ITunes Radio song skipping like bad CD!

I recently started using the new iTunes radio service and the first couple days song played fine but starting last friday (Oct 4th 2013) Some songs started skipping like when you tried playing a scratched CD.
Very intermitted, random skipping and pausing.
The crazy thing is the next song (either by selecting or waiting until the bad song finishes) WORKS fine!... Then a song or two later skips again.
I am using a MacBook proRetina with the lastest OS versiona and most updated ver of iTunes.

My guess is that it's just the internet connection dropping the stream every now and then.  But hard to say for sure without actually hearing it and also knowing how you're connected to the internet.

  • Songs skipping like scratched cd in iTunes 10.6 why and what is the fix

Hi, I use my MacBook pro to play backing tracks for my live show. I am working in Greece in the outdoors at night. Since the beginning of the summer iTunes has been skipping like mad during gigs Not Good. I don't remember when I upgraded my iTunes but don't recall having the problem last year when I started using the MacBook. I have searched the net and have found many a kindred soul suffering skipping songs.
    What gives?
    What I have tried:
1- I have disabled the sudden movenmt sensor thinking it might be a Bass Response issue. However, still does it.
2- bought a DJ rack to elevate the computer thinking it might be a heat issue. Nope.
3- got rid of all start up items, closed airport, netshred, etc.
4- changed the setting on Perian from Dolby stereo to stereo, and then I uninstalled it. Nope
5- I use the apogee duet live and I get skips. Tried it without the duet and it's worse.
    What I am running-
    MacBook Pro
    Lion X 10.7.4
Processor- 2.66 Ghz Intel Core i7
    Memory- 8GB 1067 MHz DDR3
    1TB SATA HD
I hope someone can help. I spent a lot of money for my MacBook and don't want to go back to the PC.
    Thanks

    Hi, Clinton,
Now I think that I have officially tried everything short of taking out the HD and replacing it..
I have used the removable drive and still got the problem.. However, I noticed that the skipping only happens on my Backing Tracks and the same ones, which then told me that the tracks became corrupted. So I re-encoded 2 of the tracks using Garageband and Others I just replaced with new versions..
It worked great for 2 gigs and I was chuffed to bits.. However, I needed the third gig to make it a go and then BLAMMO one of the re-encoded songs skips... My 4th gig I get a new addition to the skipping...
Something is wrong and it is doing my head in.. Do you have any other suggestions aside from going back to my Cheapie Windows Notebook that never skipped?

  • Songs skipping like scratched cd on iTunes and MacBook pro

Posted this on iTunes and no response. I would really appreciate a reply from Apple as I not only paid loads for my MacBook, but crowed like mad how much better the Mac would be than a PC for doing music live. I am seriously disappointed and a bit embarrassed.

  • Can i use itunes radio without wifi like while driving in my car?

can i use itunes radio without sifi like while driving in my car?

Actually yes, beacause you have 4g or LTE and it will service with the WIFI, although it will cost cause for the internet like 4g and LTE so don't use too much. PS: I learned it the hard way.

  • Why is iTunes Radio continuously skipping songs, I've tried all the suggestions I can find

iTunes Radio just continuously skips songs on all of my devices - Apple TV, iPad mini and iPad 2 and iPhone 6.  I've tried all the suggestions I've been able to find so far:
Recycling the power to my modem/router
signing in and out of iTunes and icloud
deleting both accounts and reading back
deleting my wifi home network and adding back
Any additional suggestions I can try?  I really like this feature?  I would hate to have to create a new Apple ID or something, I don't even know how my stuff would transfer from one ID to another.  Please help!
    Thank you in advance!!!!

OK - this fixed my problem of skipping 30-40 songs and playing the same ones over and over.
I moved and changed the address on a credit card associated to my Itunes account.  The credit card was still active, however the billing address was incorrect in my iTunes account.  Make sure your Itunes account billing and payment information is correct as the slightest error will cause everything to seem like it is working correctly, except iTunes Radio.
    My Fix:
In Itunes - enter Account - edit user information - edit payment method (update all information)
fixed problem on both of my two Apple TV devices

  • ITunes Radio Automatically Skips through Songs

When listening to iTunes Radio through my AppleTV 3, iPhone 6, iPad 3, and iMac 2013 iTunes Radio will just start skipping through songs. The current song plays through to the end, but then starts scanning through 20-30+ songs before playing the same song that just played. This happens on every station I have created, and also on the suggested featured stations.
This just started yesterday after updating to iOS 8.2. I logged out of iTunes on all devices and signed back in, but the problem persisted. I also rebooted all devices with still no luck. My Husband is also having the same issue on his iPhone 5 and iPad 3 under a different iTunes account.
I happened to be out of Wifi range on my iPhone and tried iTunes Radio and surprisingly the skipping stopped. The minute I got back into Wifi range the skipping would start up again after the current song ends. So it seems like it has something to do with my Wifi which are run off of an AirPort Time Capsule and Extreme (all up to date). I rebooted my modem and AirPort’s thinking there was some weird config issue, but the skipping was still happening. I have not changed anything with my internet provider and have more than enough bandwidth.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix or further troubleshoot?

Hmmm, Cox must be blocking something. I'll try to call them when I get home, but I don't have high hopes dealing with them.
I also found another thread talking about the same issue.
"I already contacted apple about this and the persons that helped me told me they took the matter up to the engineering department.  So now I'm just waiting on a reply back.  Hopefully, they can get this fixed up."

  • How do I stop iTunes radio from skipping songs by itself?

I Go to music and I tap on iTunes radio. When I put a station it shows a song and skips it and it keeps skipping.Sometimes it plays a song but if I don't want to listen to it and I skip it, it keeps skipping by itself. How do I Stop it? I've tried reset my iPod and I signed out and signed back in into my iTunes account And it still does the same . Is there a more permanent solution?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Try when connected to another network
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • All songs skipping like a scratched record in Itunes!  Help!

I don't know if this problem has anything to do with Itunes 11 or Icloud but around the same time that I downloaded these I began to have all my Itunes songs, the great majority of which have not been bought from the Itunes store, skipping like a scratched record.    I also synched my PC with an ipad around the same time.  Thanks in advance!

  • ITunes Radio keeps skipping

Hi, I used iTunes Radio on my iPad yesterday and it was perfectly fine, but. This morning I woke up got my iPad and wanted to listen to the ITunes Radio but it kept
On skipping song to song. What do I do? I've tried everything! Help!

    Hi
I was listening to iTunes Radio for hours tonight, working fine. Then I stopped for a bit, returned to it and selected a different station and it was going bonkers fast forwarding like someone had their finger jammed on the next song button. tried closing the music app from the background and doing the hard reset. Neither worked.
My fix: sign out and back into your iTunes account within iOS settings.
Settings app > iTunes & App Store > tap on your Apple ID > sign out.
    Then sign back in.
Go back to music app and the iTunes radio section should refresh itself and ask you to "start listening". Tap that and select a station. Mine's working normal again.

  • Songs skipping like a scratched CD

A few songs on my iPod nano are skipping like a scratched CD would skip: always in the same place, making that annoying stuttering sound. They work fine in iTunes, so I figured removing that particular playlist from my iPod, syncing, then re-adding the playlist and syncing once again would fix it by making sure I had the file from my computer on my iPod.
Since that didn't work, I have no idea what to do. Any ideas? Thank you.

Might want to post this over [here|http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=154] as you clearly stated it plays fine on the computer...

  • Remove iTunes Radio songs on my iPhone

After syncing music from my Mac's iTunes to my iPhone, I am getting iTunes Radio tracks, which I never asked for and some of them are very obnoxious. How can I get rid of them?

    Robert Hutwohl wrote:
When I sync the iPhone 5s via iTunes on my Mac, the synced songs do show up in my phone, but I ALSO get songs or tracks which are clearly from iTunes Radio (not part of my song collection) and there is a cloud icon with a red, downward-pointing arrow, which indicates it is not part of my iTunes songs.
No, the cloud with the down icon indicates they ARE part of your iTunes purchases but they are not downloaded to your device

  • Itunes plays songs; skips/repeats 10 seconds in

Okay at first I thought it was just something weird with my mp3 files...
But now this has happened to over 6 of my songs.
For some reason, the song will start; and it'll play until 10 seconds; and then skip to the beginning again.
Does anyone know anything about this?

I'm having a similar problem with a couple of songs so far. They stop after 45 seconds and go to the next song.
