  • Nano quit working after update to version 1.2

Brand new nano quit working after update to version 1.2 It worked fine before. My computer see usb storage device but doesn't recognise ipod. ipod updater that worked to let me update doesnt regonise nano either. I returned to store where I bought it, got a new one, brought it home, ran updater again now it the new one is doing the same thing. What gives? I have never had a problem in the past with updater. Is there any way to take it back to version 1.1 since 1.2 doesn't work?

This fix came from Caspar (Thank you SOOO much!). It took me 10 minutes to do this and now my beloved ipod nano is back! Hopefully this will help some of you:
Original Problem: Updated iTunes(6.0.5) and iPod nano (1.2). After the update, iTunes would not recognize my iPod and therefore would not let me remove the iPod from my computer, which seems to be the problem most people are having.
    The Fix:
*uninstall iTunes, iPod, and any updates (make sure anything related to these two programs are not on your computer)
    *Open Control Panel
*Click the "switch to classic view" link, if
    necessary
    *Double click "administrative tools"
    *Double click "computer management"
*Under "storage" click on "disk management"
    *Find your iPod's listing
*Right-click on it and click "format"
*Select "FAT32" and start the format
*After reformatting, remove iPod from computer
*Download iTunes directly from the Apple website (I didn't restart my computer at the prompt)
*Download 6/28/06 update for iPod (do NOT plug iPod in before doing this!)
*Open update for iPod and wait until prompt to plug iPod in (do not plug in early)
*Wait for the update....and there ya have it!!
Hopefully this will help some people, as I have spent the past 2 weeks doing the 5R's thing. After completing the steps above, I haven't had a problem with my iPod..and now my Nike+ works!! Thanks again, Caspar...you're a genius!!
p.s. if this helps, please repost this message to others who have the same problem as we do...

  • IPhone 5 update 6.1.3 speaker quit working after update

After update 6.1.3 on my iPhone 5 my speaker quit working. Did a restore still nothing. Headphones work just fine. No speaker phone or music.

Plugged into iTunes - told me to update to 6.1.3.  Did its thing... and no sound from speaker.  This happened immediately following the completion of the update - I didn't even pick up the phone.  ***!
Headphone works fine, but I get zippo from the speaker except an occasional crackle.
Turned off BT, reset settings, plugged and unplugged the headphones (to see if the sensor was stuck), rebooted the phone, did a restore to factory, everything I could think of.  Speaker is dead.
    Don't  perform this update - something's wrong.
Now I've got a useless piece of junk and I keep missing incoming calls.  Nice job Apple!

Anyone have the issue where itunes stops working post the latest update install? Ive even uninstalled itunes and attempted to reinstall and it doesnt work

    Hey Rockettman23,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues with iTunes for Windows. I also understand that you have already attempted to reinstall iTunes. You can use the steps in this resource to further isolate the issue to user-specific or system-wide:

  • Itunes stops working after update windows 7

I am using Windows 7 64 bit and recently updated to itunes 12. After a few minutes itunes crashed with the "has stopped working" message. I have reinstalled, created a different user account and got rid of all other Apple programs all to no avail. I even reinstalled itunes 11 but it would not recognise my library. This is driving me mad. Seems I'm not the only one. suggestions please!!

I'm going to ask the hosts to move this to the windows part of the iTunes part of this forum. YOu'll stand a better chance to get an answer there than you will here.

  • Itunes not working after update..help please

I updated my itunes to 10.4 and since then it will not connect to the itunes store and synching is not working either.  I've emailed Apple and tried their suggestions with no luck.  There was a recent post on here in June with success and it was something to do with a proxy server??? Can someone help me reinstate my itunes please...i miss it!!!

Disconnect all devices from your computer.  If you have not already done so after updating iTunes, repair permissions and restart your computer.  If this does not work, b oot up from your install DVD and run "Repair Disk" from the Utility menu.

  • My iTunes stopped working after updating to iOS 7

I am using an iPhone 4S and after updating to iOS 7, I couldn't open my iTunes app and could not update/download anything in my App Store anymore. I tried logging my Apple ID in and out, but once I've signed out, I couldn't sign back in. Now I can't activate my iMessage anymore. How can I fix this?
I've tried restarting my phone countless times, but nothing works. There is nothing wrong with my wifi connection either.
    Thanks.

    Hi, carmsdomingo.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
The steps in the section labeled Unable to activate FaceTime or iMessage with phone number and Apple ID after waiting 24 hours (iPhone only) of the article below, should help resolve the issue.  Make sure to create a current backup prior to processing these steps.

  • Itunes wont work after update

My Itunes has stopped working, every time i try to open itunes or quicktime it says "itunes/quicktime has stopped working" ive tried reinstalling, downloading older versions and a dozen other supposed fixes, absolutely nothing works. Ive got no error codes no nothing. Ive checked my firewall itunes, quicktime and bonjour are all allowed through. I cant figure it out.

LA Jerry, here are the Apple support numbers, I found them in a previous post by forum regular Dave Sawyer.
    http://www.apple.com/support/contact/phone_contacts.html
iTunes is a free program and you are going to have to pay for support unless you've purchased some Apple hardware. They don't provide free support for Windows systems that they haven't sold.
I suggest looking at this article before trying to call & pay for support:

  • ITunes not working after update!

Whoa!  Opened iTunes yesterday to be told there is a new version.  Tried to download and run it but it isn't happening at all.  I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it all to no effect.  All I get is the following message:
    Runtime error!
    Program: C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe
    R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
    What is going on???????  Help!!!!!!!

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • Webcam quits working after updating win 8 to win 8.1

    I recently upgraded to win 8.1 from win 8 on Tx2z. Before upgrade the webcam was working, now however when I try any webcam app the webcam no longer works. In particular the standard win 8 camera app "camera" gives me the message;
"Looks like there's something wrong with your camera. Check the manufacturer's website for troubleshooting info."
This doesn't seem to be a hardware problem as this computer also boots into Ubuntu and Win 7 and the webcam works on these OSes.

I figured out the answer to my problem. I installed e2eSoft MyCam on Win 8.1 after reading a post on eightforum and it works, so hardware isn't the problem & apparently "camera" app doesn't work with 8.1 ... on this computer anyway. BTW if you try to uninstall Camera (I tried to uninstall thinking I could reinstall and fix it) you can't, it's embedded into the OS.
