Itunes purchases on multiple ipods

I bought my hubby a shuffle for jogging and he loves it. I had no intention of buying one for myself, but I'm thinking I want one also. Can I use the same music on both?

Hello Barbara,
Yes, you can. You can sync it to as many devices as you want.

  • ITunes Library on Multiple iPods?

Can one iTunes library supply multiple iPods? If I have an iTunes library on my computer, and I have already put that music on my iPod, can I put that same library on a second iPod, without affecting the viability of the library ? If so, will I still be able to reinstall the music on my first iPod, if I would ever need to? Thanks you!

  • Question on using using purchases on multiple ipods

    Hi,
I am pretty new to this forum and cant get my head around some problems. I have been told its possible to purhcase something on an itunes account, but use it on more than one ipod. So for example I buy something on my itunes and sync with my ipod, can my girlfriend plug in her ipod to my itunes to sync that purchase with her ipod. I tried this last night and received a warning that confussed me, something about transferring purchases to her ipod, which I was afraid would wipe them from mine.
I saw this feature on the Itunes site called 'home sharing', not too sure if this is what I should do or not.
Hope the above makes sense and thanks to anybody that can help.
    Cheers,
    Paul

    Yes. This may help:

Without knowing the exact message, it's difficult to offer advice. But anything to do with your girlfriend's iPod would almost certainly have nothing to do with yours. If you can post the precise error message, we can probably be more informative.

Home Sharing is for copying content from one computer to another. If you're using only a single computer, Home Sharing will be irrelevant.

  • Is it possible to sync Itune Purchases from my IPod touch to my samsung 3 phone and if so how?

I want to access books I purchased on my Ipod touch, on my Samsung 3 phone?

If the music was purchased via iTunes, you can transfer purchases from the iDevice to iTunes.
With the device connected, do not sync, select File > Transfer purchases.
If the music was acquired via other sources, you are SOL.
Where is the backup that you keep of your media and other important files?????
I find it extremely difficult that someone would forget to back up their important files before reformating a computer.  IF that is the case, then I would say you just learned an important and possibly expensive lesson.

  • Unable to have iTunes purchases sync to iPod

I'm fairly new to iTunes, and started buying a few songs and an audiobook through iTunes. When I first purchased them they were on my iPod, but today when I try to charge my iPod to the computer I get the following error message:
"Some of the items in the iTunes library, including "Nothing at All", were not copied to the iPod because you are not authorized to play them on this computer."
Has anyone encountered this before? Why does this happen? And how can I get my purchases on my iPod? I have tried the five "R"s to no avail.
Thank in advance for your help!

In itunes top menu click on store. Under store it says authorize this computer. Authorize your account to play songs on your computer. If your computer is already authorized, deauthorize it and authorize it again.

  • HT4914 transfer non itunes purchased music from Ipod to Itunes

I have an ipod nano 3rd generation with music content (CDs and Itune purchases) that was synced to an iTunes library on an old pc that crashed and was never recoverable.
I now have another pc with a new iTunes library and content different from that on the IPOD.
I would like to transfer the content of that old ipod to the library (in a nut shell I do not wish to take out all my cds and install them manually on the new PC to have their content available for iTunes.
I pod pages say you can only transfer music from an ipod to iTunes if that music was purchased from iTunes and not if it was from CDs.
Is there a way around this or do I really have to transfer my CDs one by one to the new Itunes
Not: I am willing to buy iTunes match if that helps...

  • Itunes setup for multiple Ipods

I have not figured out how to setup more than one Ipod on one PC. I have tried using playlists but end up duplicating songs one one of the Ipods. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There are several different ways to use two iPods with one computer, have a look at this help page for suggestions: How to use multiple iPods with one computer
If you want to use selected playlists for each iPod try this. Open iTunes and create a playlist to update from iPod from, call them -My iPod1, -MyiPod 2 for example (the dash will position them at the top of the playlists in Sources). Drag whatever content you want to have into each playlist. Now connect your first iPod and when it appears in the Source list click on the iPod icon to bring up the preference tabs in the main pane. Go to the Music tab and choose Sync Music and the Selected playlists radio button. Choose the playlist you just made for this iPod from the selection and click Apply. Eject this iPod and connect the next one and follow the procedure above only choose the playlist you made for this iPod. Eject the second iPod and repeat the process until they are all done.
You can also sync from any existing playlists by choosing the same setting, you just need to make sure that the size of the playlists don't exceed the capacity of your iPod.

  • ITunes and synching multiple iPods with same information

Is there a way to synch multiple iPod touches, iphones etc. with exactly the same music, movies, apps?  The music can be done with a playlist but how do I set up my content once, save that setup and use it for multiple devices?  I am thinking some named setup that is stored when synching.

  • Getting itune purchases on to ipod touch

    Hi heres my poser.
I originally set up my ipod touch om my works pc and purchase few things of itunes store ...no problems.
I know want to use the pc at home.
I thought i registered the device on my home pc.
when I know bring up itunes i get the library set up for my ipod shuffle.
so a movie i purchase is nowon that library.
when i try and synch the ipod touch with this nothing happens.
    any ideas please?
    thank you

iPods don't like being synced to two computers. Pick one as your default, always sync on system. On the other system (I guess this would be the work computer), go into iTunes and de-authorize that computer. You can transfer your library to a portable hard drive, memory stick, or DVD(s) and import them on your new computer.
On the new computer, you need to authorize it and then resync your iPod.

  • Loading iTunes purchased music onto iPod

    Hello,
I just recieved a brand new 5th generation 30GB iPod, and tried to sync it with my computer today. Most of my audio files loaded just fine, but none of the music I purchased on iTunes will load. In addition, any time I try to play some of the purchased music, it says I am not authorized, and even after reauthorizing the computer, it keeps saying I'm not authorized. This was never a problem before I hooked up the new iPod. Help?

What itunes version are you running?
I got this from a thread where bnoir suggested:
right-click on the track in your itunes library, and select "get info". click on the "Summary" tab.
is the account name on the track precisely the same as the account name that you've been entering in the authorization dialog?

  • HT5661 I have my moms old ipod and I have been trying to put my itunes purchases on the ipod and it keeps telling my I have to wait 90 days before I can do this.  Is there are way to get my purchases onto the ipod??

My mother gave me her old ipod since she has an iphone.  I reset the ipod and signed in under my apple id but the ipod tells me I can't download my previous purchase music because I have to wait 90 days.  What can I do instead of waiting 90 days to use the ipod?  This is the 3rd generation I think without the camera.

You have to sync them from a computer that has those songs. You can't redownload for 90 days
This describes the 90 day period

  • Sharing an iTunes Library w/Multiple iPods/Computers

I'm sure there is a tutorial somewhere that tells you how to do this...but I cant seem to find one. I'm trying to find out how to share one iTunes library that is on my mac with another computer on my network (a laptop PC). I have 2 ipods as well, and would like both ipods to be synched to the same itunes library. Is this possible? Please help!
    thanks

Not really. Each computer will have a separate library within iTunes. They can be set to use the same file storage location but I have no idea how to do that with a Mac.
