"iTunes + Quicktime" has an invalid signature. It will not be installed.

What am I supposed to do???
I have tried and tried for weeks now.
1. a box pops up that says "Apple Software Update" and it says "New software is available from apple"
2. I click on "Install 1 Item"
3. I click on "accept"
4. It acts like its downloading...
5. "iTunes + Quicktime" has an invalid signature. It will not be installed.
and after i click okay it says if problem presists then click on tools>Download only...
i did that and it STILL SAYS THE SAME THING!!
HELP!?!?!?

I don't understand it ... but it works..
1. Get a POP-Up that says I need to update my Quicktime and iTunes players.
2. I click ok -- DO IT!!
3. I get the error -- "quicktime has an invalid signature".
3a. I google the phrase
4. I come here are read these pages ...
5. I go to microsoft, com and do not find SP3 for XP .. and think that the comments here are "right on" that is not the first choice .. gettting something "new" from Mr. Gates and his crew.
6. I go to apple.com ...download the files
7...... and all is well??!!!!
8.... wondering ...where does that pop-up come from that asks me to update ..?? if not from apple??!!
Oh Well ... Very happy now ... thank you all for taking the time to input...and educate this old man.
Respectfully,

  • 8.2.1 error message "iTunes + Quicktime" has an invalid signature.

I am getting this error message when I am trying to download & install the 8.2.1 update. The entire message states "iTunes + Quicktime" has an invalid signature, it will not be installed. I saw another post started by Cfrolich, but it doesn't look like they got the problem fixed. Has anyone had this same error message? Can anyone help??

I have not had this problem before but the latest update to iTunes + Quicktime, offered today, puts me in the same situation.
The web is covered with reports of this issue over the years, always "iTunes + Quicktime has an invalid signature", but nothing I can see which is a good fix for the problem.
Tried chkdisk, install manually doesn't work, the installer just keeps trying.
Tried installing QT 7.6.4 independently from the Apple download page, that didn't help either.
If this is so prevalent, why isn't there more on the main Apple site about it?

Therefore, I can not update my iphone4. What should I do?

This forum is for questions from those managing sites on iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the general iTunes for Windows forums.

I am trying to update iTunes to new version .
When it goes to install i get a message saying iTunes has an invalid signature and will not install.
    Any help please.

Go directly to Apple link to download

Select "Save" instead of "Run".  Once downloaded, double click the iTunesetup.exe to install.

  • Error "itunes has an invalid signature". Will not install. Why?

Every time I try to update iTunes on my desktop computer I keep getting the same error message "iTunes has an invalid signature. Will not install. Why am I getting this message? and how can I fix it.
ITunes came with the new HP I purchased in 12/2013. I have had a problem only with updates. I thought about uninstalling on my desktop but do not want to lose my songs. Was hoping to find a better solution than uninstalling and then re-installing.
    Any how would be appreciated.

The error suggests some sort of corruption with the file you downloaded. Clear your browser's cache and download a fresh copy of the iTunes setup file.

If you are running 64-bit Windows and the above steps haven't helped try installing the version of iTunes that can be downloaded from this support document. iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)

  • I get an error "iTunes + QuickTime" has an invalid signature while updating from 10.1 to 10.2.2

I get an error "iTunes   QuickTime" has an invalid signature. The download has been removed.  When trying to update from version 10.1 to 10.2.2.  I have a Toshiba laptop running Windows 7 OS.  I have tried repairing all the Apple software on the laptop.  What do I need to do to get this updated?

  • ITunes & Quicktime has an invalid signature. The program has been removed

When I try to update itunes through the apple software update, i get error message 'itunes and quicktime has an invalid signature. the program has been removed.'
When I go to download from the apple website.. it downloads 10% and then stops.
I have tried downloading through google chrome, firefox and IE, I have tried to delete my temp file, And I have also gone into internet options and ticked 'allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid'.
Nothing is working!!! Does anyone know how to fix this?

Okay. Try downloading and saving the installer onto a different PC. Copy the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) onto a USB key or thumb drive or other external drive (or even burn it to a CD) and then carry it to your PC. Copy the installer onto your internal hard drive, and then start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe).
(If we can get a working copy of the installer onto a PC, installs will usually go through without the invalid-signature/not-valid-win32/unknown-publisher/etc errors.)

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities
I am assuming you are having difficulties installing the latest version of iTunes. Are you using a Windows PC or a Macintosh? Which version of Windows or OS X are you using?

The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if one component won't install normally.
If needs be, the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility (MS Installer "Fixit") may be able to help force through the installation.

  • Trying to upgrade itunes on windows computer error comes up invalid signature and will not install, trying to upgrade itunes on windows computer error comes up invalid signature and will not install

invalid signature error when trying to install itunes 12.01?

Praise God - I found the solution after hours of work: (1) Uninstall all Apple programs (itunes, Quicktime, Bonjour, .....); (2) Go to "Common Files" and delete all Apple files - this might be difficult for some are locked from you - you may have to change the "Owner" of the file in order to delete it - if that doesn't work "Rename the Apple Follder to something like Apple Old - that's like deleting it.  Then download 10.5 from Apple and away you go - yippee.

I am trying to update my iTunes on my PC and I keep getting this message after I click the button to install the update ... "Apple Software Update for Windows" has an invalid signature and will not install
Okay. Rather than using Apple Software Update, let's try updating your iTunes using an installer downloaded from the following location:
    Latest iTunes Installer
Does the install using the iTunesSetup.exe from there go through any better? If not, what error message do you get from that?

  • When I try to update to Itunes 11 I get an error message saying that Itunes has an invalid signature and wont be installed. I use Windows 7.

Everytime I try to update to Itunes 11 I get an error message saying that Itunes has an invalid signature and can't be installed?  I have tried to install it two times and get the same message each time. Any solutions to my problem?? Those who have installed ITUNES 11 is it hard to work with? maybe im lucky it wont update?? I don't know.

That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?
