ITunes Problem updating 5G iPod

My iPod is fine at the moment and the problem is coming from iTunes. And To helps you even more i can be very very specific as to why it's not working as well! I get an error message every time i open iTunes saying "The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\CFGMGR32.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette." I have followed the usual course of action and so far no results. I was wondering if deleteing this file manually might help, but i dont want to risk it without a secong opinion! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks jamie.

After i made this post i went on some serious web searching to find out more about the .dll file causing the problems. I found out it wasnt in fact an itunes file and a windows file. after posting on the windows XP forum i was informed to insert my XP disk and open a command promt. type in sfc/scannow. this opens a program that checks your protected files and if any are corrupt, as this was, it finds the origional from the cd and replaces it. If anyone else has this problem i hope this helps you!

Sync your iPhone to iTunes to copy the iTunes purchases to the computer.
    Or iTunes prefs > Store.
Tick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases then click the Cloud icon after the song names to download them.

  • I cannot get Itunes to update my IPod.  I am at a loss

I am a seasoned IPod user. I just transitioned to a new PC and cannot get Itunes to update my Nano IPod. I have downloaded new versions of ITunes and updated my IPod software. ITunes sees the IPod but does not transfer any songs or playlists---help

What the user before me is trying to say pretty quickly is, Be sure that the settings in iTunes are set to update your iPod.
    1) Plug in your ipod
    2) Click the button with the ipod on it, about fourth from the right at the bottom (bottom right corner)
    3) Manual (choice 3) is probably selected, Select automatically update all songs instead (choice 1).
Does this help? If not, let me know.

  • Problem Updating my iPod with iTunes

I recently bought a 2GB iPod nano and want to update it. The software I have on my iPod nano is 1.1.1. The website says that the current is 1.2. iTunes says that my iPod nano is up to date but my iPod nano says different. Could somebody please help me! Thanks!

If you have the latest version of iTunes click your ipod and click your opod and click summary and under verion you should be able to click Update IF YOU HAVE THE LATEST VERSION OF iTUNES! if not, under start and programs (windows users) go to ipod and ipod up dater and hopefully the date says 2006-6-28 or later. if not back up songs and reformat i guess, or reset (hold menue and middle button) hope this helps

After that a message says an error occured and then any music I tray to transfer to iPod fails to do it, and the former songs on my iPod are not shown at the iPod icon on iTunes.
I´ve already tried the "5R's" and many other things, such as trying to use some different versions of iTunes and iPod softwares. I would really appreciate if someone colud help me solving this problem. My iPod is the 20Gb Photo.
I will be waiting anxiously for an answer. By the way my name is Fernando and my email is: [email protected]

Disk write -69 generally refers to a specific file in your iTunes, that is not able to be copied to and played on your iPod. Try updating the iPod and watching the progress at the top, and see which file(s) is/are causing the issue. Try erasing them from your iPod library (click on the file and hit the delete button on your keyboard) and then try to update your iPod again. If you feel like you're getting the issue on more files than you ought to be, or if it doesn't get past the first file every time you erase the file, you might want to try following the steps in this article, and then updating the iPod again.

Also, as a side note... on Toshiba's, the iPod generally performs better if the iPod is connected to the USB port on the side of the computer than one of the ones in the back.
    Best wishes

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • ITunes Wont Update My iPod Touch Or iPad.

When I try to restore or update my iPad or iPod touch, iTunes tells me it can't connect to the server. Anyway of fixing this?

    - See if resetting the iPod will allow iTunes to see the iPod so you can restore it if necessary.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    - Then try recovery mode:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
    - Next try DFU mode.

  • Can't you add new songs to an old playlist in iTunes and update your iPod?

I made a playlist a few days ago and yesterday wanted to add about 10 songs to it. I dragged the new songs into the playlist and they all appear in iTunes. I then updated my iPod and headed off to work. However, once I got to work I noticed that the playlist was still the same and the new songs were not on it. Shouldn't they have been?

Are you using automated iPod sync or manual? If you dragged the original playlist to the iPod (manual), then you have to manually update the iPod contents with the new entries.
An auto sync method should automatically load the new entries from the iTunes playlist to the iPod. Did you change the name of the playlist? Check the iPod Options area to verify your sync settings (right-click on the iPod in the iTunes Source list on the left).
