ITunes Podcast logo issue

Our podcast logo shows up in the window when you search for it in the store. http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=288813069
But when you down load it and click on an episode it doesn't show up in the bottom left hand corner "Selected Item" window of iTunes.
Is that an RSS issue? What's the fix?
Thanks!

Here's how I add that graphic:
For MP3:
take the final prepared MP3 file.
Drag it into iTunes.
Edit the MP3 tag info (if you like)
Drag your artwork into the artwork window. iTunes will glitch for a moment while it writes the JPG to the tag of the mp3 file.
now from the iTunes playlist, drag the podcast file back to the finder.
you now have an mp3 with the artwork embedded.
upload and enjoy.
For M4A: use the podcast track in Garage Band or use ChapterToolMe to write the dynamic graphics to the m4a.

  • My iTunes podcast logo has been updated.  It's correct on my phone and podcast library, but not in the iTunes Store.

I created a Podcast about 2 to 3 months ago.  Submitted a logo with the podcast feed.  "Community Consult Podcast".  About 6 weeks, I've updated the RSS Feed to incorporate a new logo.
New Logo is just Blue  ( http://practicingexcellence.com/sites/default/files/cc-podcast-small.jpg )
Old Logo has Blue, Purple, Green, and Yellow
The new logo appears on my Phone's Podcast Feed, in my personal Library Podcast Feed (From my Computer), but does not update in the iTunes store.  How can I get the ITunes store to update the new Podcast Logo.
    Thank you,

The image you link to is 144 x 144 px. However that isn't the image which the Store should use - the URL for that is
    http://practicingexcellence.com/sites/default/files/cc-podcast4800x4800.jpg
This won't be accepted as despite the filename it's actually 1200 x 1200 px; it needs to be 1400 x 1400 px and also must be less than 500kB.
For reference your iTunes Store URL is
    https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/community-consult-podcast/id950873564?mt=2
and the feed is at http://practicingexcellence.com/podcast-feed.xml

  • Itunes Podcast Logo using iweb

    Hi All,
Perhaps you can help me. I use iweb to create and submit my podcast to itunes.
However the RSS feed that iweb creates for iTunes does not include my podcast logo (main image) so that in itunes my podcast does not have a logo.
Do you know how to add the main podcast image (logo) to using iweb so that it is included in itnes?
    Thanks

There probably is a method, hidden somewhere in iWeb's complexities, but your best best would be to ask in the iWeb forum.

  • ITunes Podcast logo not visible

My logo doesn't appear in the the space where it should go and instead it is generic. I use Libsyn and uploaded a 1400x1400 pic. It just got added to ITunes today so is there a wait period or did I screw up?

All looks good for your artwork as Roger said and for the feed overall.
There are some other new shows in the last couple of days also missing artwork - seems to be a little bug on their side.
Per showing up in the search results - it takes about 7 days for your show to be fully indexed into the search results.
For now everything looks fine on your side - just a mater of waiting for iTunes to update.

Just yesterday, I was getting the iTunes cannot connect message... it's happened prior to the iPhone..it just happens from time to time... I guess sometimes it just has some kind of connection error with the server. Nothing to be concerned about..that's on their side..not yours!

  • ITunes' podcasts no longer download (?)

iTunes' podcast downloads had for the most part been downloading fine until the partition that they had been on was deleted and I had to recreate the iTunes folder on that partition from a backup.
When booting from my primary drive using 10.3.9 I can no longer manually, or automatically, download podcasts. And oddly, even podcasts that exist on that partition will not even open in iTunes.
Yet... when I boot from 10.4.9 on a secondary drive which shares the same recreated partition with my iTunes folder (with the podcasts on it) I can download podcasts manually and automatically and it will play all of them without problems.
Common sense would simply be to delete the com.apple.iTunes.plist and maybe even the com.apple.iTunesHelper.plist files. (Which I did.) But this didn't work even though I did this with iTunes inactive and rebooted. So... it would seem that the next step would be to reinstall iTunes. So I deleted both the iTunes app and the preference files again and rebooted. Still my podcasts won't either manually download or automatically download and the really strange thing is that the ones that were downloaded while booted from 10.4.9 will not play when booted from 10.3.9.
I then resubscribed to the broadcasts (i.e. podcasts) and though the available podcast lists appear for each broadcast with "Get" next to each... when I click on them they won't download and I get the icon at the far left showing there is a problem.
Though this might be a prebind problem for the last issue... I don't see how that would affect iTunes not being capable of downloading podcasts from 10.3.9.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've been listening to iTunes' podcasts for years without this problem so I can only imagine that it must have something to do with the fact that the partition had to be recreated (though I can't see how that fact would affect iTunes in this way when I DIRECTLY drop the podcast files on to the iTunes app icon... and they still will not play. This would bypass any prebind problem it would seem).
Thanks for reading this lengthy post.
Systems 10.3.9 and 10.4.9 on separate internal drives in the same box using iTunes 7.01 (7). Though I had been using iTunes 6.05 with 10.3.9 before this problem occurred. But when I couldn't solve the problem I upgraded to 7.01 with 10.3.9 -- since it was working with 10.4.9 I thought I'd give it a try -- but even that didn't solve the problem.)
    RonL
Mac OS X (10.3.9) 10.3.9 and podcasts don't work, but 10.4.9 and podcasts do work

It appears that I solved the problem. (I like to post my solutions so as to both not waste peoples time and so that if this ever happens to someone else it might help.)
My iTunes alias of the iTunes folder that is by default placed in the Music folder (i.e. ~/Music/iTunes) was broken after the partition where I had moved it was recreated.
Or... since I also forced a re-prebinding (not a simple 'update prebinding') it may have been this since my music in the same folder (on the recreated iTunes folder on the recreated partition) was playing fine and from 10.4.9 the podcasts played fine.
So it may have been both... but anyway... the podcasts are working fine again.

  • Blank podcast logo in podcasts app

I need help. A long time ago, I had a similar issue on a podcast I eventually became uninterested in. I figured I'd just delete it, and all would be well. Since then, I've restored my iPad. Now the same darn thing is happening with my personal favorite podcast. Roosterteeth podcast, for any who care. Any help?
    Images:

So, the actual Rooster Teeth logo is missing and it's replaced by a generic podcast logo, correct? It might be a problem on their end, perhaps they didn't include the logo for that episode?

  • ITunes Podcast doesn't grab all episodes

I have a really strange issue that started to occur recently. I have 51 episode, however iTunes Podcast only has 3 cataloged (originally it had all 51, but dropped back to 3). I even deleted all of my XML's and started from scratch. After re-doing all the XML's iTunes Podcast grabbed randomly different episodes (the number did jump from 3 to 14). In all honestly, I didn't even change anything I just re-uploaded them. I compared old XML's to the new ones, and they are identical. I have no idea what the heck is going on.
    Here's my XML:
    http://goo.gl/Kg38jg
Any ideas if I have a weird XML problem or is it Podcast issue?
    Looking forward to your responses.

Yes, there are 51 episodes in the Store. It can be a bit glitchy sometimes. Its favourite trick is saying is has the correct number of items but failing to show any.

  • My podcast logo is not showing up!

Help. my logo for my podcast is not showing up. I have read all of the past threads and have checked the coding. We are 11 episodes in and still no logo. www.thecapepodcast.com is my website and it's listed in the itunes store as thecapepodcast.com. that's not right either but i can live with it help.

Please always include the feed URL when posting a query. For the record, yours is
    http://thecapepodcast.com/podcasts-only/rss2.aspx
The coding is correct, but the URL of your image is
    http://images.quickblogcast.com/9/8/6/9/7/288280-279689/DefaultImage/The Cape Podcast logo.jpg
This contains spaces: spaces are not allowed in a URL and though browsers can usually cope with them iTunes will see the URL as ending at the first space.
You need either to rename the file removing the spaces, or replacing them with (for example) an underscore, and then amend the feed to match; or, a less preferable alternative but it works, replace the spaces in the feed with the code %20, thus -
    http://images.quickblogcast.com/9/8/6/9/7/288280-279689/DefaultImage/The%20Cape% 20Podcast%20logo.jpg
This has been done with your media file URLs - the filenames there have spaces too - or they wouldn't work. You should avoid spaces in filenames and URLs for the web.
Once changed it may take several days for the image to appear - it always seems to be rather a slow process.
The title of the podcast is carried in a tag a few lines down:
    <title>THECAPEPODCAST.COM</title>
There's nothing to stop you changing that: the new title will appear in the Store when it checks the feed.

  • Slow iTunes podcast download

    Hi,
It takes me, and others, 11 minutes to download our new episode (69MB) from iTunes.  Other people's podcasts, of a similar size, I can download in 1 or 2 minutes.
My internet speed is solid, and I've just contacted godaddy support, and they insist that it's an iTunes problem; as downloading episodes from our RRS feed directly is very quick.  Additionally, I'm on win7 with iTunes v11.0.4, but have recieved complaints from mac users as well.
I cleared my roaming iTunes cache manually, as well as through the iTunes preferences, and restarted to no effect.
I'm concerned about alienating our meager listenership with unusually long iTunes download times, any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks for your time,
    D.

    RRS feed - http://blog.mrya.ca/podcasts-only/rss2.aspx

It's nothing to do with iTunes. When I tried downloading your latest episode in FireFox it said it was going to take fifteen minutes. (My connection, by the way, is 100Mb/s.) It might be the server, or anything in the connection between wherever it is and me (in the UK), but you can rule out iTunes as an issue (in fact when I subscribed it said it would take 11 minutes which is slightly better).

  • How can I use podcast logo?

I want to use the purple podcast logo, are there permissions for this, since it's being used in itunes? Are there other sites where you can download similar looking podcast logos?
Hope this isn't a dumb question.
    eMac   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

You might want to look at GB3 support page, maybe. I know the loops are royalty free. And as long as you don't sell them as loops you can use them as you like. I don't have GB3, but if there's stuff you can use, they "probably" have some sort of provision covering it in writing somewhere. If it has any type of Apple logo or something showing it was made using GB3, perhaps THAT is the intention. To let folks know you did it on a MAC with GB3. I know I used to have a website and I had this little "Made on a MAC" bug at the bottom of my page. Free advertising for them

  • ITunes Podcasts NOT Updated to Podcast Page

Since Nov 25, our new posted podcasts are NOT being updated to our main Podcast page. They ARE being updated to anyone who has subscribed, but they are NOT showing up on our Podcast home page.
Have been using the the iTunes Podcasts Page for our class in Sports Broadcasting and is really causing trouble for all as we approach final exams and projects for the semester.
Could someone please tell us how this can be fixed ASAP. Could it be because of some of the recent updates to iTunes?
    Thx Much

We continue to have issues with our podcast page not being updated. WE missed the last two weeks of the term and are very, very annoyed that our Podcast page on iTunes was not updated during the very important end of the semester.
All worked PERFECTLY for two years, then suddenly there are no updates to our Podcast page on iTunes Since November 25, 2008.

  • Deleting old itunes podcasts

It appears that with the release of Itunes 11.1 I no longer have the option to delete old podcasts.  When I right click I "occassionally" get the option to delete the podcast but even then it simply chnages it's status and shows it as redownloadable. This functionality can't be right. Can someone tell me if in fact it is the case or if I'm missing something obvious.

    Hi, turingtest2, (Alan?)
I've been searching the archives for the old iTunes-11.1-deletes-all-my-podcasts solutions, and you seem to have the best handle on what's going on.
No matter what I try, certain podcast episodes are automatically deleted from my hard drive, with no evidence of them ever being there, and the cloud download symbol appears next to the episode in iTunes. Whether I am subscribed to the podcast or not. If I download the episode again, it's only a matter of time before it's deleted again.
So, I've followed your advice of recovering all the old ones from time machine backups, and storing them in a new folder. I've also reimported them back into iTunes (only to find the same episodes are only in the cloud). I've since converted all the spoken word podcasts to audiobooks, and the music-y ones to music, leaving the genre as podcast.
Now, what i'm proposing - and hopefully it's a short term solution until Apple realises that what they've done is rapidly losing them customers - is to write a small script or Automator thingy such that when iTunes downloads a new podcast episode, it is automatically converted from a podcast to a music / audiobook.
That way, all new / old podcasts can be kept away from the abominable iTunes podcast set up they've recently ruined.
If Apple ever fixes the issue, and allows you to keep old podcasts as podcasts, without the threat of having you stream them from the cloud, one can simply delete the script and convert everything back into podcasts.
My problem is that I haven't the first clue on setting this up.
They call me the ideas man...
    Cheers,
    Ed

  • ITunes / Podcast trouble

I have subscribed to 25 or so podcasts. Some update daily, some weekly, etc. However, earlier this week iTunes was not able to connect to any of the feeds. After 24hrs or so, it finally broke loose and downloaded all of the backlog. Well, now it's hung up again.
Please let me know if this is all becuase of some check-box I mistakenly hit. It's not an iPod issue, just iTunes. It tells me to check my internet connection, but everything else I try on the net is working fine. I hadn't found anything in the help files thus far.
    You advice is appreciated. Thanks,

  • I am trying to update my RSS via sound cloud to iTunes but having issues... please help

I am trying to update my RSS via sound cloud to iTunes but having issues.
I currently have my podcast working on iTunes but I have decided to change where I have them hosted.  I moved my podcasts over to Soundcloud and currently have the rss feed but I would like to update my iTunes podcast with this so that all my podcasts showing up on sound cloud will sync up and automatically update.
    here is my rss feed:
    feed://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/48458062-the-collective-podcast/tracks
    Podcast via Soundcloud:
    http://soundcloud.com/the-collective-podcast
    my podcast on iTunes:
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-collective-podcast/id662393388
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

The feed in use by iTunes is http://thecollectivepodcast.podomatic.com/rss2.xml , not the one you list. It has one episode, whose media file URL is
    http://thecollectivepodcast.podomatic.com/enclosure/2013-06-14T16_06_53-07_00.mp 3
Your feed at http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/48458062-the-collective-podcast/tracks has no episodes.
You will obviously need to get this sorted out before you can proceed. Once you have the soundcloud feed working properly you will need to add a special tag to the original feed in order to transfer the Store to using the new feed. The method is decribed here:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/podcast.html#move
Please make sure you are completely clear about it before proceeding, and check that the new feed works by subscribing manually in iTunes before you try moving the Store to it.
