ITUNES quit working on my computer

ITUNES quit working on my computer with an error message about the "MSVCR80.dll" file. I tried to re-install ITUNES, but couldn't get thatto work. I uninstalled ITUNES in the proper order according to ITUNES support. I still can't get ITUNES to downlaod to my computer, which uses Windows Vista. I get ann error message that the file can't be downloaded. Any ideas?

many thanks.
The text of the error message is, "iTunesSetup_exe(1) couldn't be downloaded".
Try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?
If you can't get a working installer via the standard download links, try the following download links instead:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe

  • Windows 7 with iTunes 10.5 keeps telling me iTunes quit working, looking for solution, then tells me Windows will let me know when they find a solution. Help, my phone needa to be synched.

Windows 7 with iTunes 10.5 loaded and working until I try to update apps or synch my iPhone 4. Windows says iTunes quit working and is looking for solution, then no solution but they tell me if they find one.

    Hi Lorheak,
thanks for the quick reply. I had the same idea already yesterday. I use Norton Internet Security for a long time now without any problems. I think this a Apple or Microsoft problem, because the popup window which appear come from Windows DEP. I got no message from the firewall with any problem. I check the log files from Norton and Windows already but find nothing. This is a very strange problem. In the past I have had a lot of other problems with iTunes upgrades. Everytime I accept the installation of the newest version I got errors regarding missing "msi" files.
    Greetings Gert

  • Why will iTunes not work on my computer?

I cannot get iTunes to work on my desktop computer. I had a crash some time ago and think it may have to do with a missing driver. I hope someone can help me with this problem. I can access iTunes on my laptop but it is not convenient.

    What computer is it?
Have you tried to fully uninstall the program and reinstall it?

  • ITunes wont work on my computer

iTunes just does not work on my computer, it is fully installed and all that but when i go to open the program and error message appears telling me that "the folder 'iTunes' cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the 'My Music' folder" now i obviously have got a my music folder and there is also an iTunes folder in there from a previous installment of iTunes. Is there anything anybody knows that i can do to rectify this problem?

    hiya!
the best place to start with that one is with this document:
iTunes for Windows: "Disk is locked" or "iTunes folder cannot be found" when installing or opening iTunes
but if you run into the complication where "My Music" doesn't appear as an option in TweakUI, try the alternate technique in this Nigel Carpenter post:

  • Itunes quit working on my MacBook Air.

I was listening to itunes on my way to work on my computer.  I paused what I was listening to while I walked from my car to my office.  Once I set up my Macbook Air on my desk, I wanted to resume listening, but now nothing works.  I can't get anything to play back.  This is frustrating, as I've never had an issue like this with itunes before.  What is keeping the program from working?

    many thanks.

  • ITunes quits unexpectedly when authorizing computer. Recently did a clean install of Lion. Help!!

I recently did a clean install of Lion and ever since I can't sync my iPhone with iTunes. All my Apps keep getting deleted and it asks me to authorize the computer. When I try to authorize iTunes quits all the time when it tries to contact the Store. When I view my account information in the Store it says i have 'one' computer authorized meaning my computer is authorized already.
    Help!!

According to "man webappctl", the available apps are listed as plists in /etc/apache2/webapps, where we see:
    ls -1 /etc/apache2/webapps/
    com.apple.webapp.ACSServer.plist
    com.apple.webapp.auth.plist
    com.apple.webapp.collab.plist
    com.apple.webapp.devicemgr.plist
    com.apple.webapp.mailman.plist
    com.apple.webapp.passwordreset.plist
    com.apple.webapp.php.plist
    com.apple.webapp.podcastwikiui.plist
    com.apple.webapp.webcal.plist
    com.apple.webapp.webcalssl.plist
    com.apple.webapp.webdavsharing.plist
    com.apple.webapp.webmailserver.plist
    com.example.mywebapp.plist
    org.calendarserver.plist
Judging by the names, I'm presuming you'd want to add commands to start com.apple.webapp.devicemgr.plist and org.calendarserver.plist and potentially also
    com.apple.webapp.webcal.plist and com.apple.webapp.webcalssl.plist.
AFAICT the start/stop state persists across reboots.

  • ITunes not working on my computer each time open iTunes appear a window " iTunes has stopped working close the program "

Hi, I have a problem with iTunes on my computer each time when try open iTunes appear a window " iTunes has stopped working... close a program " someone can help me how fix it.

See HT203206: iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
