Itunes plays music as if I was holding down fast forward

I just downloaded the newest version of itunes and when you begin listening to music it starts off okay but about half way through a song it starts playing it as if I was holding down the fast forward button...anyone else experiencing this problem?

hmmmm. given that you've got a Dell, we'd better check on the possibility from the following document:

  • Screensaver never starting when iTunes plays music

    Hi,
I have recently bought a Mac mini that I've put in my living room, connected to my flat screen. The Mac mini is connected by HDMI to my Audio/Video amplifier (Denon) which connects by HDMI to my flat screen. This is fantastic to sit in the sofa to surf the Web and get iTunes playing music in the room.
My problem is that despite the screen saver is turned On in the settings, it never pops up/starts if iTunes is running and playing Music. The impact is that my flat screen is left with static image which is not good. So I can start the visualization in full screen, but I would prefer something automatic to save my flat screen
All my software are up to date (did check a few seconds ago).
This seems somehow something specific to the Mac Mini.
I am wondering if there would be an hidden setting, somewhere, to ensure the screensaver is not blocked or disabled by iTunes?
    Thanks,
    Matthieu

I watched a video on my iphone, and it worked fine.
I wanted to watch it on our MacBook for sound and clarity, and every time I accessed it, it locked up. To the point that the only solution was holding down the power button.
Everything else worked, and I could freely enter information and open other Facebook entries, but when hitting the "play" button or clicking on the video it immediately bought up the spinning beach ball, and would never clear. Any solutions?

Did you try viewing the video in a different browser? Firefox or Chrome maybe?

  • Has anyone met the problem that iTunes plays music automatically?

    Macbook Pro 13' (early 2011)
    System: Mavericks and Yosemite
    Description:
When iTunes is playing music, click "Pause" button (don't exit iTunes), then leave the laptop alone or close the laptop so that a few minutes later, it will enter sleep mode. Then a few minutes later, iTunes starts playing the music that was playing before when you clicked the pause button, automatically.

    Hello!
This shouldn't be able to happen if your Mac is asleep. Are you sure your Mac is really asleep and not just showing a black screen? You can easily test this by clicking: "Apple Mene > sleep" and see if the issue still occurs
If that's not helpful, disable support for infrared remotes in: "Apple menu > system preferences > security and privacy" and click [advanced] Check "disable support for infrared remotes"
Secondly, disable power nap for testing purposes: "Apple menu > system preferences > Energy Saver" Uncheck Power Nap.
    Did all this help?

  • Can't play music on iPod that was downloaded through iTunes.  It says I'm over the 5 computer authorized limit, however I deauthorized all computers and reauthorized on 2, which is what it says in my store account.  Any help?

I already deauthorized the computer individually twice to ensure it wasn't authorized twice.  I called support and they want me to pay $19.95 for them to help which I think is BS.  Does anyone have a solution or suggestion?  I tried searching and didn't come up w/ anything.  Thanks!

    Marcy5:
I have had trouble like this from time to time. You are right about the answer: Check the manually manage music box while your iPod is connected to your system at home. That fixed it for me.

  • Setting up new macbook pro ,want to transfer music on existing Apple id and then set him up with a new one for future purchases ,can itunes play music from both accounts on one user account?

Title says it all really, son has until now used our itunes account,in future will want to build up own but wants obviously to have access to past musuc/books etc.I was thinking authorise new macbook with existing apple id ,transfer music ,then set up new id for future,if he wants to play old music he will have to log in under old account.
Also want to link to icloud but this will need to be the new id presumeably because you are not allowed to change the computer, does this mean it will only back up the stuff from new account?

I have tried the method of authorizing my computer and then initiating transfer purchases method yet my purchases were not transfered. I was told Apple can put your purchases in a certain place for you to retrieve them in your I-tunes account.
Is there any way you can help me with this problem?

  • How to keep Itunes playing music when switching from one user account to another?

On my old pc, that running XP, itunes would continue playing when I was switching from one user account to another.
Now I have a new PC running win8 and the music stops playing when I switch from one user account to another. I think Itunes is still running on the user that is not active, but the music is not coming out of the speekers.
Does anyone know how I can get the win8 pc to do as the old XP machine?

    Hello over here,
The steps below detail how to place an input chooser that will allow for the adjustment of your keyboard layout while on the login screen.
From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
Click Users & Groups to display the pane (or choose User & Groups from the View menu).
If the lock icon in the lower-left corner of the window is closed, click it, then enter the name and password of an administrator to unlock it.
    Click Login Options.
Select the "Show Input menu in login window" checkbox.
From the Apple menu, choose Log Out.
At the login window, click the Input menu (shows the name of the currently selected input source next to a keyboard icon) in the upper-right corner of the screen, then select the desired input source or keyboard layout. If you don't see the input source you are looking for, move the pointer over Other Input Sources, then select the input source from the complete list that appears.

  • ITunes plays music, iPod loses some parts of song

I imported a Beatles CD into my iTunes folder and it plays exactly like the CD. Then when I transferred the music into my iPod, I noticed that certain parts (guitar chords, etc.) were missing from the songs.
Can anyone explain what's wrong? I appreciate any help!

  • Havin itunes play music off an external hardrive w/out saving it to compute

I have an external hard drive with ovr 100 GB of music and I have a new mac computer. I am new to the mac os and what i want to figure out is how i can put the music from the external hard drive ont itunes without the music being saved to my computers hard drive. I cant igure out how to do it on my mac. Basically I want all my music to show up on itunes when my external hard drive is attached but not when its not attached. this is to keep the computer from getting cluttered & running slow. I really would appreciate any help.

I am wondering about this as well, i got a new MacBook, and I plan on having both the macbook and my dell desktop running at the same time... the way i have my Dell set up is to have itunes look at my external hard drive for the files it plays... the library looks the same, but the files aren't on the computer... i could not figure out how to do that on the mac... there's got to be a way, the mac recognizes the hard drive, but when i tried to do it, it tried to copy the music to the hard drive, and obviously 90 doesn't fit on 60
i am new to mac, so its probably something im not used to doing, thanks for any help that can be provided!

  • Does itunes play music in ALAC codec in 24/192 quality?

hey help, i need to know if itunes can plays HD music without any additional  software

im using HDMI. I think that te only way to set on 24/192 music in itunes is going to the midi audio configuration an configure it by your self. Otherwise i have download another player like audirvana , which does this automatically. However the difference between a CD or 16/44 are very low... i think its a waste of space having such a good quality like 24/192.. dont you think so?

  • Playing Music while putting people on Hold

I heard you can have music play while putting people on hold while using the phone feature on the iPhone? I have no idea how to do this or if its true. Seems like a neat option if you can.

You can post feature requests here...
