ITunes randomly unistalling D:
Hi guys,
Well two days ago on September 2, 2013.. My iTunes randomly unistalled itself. So, I thought this was just a really weird error. I reinstalled it and it was successful, but my music disappeared and when I tried to switch out the corrupted file for a previous iTunes file, it was a file from 2012 which didn't have any of my new music that I transferred into iTunes. This morning, I turned on my computer and saw that my iTunes was unistalled again. I'm not sure where to go with this because I haven't found any answers yet. I'm not very technical with these things but if someone could help, that would be great.
Sincerely,
iTunes User

TS1717 iTunes randomly maximizes
I've recently had an issue with iTunes randomly maximizing itself at intervals between 30 seconds and 2 minutes. Whether or not a song is currently playing, iTunes will maximize itself (even if minimized to the taskbar) and place itself on top of all other windows. This happens regardless of any level of activity; even if I leave the machine alone, the screen saver cannot engage because of this issue.
I've searched forums for this topic but I haven't found any resolution. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version of iTunes. I've tried running msconfig and unchecking iTunes under the startup tab. I have no devices connected, and I have disabled automatic syncing. I don't use Windows Live Messenger. My taskbar is at the top of the screen. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit and have all the latest updates. I'm using a Samsung Series 7 Chronos laptop.
Please help, and thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.First try resetting your iphone

I have a Windows Vista computer with iTunes 8.0.1.11.
I have noticed that iTunes randomly deletes music from my computer, i know this because, i have a mac with the same music library and there is music on my mac which is gone from my windows computer.
The file is not in the music folder, and it doesn't appear anywhere on iTunes. There isn't a notice that says, file cannot be found, it is just completley gone. I do the same updates on both computers, so it can't be that.
Why is iTunes deleting music ?
ThanksThis has been happening to my wife's itunes library as well. First I had it set to use the existing folders of music on her laptop. Then it started deleting the original music files at random. Some were songs that she had for a long time and are nearly irreplacable. So I smartened up since Itunes is kind of a crappy software and had it just copy all imported songs into the itunes folder (keeping the itunes library seperate from the original files). Even though this is basicly using twice the space, it is a sacrifice that I must make in order to compensate for really bad coding.
Now, everything was fine for a while. Last night she updated to the 2.1 itouch software and everything seemed to go fine. This morning, she added a few more folders to the itunes library (again it should be copying the music to the itunes folder). But low and behold, she starts itunes and it deleted a bunch of music from her library. Thank gawd I had it not manage her original files as I would be throwing the ipod through the wall if it had.
This is very frustrating (among other issues which I will post in a new thread). Apple needs to give us an answer as to why itunes is behaving like this. -
Hi, I seem to be having a problem with iTunes randomly launching on my mac. iTunes will randomly launch and play music and it's become rather annoying.
This issue seems to be tied to the aluminum apple wireless keyboard.
Here are some things I've noticed:
1.) If I use the regular USB keyboard that came with my mac, iTunes does not randomly launch
2.) If I turn off my wireless keyboard, iTunes does not randomly launch (meaning my keyboard is not connected to my mac via bluetooth)
3.) If in the keyboard settings, I check "Use all F2, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys", iTunes still randomly launches.
I have a feeling this is tied to the media keys and the wireless keyboard update from last month from apple. Seems as though the media keys in the bluetooth connection are somehow being 'executed' or 'pushed' and that could be causing iTunes to launch.
Anyone else experiencing this??Hello theartofmystic,
I definitely understand your concern with iTunes launching on its own. I found an article that may help with isolating and troubleshooting an issue like this.
I recommend reviewing the steps in the following article:

ITunes Randomly Renaming Songs
Ever since purchasing an Apple TV, my iTunes randomly renames a handful of songs by putting the track number in the song name. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to how it chooses which songs to alter... sometimes it will alter an album that I just listened to, or it will alter an album that hasn't been touched for months (eg. Christmas music).
Any thoughts?iTunes prefs -> Advanced - Importing.
Uncheck *Create filenames with track number*. -
ITunes randomly starting up??
Hey-
I just got my new MacBook about 1 month ago. Just recently I've had a problem with iTunes randomly opening up. I've tried quitting it multiple times, but it will just open up again. What can I do to stop this from happening??
Thanks

MacBook Mac OS X (10.4.7)The most obvious reason is an iTunes related Widget.
Disable it or them and see if it helps.

Hey,
I have been having an Issue with my iTunes Randomly Quitting / Crashing on me for about the last month.
I am not sure what the exact issue is I have re-installed my OS, Repair Premmssions.
This happens when iTunes is not doing anything. Usually when my computer is sleeping it Crashes and when i wake up I get the Error and the log.
I thought the issue was realted to Avatron Softwear - Air Display or Air Connect. I uninsatlled both. iTunes stopped crashing for about 24hrs and has started again?
Below is the one of the logs. All the help would be great.
Thanks,

It sounds like you're already on the right track with your troubleshooting steps, but there are a few more you haven't done listed here:
iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1717
I'd run through the suggested steps in there to see if that resolves the issue.
Have a good one,
Delgadoh -
iTunes randomly stops playing purchases that have previously viewed on the same hardware. It has an error message about HD. How can this issue be resolved? What information is available besides the "learn more" option that does not deal with the problem?
Many people have the same problem. However, there is little or nothing readily available to users. This problem has existed for two or more years. Does anyone have anything to offer about this disturbing problem? Thanks for the suggestion kcell. I've tried both versions
9.0.115 and 9.0.124 and both fail with the policy permission error.
I also tried with and without your crossdomain.xml file but
with the same result. It looks like this file is intended for URL
policy, instead of socket policy. Recently Adobe separated the two.
When I run with the files installed on my dev PC, it does
work, which makes sense because the flash player isn't loaded from
an unknown domain.
I did get one step closer. If a crossdomain.xml in the server
root exists and the socketpolicy file is loaded from the app folder
then the first two warnings disappear. The logs now show:
OK: Root-level SWF loaded:
https://192.168.2.5/trunk/myapp.swf
OK: Policy file accepted: https://192.168.2.5/crossdomain.xml
OK: Policy file accepted:
https://192.168.2.5/trunk/socketpolicy.xml
Warning: Timeout on xmlsocket://192.168.2.5:843 (at 3
seconds) while waiting for socket policy file. This should not
cause any problems, but see
http://www.adobe.com/go/strict_policy_files
for an explanation.
Warning: [strict] Ignoring policy file with incorrect syntax:
xmlsocket://192.168.2.5:993
Error: Request for resource at xmlsocket://192.168.2.5:993 by
requestor from https://192.168.2.5/trunk/myapp.swf is denied due to
lack of policy file permissions.
Which basically says, everything is okay, but you stay out
anyway.
PS: I found the XML schema files here:
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/fplayer9_security_02.html
and the socket policy schema:
http://www.adobe.com/xml/schemas/PolicyFileSocket.xsd.
UPDATE: When serving up the policy file on port 843 using the
example perl script then the socket connection seems to be accepted
and the connect succeeds. After that flex hangs trying to logon to
the IMAP server. -
Itunes randomly plays music when monitor turns off?
I'm having the weirdest problem ever. If itunes is open, when I turn off my monitor, my itunes randomly starts playing music. This happens if my ipod is connected or not. It's kind of annoying. Is there a option that I can turn off this? thanks.
That's not a built-in feature. You must have installed some third-party software that uses motion sensing to control iTunes.

While playing a song, iTunes randomly skips to the next song. This only happens with cirtian songs and I'm using a pc if that makes a difference. Is there a setting somewhere where I can turn this action off? This does not happen with my other computer.
Can someone explain why this is happening and how I can it to stop doing that? ThanksNow, is it synced via wireless or USB?
When I upgraded my 4 to iOS 7, I had that very problem. The phone said all my music was on it, but when I tapped on a song, it would show the icon as though it was playing and after a couple if seconds, it would skip to the next song.
Here's what I did: Reconnect and do another sync. Or, back-up your phone, do a restore and then trying syncing your files again.
I hope this helps -
Hi, I am using a MacBook Pro, and downloaded the new iTunes update. I have OS X Lion 10.7.4. It all of sudden is randomly cutting off some songs before the very end of the song. I've tried to read past posts and create new libraries and re-import the old one, but it doesn't seem to help. It is not all of my purchased songs, nor is it all of my downloaded from CD songs, it's just a particularly random set of songs (I haven't checked them all, but it happens every 5 songs or so when I play the whole library on shuffle). This never happened to me before with other versions of iTunes, and when I called the support line the guy says he has never heard of this problem before... !
I have 3000 songs, so I don't want to manually bring each one in again. I am also not super technologically brilliant, so if you have had this problem too and have a simple answer, please help !!!I have a similar problem with Itunes - the funny thing is it only does it on my Mac and not my PC running Windows 7 - seems strange the Apple software runs better on a Windows computer. There are other posts about this here on the forums that have been running for two years with no solution - and I was just about to buy a new Ipod - oh well.

Hi - I find that iTunes has been randomly deleting some content (movies or songs) from my library. I'll go to play something and it will have an exclamation point beside it. Sometimes if I "Get Info" and locate the file, it will be there, and then play fine. But sometimes it is completely gone from the library (still listed with an exclamation point, but not in the file folder it was stored in). In that case, the location in the "get info" window shows as:
file://localhost/Users/Username/.Trash/iTunes Media/Movies/Movie Title/Movie Title.m4v
Even if I view hidden files, I cannot find that folder location to move the content. The content is also not in the Trash, nor on the extrernal hard drive any more.
NO idea why this is happening, and can't figure out a pattern. Is anyone else having this issue, and/or found a solution?
As background, I'm on a MacBook Pro (2011), running OSX Lion. I sync an iPhone and an iPad2 to the iTunes library. iTunes is set to manage files automatically. The library is stored on an external hard drive accessed through a Time Machine.
Thanks to anyone that can help!file://localhost/Users/Username/.Trash/iTunes Media/Movies/Movie Title/Movie Title.m4v
But that file location is your System Trash - you seem to have a problem with the permissions on your Trashes, either in your system Trash or the hidden Trash bin on your external drive.
See if any hints in this document help to locate the trash on your external drive:
Solving Trash Problems: http://thexlab.com/faqs/trash.html
The library is stored on an external hard drive accessed through a Time Machine.
Do you mean your Library is stored on a network volume (Time Capsule)? Then network problems may be the reason for your dead tracks.

I was prompted to update itunes this evening. I did and in the process, it came up with the following error message: Service "apple mobile device" (apple mobile device) failed to start. Verify you have sufficient priviledges to start system services. I unistalled itunes completly and reinstalled but am still getting the same error message. If I click "ignore" the program will finish downloading but will not launch due to "not being installed correctly". Please help, I use this program alot with my first grade classroom and they're expecting their listening center in the morning.
Hey I finally got an older vesion of itunes to work!!! 10.7 x64 for windows 7
After uninstalling all apple products even quicktime
I had to delete everything from (program files, and program files x64, program data,)
And all downloads from apple, and I went in to search deleted other stuff from apple, and itunes
But definently not my itunes library and Playlist
Down loaded 10.7 x64 for windows 7, but checked (do not start when done)
Then I emptied my recycling bin and restarted my PC
I ran geek tech tool box same as reg cure pro, also PC Tools registry cleaner, and CC Cleaner
Then I emptied my recycling bin and restarted my PC
And wallah... It finally works, and I Love the older version anyways.
Easier to download and transfer music!!!!! -
Itunes has randomly placed some of my songs (it has done this a few times now. Not all of them but at times hundreds/thousands) in my trash and I don't know why this happens. How can I replace them back into my itunes music library? Is there a reason this is happening? What can I do so it doesn't happen again?
See Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash or

How do i get all my songs back after itunes gets unistalled?
I just recently unistalled Windows (iTunes and everything else got deleted) due to my computer issues. I have reinstalled it now but my library is cleared of songs. Is there any way that I can get the songs that are on my iPod back onto iTunes? Thanks
Windows XPYou might want to try this website

I've never used it myself so I can't vouch for it, but I've heard of a few people who have used it just fine
