ok my old laptop crashed, so I bought a new one, now im trying to get my music to open on itunes on my new laptop, but I cant figuar out how to get it, I was hoping it would be easy, but maybe im just not looking in the right spot, can anyone help me please?

Your content will only be where you put it. it does not magically appear anywhere.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just this occasion. Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup, not good, then you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries.

I have a new pc and cannot see my prior itunes purchases. I had hundreds of tv shows purchased and thought I could import after account sign on. Is there anyway to access my prior purchases without having to copy off my other pc?

When you purchase something it is downloaded to the computer you are logged into at the time, purchases don't simply appear on every computer you choose to use.

No there's not. If you want to have your purchases on more than one computer you have to copy them from the computer they were purchased on. Itune purchases and New desk top

I hae just purchased a new desktop and have authorised it with I tunes. I can access my library of purchased songs but cannot play them. I tunes tells me it cannot locate these. I can still access and play them on my two Ipads and have synced these with the new desktop, all this does is list them again in the library. Still cannot play them. The new desktop is a Zoostorm running Windows 7

I had to get a new computer. I purchased some new songs in itunes but now it won't allow me to transfer to my iphone - with error message that my iphone was synched to a different library. Interestingly enough, it would let me transfer to my ipod touch

The iphone will sync/manually manage with one and only one computer at a time. If you sync/manually manage with another, then it will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup of your old computer, to your new one.

I have changed computers a couple of times and now i am wondering if i can still get music I have purchased some time ago back on my new computer. i aee the recoder of my purchases, but i don't see how to get them back. how hong can you get music you have purchased from the store?

You get only one download per purchase. So you'll need to copy the purchased from your old computer. If you have them on an iPod, you can also copy them back to iTunes from there; use the "transfer purchases from iPod" command under the iTunes File menu.

The most common cause for this issue would be media present that is purchased with another Apple ID. When prompted to authorize the computer it may show a different Apple ID. Trying to play old itunes purchases on new mac

I am trying to move my music over from my old Mac, but all of the songs I purchased through itunes will not play because"you already have authorized 5 computers with your apple id". When I go into my account on itunes store, it says I have 0 computers authorized. How can I deauthorize other computers when they aren't even recognized on my current mac?

If you want to have your purchases on more than one computer you have to copy them from the computer they are purchased on. When you purchase something it is downloaded to the computer you are logged into at the time, purchases don't simply appear on every computer you choose to use. Also you need to back up your music as you only get one download.
If you didn't make a back-up of your music/movie purchases before reformatting your computer to restore from (as you are advised to do) then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Products may only be downloaded once; after being downloaded, they cannot be replaced if lost for any reason. Once a Product is purchased or rented (as applicable) and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage" iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once

Failing this, you could try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. My computer recently crashed, so i had to buy a new one. Ive gotten iTunes downloaded and its all set and ready to go. BUT, I would like to know how to get all the songs/movies/shows I've bought over time, into the library on THIS computer. ANY help is greatly appreciated!

You're supposed to move it from the old computer or your backup. If that's not possible, click here and ask.
The hard drive might still be usable if the old computer isn't.

Hi I have just purchased a new iMac and I am trying to move my iTunes files into iTunes on the iMac. I have got as far as pasting the music folder from my pc onto the desktop of my iMac. How do I now put this folder into my iTunes?

Tigon's already got you covered here. But I'll chime in with some English localisation advice.
There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

I have just purchased a new pc and when I try to play 2 separate albums that I bought from the itunes store I get a message that my computer is not authorized. I then follow the steps to authorize it and the same thing happens when I attempt to play this

Just purchased a new pc with windows 8. Transferred over my itunes. With 2 different albums in my library, when I attempt to play this music I get a message saying my computer is not authorized. I then sign in to authorize the computer, itunes tells me it is indeed authorized, I attempt to play this music again and I get the same "your computer is not authorized" message again, and again....
Any help out there on this one would be appreciated. If my question is not clear enough I will attempt to help.

I just purchased a new iPhone and it told me to plug it into iTunes, I did. Now when I am trying to get on to iCloud to get all of my data from previous phone, it won't let me. I keep getting my old apple ID

I just purchased a new iPhone and I am not able to get into my iCloud. When I plugged it into my computer, I used iTunes to get my phone up and running. Well it gave me my old apple ID as my info. Now I cannot get into anything because I don't remember my old password and when I go to the website to recover my password it is of no help cause I don't remember any security questions(over 8 years old) and that email account don't even exist anymore. Now when I go to try I cloud on my new phone all it keeps doing is trying to verify my old iTunes and won't let me use my new apple ID to sign in it keeps sAying to type in my old password from my old apple ID that I just don t have. Can anybody help me?
