ITunes Quits When I Try to Import Anything

Any time that I try to import any kind of media, iTunes encounters an error and quits without importing. Please help.

If you made a mistake when you typed in the email address, you should probably change the Apple ID to reflect the correct email address.

When I try and import anything into my lightroom 5 light says not responding?

Light does not respond when I try and import photos. It doesn't even go to the place where it asks you from what device to you want to import from. I have had lightroom 5 for about one month and this is the first time this has happended. Brad

After months of frustration with this issue, I have found a solution on my machine. I use Compact Flash. One of the pins in the reader was bent and touching an adjacent pin. After straightening the pin so that it ddi not touch, the dialog opens properly.
On my machine, this "is not responding" message appeared whether or not there was a card in the reader. Every time that I tried to open the dialog, I would get this message as the dialog tried to populate the file source. Eventually, after from 5 to 30 minutes of waiting, the dialog would populate. Once the source was selected, the import worked properly. I now use a USB reader to avoid bending the pins in the built in reader.
The dialog now opens immediately and I can import efficiently.

Itunes quits when I try to update

My Itunes quits everytime I try to copy a song from my library to my IPod Nano.
This did not happen prior to downloading the most recent version of itunes and updating my ipod with the latest updates.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software...essentially done everything I can think of to fix this. The same thing is also happening to my boss who has a ThinkPad and a regular IPod, 20g (i don't know what generation, but she got it for christmast 2004)...

I had the same problem.
Get rid of your current version of iTunes and go back to what used to work for you (most likely 6.0.1). This solved my problem.

HT1399 I have a windows pc. It has windows 8 installed and I've installed the newest version of itunes but when I try to play anything, it won't. There's no sound and it says it's playing but it does not. What can I do?

I have a windows 8 computer and I installed the newest version of itunes because I used to have an ipod and I have a few purchases that I wanted to listen to. When I try to play them it says it's playing but I can't hear anything. It does not even says it's played the whole way. It just stays at the beginning. It won't let me pause. I checked my computer sound and there is nothing wrong with it. So there must be some software problem but idk what it is. If anyone can help I would appreciated. Thank-you

It sounds like there is an issue burning CD's in iTunes. Is the playback issue only occurring on a specific device and does the disc show up correctly in iTunes? ITunes quits when I try to watch downloaded TV shows

My iTunes quits each time I try to play any episode of the TV shows I've downloaded. I've rebuilt disk permissions, restarted my computer, deleted the shows and re-downloaded them - done the basic tricks that usually solve the issues my computer is confronted with. I purchased my MacBook Pro from Apple in August 2012, and haven't had any problems of this nature until today. It's not refurbished or pre-owned. I've been able to watch these shows before, and it's only today that they suddenly force quit - and, when I scroll in iTunes, there's a distortion midway down the screen. I downloaded a software update today, and I'm wondering if that could be the cause of these issues, although it wasn't an iTunes update. I'm baffled, and since I'm currently in a small European town (sans Apple store) I'm loath to use my precious phone minutes to call Apple. I wondered whether any of you have had similar problems, or tips for procedures I ought to try.

Update: I opened iTunes in Safe mode and got this message: "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes." I've searched past forums and have tried to open iTunes in 32-bit mode, but it still crashes when I try to play a show.

Itunes "Freeze" when i try to Import music AND putting it on to my Iphone

When i try to put Mp3's from my collection into itunes it imports some songs and then crashes on the same files. I then have to exclude these folders when im putting the music into itunes. THEN, when i try to put music from the music library to my Iphone 3gs 16gb the same thing happes, but with different songs. when i get it to sync, it does so until i reaches a spesific song, then it just tries syncing that song forever and finally the whole program crashes. What can i do?

Changed how? Did you update the Apple ID with a new email address or create a new Apple ID?
Keep in mind that content acquired from iTunes is permanently tied to the Apple ID it was acquired with.
If you created a new Apple ID, stop using it immediately.

ITunes quitting when I try to update iPod

Hi! First post here ever. Been a Mac user for about 4 years.
I own an 5th Gen iPod Video of 30 GB. I'm getting around iTunes 7 and even though there are things I'm still getting used to; this is close to freaking me out.
I installed iTunes 7.0.1. When I connect the iPod, iTunes asks me if I want to download the new software available for my iPod. When I say to download and install and it connects me to the iPod update server, the screen says that iTunes is downloading the new software. Right then iTunes quits. I tried to just download the software, it quit. Then tried to cancel, and it also quitted. I didn't get any "iTunes quit unexpectedly" pop up window.
Nothing happens. Basically, I can't use iTunes when the iPod is connected and I can't get the new software for my iPod. On top of that, the iPod is not on the desktop.
I think my immediate response will be to return to the iTunes version that came with my iPod. But I'd like to get around this problem, so please, any help would be much appreciated.

I'm running an old machine with 10.4, and I bought a 2005 20 gb ipod on ebay and the ipod shows up in itunes and on the desktop, syncs up, but if I try to access it through itunes (ie if I click on a playlist) itunes immediately quits and "ejects" the ipod. I restored it but and have got all my music on it but now i can't even restore it without itunes quitting first. I just downloaded and installed the new itunes. whats up? many thanks

I have the latest version of iTunes (7.6.2) and a fifth-generation iPod with software version 1.2.3. Every time I connect the iPod, iTunes asks me if I want to update it to 1.3. If I choose yes, it says "Extracting software..." and then just quits, as soon as the progress bar fills up. I've tried deleting the iPod software updates folder; that just makes it download the update, extract the software, then quit. I've tried restoring the iPod - whether I attempt with its current software or the new software, it does the same thing. "Extracting software..." then iTunes dies.

Hanging up when I try to import anything in Lightroom 5

Have been using succesfully for 4-5 Months. I have removed Lightroom 5 from my Windows 8.1 64 bit system and re-installed. Still hangs when I activate Import. Have also activated the "Repair" option in Control Panel "Programs & Features". Any suggestions?

I don't know if this is a good answer for everyone, but it worked for me. Mine began to hang immediately upon clicking on "Import" or file / import photos. No particular reason that I know of. Lightroom does that type of temperamental thing periodically. I was not getting an error message, just the spinning cursor and "Not responding." Previously, I would lose 2-6 hours going through these forum discussions, gradually finding some way to de-bug the program. Today, I didn't have time for that nonsense. After losing about an hour to the problem, I developed a work-around. I created a folder on my desktop and labeled it "LR Import." Leaving the folder empty for now, I went to file / auto import / auto import settings. I told Lightroom to auto import photos contained in the "LR Import" folder. I applied the new auto-import rule. Then, I put the photos that I wanted to edit into my new "LR Import" folder. Lightroom promptly imported everything in the folder. I was able to keep working. I'll go back and de-bug the import button problem someday when it is less inconvenient.

ITunes quits when I try to print.

Hello all,
While trying to answer an earlier post in here, I decided to test first before posting.
I selected a playlist then selected "print" - iTunes crashed / quit.
I restarted everything tried the same play list and down it went again.
Restarted once more and this time selected a different playlist - No crash!
Any suggestions will be met with the customary offers of Gold, Wine, Racing cars etc etc.

Itunes quits when i try to open a tvshow i purchased

working on windows vista with the service packs applied and all the updates... the shows i've downloaded from itunes will not play. well, once i got one to play, but other than that nothing.
i get the "itunes has stopped working" dialog... windows problem solver tells me that apple suggests updating the program... but it is the updated version and still nothing.
the videos are downloaded in a format that only itunes uses so i don't seem to have other options as to opening the files...
any ideas?
i'm trying to be leget in downloading and paying for all this content, but it seems like as often as not, i'm getting shafted on the content i download

Why does my iPhone 3gs keep saying "cannot connect to iTunes store" when I try to purchase anything?

I have tried to purchase songs on iTunes tonight and my iPhone keeps telling me "Cannot connect to iTunes Store". I can listen to samples of the music I want, I am just not able to download them. Any suggestions??

Same here........ I'm using my iPhone, iPad and MacBook pro and I "cannot connect to iTunes"............my Internet connection is great......... The apple store might be doing some update!
