ITunes Radio Ads won't go away!

My iTunes radio continues to play ads even though I have an iTunes Match subscription, which is enabled on all my devices. Just doesn't seem to recognise it. What's going on?!

An older post said to login to your account within itunes; go to account information; then disable icloud and ping. Since I'm also on 10.6.8 there is no "disable iCloud" option. So this is what I did (and it worked) - from the Account page within iTunes Store (must be logged in):
1. Ping was already disabled/off
2. In the iTunes match section, I clicked "Learn More" then clicked "No thanks". Effectively turning off Match (it gets removed from the sidebar).
3. Under "Settings" I turned off "Recommendations and Ping Postings".
I don't know which step - #2 or #3 actually made that login prompt no longer appear, but it doesn't so I'm happy.
Also, I had already disabled "Download updates automatically" in system preferences (and that didn't fix the iTunes problem). Note that I had that disabled that before I updated to 10.6.8 and the 10.6.8 re-enabled it. Not related, just mentioning in case that box needs to be unchecked too.
Other things you can try are in this Reset Warnings tip in this iTunes Windows thread (I didn't try it since the above worked for me):

  • Itunes playlistless music won't go away

    Hello,
Recently I switched the itunes I used to sync from Windows (Bootcamp) to OSX. I noticed in my library there was two of each song on my iphone (and my wife's ipod) So, I deleted all the music (by syncing no playlists) and looked at my phone and saw something peculiar: no playlists were on the phone but my entire music library was still there!
I can play the songs and they are taking up space on the iphone. I tried re-syncing with the old iTunes on Windows with no playlists and even though I pressed "erase and sync," the songs are still there.
So, basically there are songs on my iphone with no playlist that won't go away.
Note: I AM able to delete them manually by swiping the song and pressing delete, but I have 400+ songs! Not to mention three devices (iPhone, iPod, and iPad).
I was not able to find anyone with this problem on google. It's difficult to phrase this problem well.
    Anyone else experienced this?
    Thank you.

  • ITunes Radio Ads

I just got iTunes radio on my work laptop. I pay for iTunes match, I am still getting ads. I am signed in with my Apple ID, I do not have any music or anything else configured just downloaded iTunes for the radio on my laptop. Any ideas why I am still getting adds even though I am signed in and have iTunes Match.
    Thank you

    Hey ADiNozzo,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing ads with iTunes Radio even though you are an iTunes Match subscriber. Let’s check to make sure iTunes Match is enabled on your work laptop. If it is already enabled, try disabling and re-enabling it:

  • App Gamer iTunes Radio station won't load

On iTunes on Windows, the App Gamer iTunes Radio station no longer loads.  Other iTunes Radio stations work fine.  When I select play it displays the loading bar in the status window, then that disappears and the Apple logo appears.
    Thanks!

    First, try resetting the device:
Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.
If this doesn't help, it may be Apple's servers are overloaded/down/whatever. Try again later. That being said, Apple shows no issues with the system at the moment. You can check this here:

  • Itunes radio program won't stream on my pc

Having trouble playing a radio stream using itunes on my pc. I tried it on my macbook and it streamed fine. Same version of itunes on both machines. Why is this? any suggestions. I am trying to accesss Outlaw Radio under radio/spokenword. on the mac doubleclick or press play while highlighted and it's a go. On PC...nothing.

I have been trying to install for the last 3 days, here's what worked for me:
I uninstalled Bonjour from my control panel Add/Remove...which then broke my Apple Software Update...repaired that like so:

Updated the Apple Software Update from the prompt and proceeded without issues.

  • My custom iTunes Radio station won't play on my iPhone 4S or iPad 4.

That station was created on my iPhone and edited on my iPad. When I touch the station in an attempt to listen, its name pops up for a split second, until the radio page returns to normal. What's going on here?

Have gone here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3510 but none of that applies - I only have one apple ID. I have tried to set up a new apple email address, and have tried to use my work email (non-apple).
I have just discovered I can receive a Face Time call on my iPhone but not on iPad, and can dial out on facetime on iphone, but it still won't accept my email address. On my iPhone contacts I have the option to call using face time but not on iPad.

  • Ads won't go away!

I recently bought Elements 8, and everytime I start the program the welcome screen pops up and then a splash screen appears with ads of services and a tour, and disables the welcome screen so I must click through a tour every time to run the program! I know I can bypass the welcome screen all together, but how can I turn off these ads so I can actually *use* the welcome screen??

On reflection Adobe may have removed the ability to disable on start-up as this area is now used to log in with or creating an Adobe ID. However you can still bypass the welcome screen.
On Windows Go to C:Program files > AdobePSE8.0
Click on PSE8.0 to open it and make sure the files open in list form so you can scroll down the right panel to find PhotoShopElementsEditor.
Right click on that file and select Create Shortcut. It will create a shortcut on the desktop or at the bottom of the list of files which can be dragged to your desktop.

  • Itunes sign in won't go away

Whenever I open itunes I get a prompt to 'Sign in to use this computer for automatic downloads'. When I put in my ID and confirmed password, it leaves, and then prompts again like I've done nothing. If I cancel it...it leaves and then prompts again like nothing happened. I can't download itunes apps at all on my iMac and it's getting pretty frustrating to try to use itunes.

  • ITunes Radio Video Ads annoying

My laptop just update to the new iTunes. The online radio plays minimized in the background. However, now all video ads pop up and takes front row center to show me the stupid ad. I am trying to type a paper and this thing takes over.
Anyone knows how to disable this? Else I will be downgrading and blocking iTunes form ever upgrading via Host file. However, I prefer not to do that since future iOS programs won't sync with old iTunes.
Is apple really making me choose between obtrusive ads vs their products? Cause if that is the case, I don't see the point in buying iOS devices if I will need the new iTunes that has this annoyance.
    <Edited By Host>

I have the same issue....over 25K songs so iMatch is disabled. I think I am finally at the point where I am going to drop match. No sense in paying for it if I get only get 10% of the benefits and 100% of the hassle.
Any tunes added since it maxed is not seen on other devices. Since it is maxed on my iMac I get iTunes radio ads.
Even though it says my iTunes Match is screwed, most of the content from iTunes Radio is from my personal library with only 1 in 10 songs being something I don't own.
It feels as if iTunes Match and Radio are for people with almost no personal music collection, or their entire collection was purchased from iTunes. Either way it falls short of the hopes I and many others had for it.
I would gladly pay a few bucks more to have iTunes Match work correctly. And Apple has had plenty of time to design, test and implement a solution for users with large collections, yet no solution has appeared. iTunes Radio, being so heavily dependent on my iTunes collection (based on the music it generates), seems to not be much of a bargin considering that I pay for it AND get ads.
Considering the iWorks update debaucle, Apple seems to be dissapointing a lot of people these days. While I still love my Apple hardware and OSX, I can't help but be greatly dissappointed in their lack of attention to detail and their recent all-hype approach to delivering on the software side. They have the money and resources to build extrodinary software, yet they seem to make an effort to deliver what most would consider great products from Microsoft, but sub-standard from Apple.

  • Why is the iTunes Radio advertisement showing? I'm using the iTunes Match though.

I joined the itunes match last April. It will be expired on next April.
Until now, the itunes radio ads haven't been showed up while using the itunes match.
But Since last week, I listen the ads on the radio like Nissan and so on.
How do I remove the ads on the radio?

This message from William M. is the answer to our problem.

I'm also using ver. 11.0.1 and have Radio, so it's not a version bug.
Have you deleted the iTunes pref files?  Close iTunes and go to your user Library->Preferences.  Unless you've changed your OS to do this, the Library folder is invisible in the newer versions of OS X.  Open a Finder window, and while holding down the Option key, click on Go in the top menu bar.  You'll see your Library there, so click on it and go to the Preferences folder.  If you're viewing preferences alphabetically, scroll down to com.apple.iTunes.  Delete anything that has those words in the file name (there will probably be about 6 of them).  No worry; this won't hurt anything.  When you re-open iTunes, new pref files will be created.
Now, since you just entered this topic and weren't a part of the original discussion, I was assuming that your reply was to say that you weren't seeing any Radio option in iTunes.  That's what I'm trying to assist with here.
Re-open iTunes and see if anything is improved.  If not, can you post a screen shot of your iTunes window?

  • I bought iTunes Match; nonetheless, on iTunes Radio I routinely get ads.  Apple says that with iTunes Match one should not get ads.  Whaddup?

I bought iTunes Match; nonetheless, on iTunes Radio I routinely get ads.  Apple says that with iTunes Match one should not get ads.  Whaddup?

Requiring Match to be switched on, even though we have paid, to get ad free Radio can be costly.  Why?
Because if you want to listen to Radio with cellular data (not much data required) you are also agreeing to Match over cellular which can suck data like you won't believe.
