time I press a button on the Remote, my iTunes library turns on, plays, pauses or turns the volume up or down. It's very annoying as you can imagine. I'd like to get this issue resolved ASAP.

If you don't want to use a remote with your computer the easiest thing to do is just to turn the IR off. (System Preferences > Security > General, click on the Advanced button in the bottom right corner - If the button is greyed out, click on the lock icon and enter your administrators password))
If you still want to use your computer remote then you must pair your computers remote with the computerAND the Apple TV remote with the Apple TV.
To pair a remote with a device hold down the menu and FF buttons together for six seconds or until you see a chain icon on screen (best take the computer into another room, or turn it off, when you do this)

My mac was off while iwas on vacation and i missed the ios 7 update and niw it wont update. I cant play itunes radio from my mac. help

The iOS 7 is only for iPods, iPhones and iPads. It is not for Macs.

I had itunes played from my PC to my music system that is connected through a nework. It use to work fine, but now I get an error message that say "An error occured while connecting to the Airplay Device "Stereo". An unknown error occured (-15000)".

When trying to play itunes from my PC to my stereo connected to an Airport Express, I gen an error that says "An error occured while connecting to the Airplay device "Stereo" an unknown error occured (-15000)". This has happened before and for reasons unknown to me, the problem corrects itself, then it starts again/ Makes me wish I did not have my music on itunes.

This is typically caused by a firewall or Internet security software running on your PC. Please read the comments in "Error -3256 or -15000 when streaming to AirPort Express base stations using iTunes".
Also there is "iTunes 8: Unknown error -15000 when attempting to stream music to devices connected to AirPort Express with AirTunes".

Neither iPod nor iTunes play the music, please help

Well, i bought a second-hand ipod mini 4 gb in ebay and when i put music on it and i hit the play button it doesn't play! I can see the play icon, but the song "level" doesn't move. And when i use iTunes and i hit play, i have the same problem!It's so strange, isn't it? Please help me, i have already restored it and reinstalled iTunes, don't know what to do...

The first question to ask is are you using Windows 98 as your profile suggests? That OS does not support the iPods use. You need Windows 2000 (SP4), or XP (SP2).

Problem restoring iTunes backup from DVD - please help.

Hi all,
My iTunes library is currently on our laptop. I've used the iTunes backup wizard to create two backup DVD's using the internal Optiarc DVD writer.
When I try to restore the DVD's on my new PC, iTunes freezes up for about 10 minutes with the DVD/CD-RW combo drive very active.
After about 10 minutes iTunes gives the error message "The disc "Backup2008-09-08" cannot be read. An unknown error occured (-50)."
The DVD set opens okay in iTunes on the laptop. I've tried using both iTunes 7.7 and 7.5 on the PC for the restore with the same error.
I can also see the contents of the DVD on the new PC - but it says "Files 'currently' on the CD' at the top of the windows - does this mean that the DVD has not been finalised by the laptop?
Any help, as always, greatfully appriciated.

I had this problem just the other day it took me a few day to figure it out but what I did is go to setttings and click store then sign in . It then told me that I have to review payment option. Theer should be a option none in payment options but if there is not put in a credit card then conferm it then when your done you can take off your credit card option

How Can I play iTunes Library from Remote Disc without importing?

I have my iTunes library copied to an external HD. I want to play it through my iTunes account on my MacBook Air, but don't have the room to import it all. Is there a setting to have iTunes play from a remote disc without importing the tunes to the computer itself?

By the way, the alternative (esp if you don't have a library file on the external disk) is to add the external drive's media files to your laptop's iTunes library on your local hard disk. The downside is that (a) if the external disk is unavailable when you start iTunes, you'll see next to the music in iTunes (telling you that the files are unavailable); and (b) as you manage music on that external disk, you'll have to manually update iTunes on the other computer.
Probably better to keep the library file on the external disk if that external disk ever is going to be disconnected from the the machine or connected to another machine. But if you'd like guidance for keeping the library file on your laptop and media files on the external disk, let us know.

What is your iTunes version?
If iTunes 11, have you checked the "Up Next" list? If it is not empty, try if clearing "UP Next" will help:

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

The transfer was successful, however when I plug my 3rd gen Ipod Nano into the new PC, the Ipod icon appears along with the music, playlists, etc. The songs are shown but are 'grayed out' and wont play or sync.The 'Devices & Printers' window in new PC shows icon for Ipod driver & is OK. The icon for the Ipod appears but depicts a delta shaped warning icon that states that the Ipod is'not operating properly'. Tried troubleshooting. The troubleshooting message states the the Ipod is 'disconnecting'. Can you help me with this problem?

That "itunes file from the old PC"? Is that the iTunes folder, from the old PC, that was in the user home folder's Music folder?
All of the library, playlists, etc. from the ipod as they always have been are shown, by they are 'grayed out' and will not open or play.
That's on the iPod, correct? Are all of your old playlists in iTunes, from the old PC, still there in iTunes on the new PC? Are the songs in iTunes still playable?

There are many steps, but this is a summary. (1) On the old PC, consolidate all of your iTunes data into the iTunes folder. (2) Copy this iTunes folder to the external drive. (3) On the new PC (that has iTunes installed but NOT running), replace its existing iTunes folder with the one from the old PC (on the external drive). When you run iTunes, it uses the iTunes folder from the old PC, and it should look like iTunes on the old PC (with all the playlists, ratings, play count, etc.), and your iPod will see the iTunes library as the same iTunes library (because it is the same library).
If you did something different, and the old PC is still accessible, you may want to try it using the method from the linked document.

It's right at an hour (consistently), but the computer goes to sleep prior to that. It's as if iTunes goes to sleep. Also, it wasn't always this way. Originally, the movies played through without interruption. At some point, I guess a setting was changed, and now I only get an hour. Also. My energy settings are set to go to sleep at 10 minutes.
