ITunes recognizes iPhone but won't sync

I charged my iPhone last night and went to sleep. When I woke up all my songs were deleted and all my videos. On itunes it said your iphone could not be synced because there is not enough free space. 8.31 GB is required, 56 MB available. But I dont have any songs or videos on their, but my photos will sync to mu iPhone.

Clerify: iTunes said 6.31 MB needed and I have under Music tabs unchecked the sync and under videos I have sync videos and only checked one small video. I also unchecked sync pictures. This is all under the iphone tab when your iphone is connected to iTunes. Where it shows my iPhone memory space it is has
Other (orange) 7.16 GB
Photos (yellow) 10 MB
Free (white) 109.7 MB
When I'm on my iphone and go to iPod there is no videos or music and when I charged it last night I didn't click anything and awoke and it was all gone and could not sync it back but only sync videos.
Thank You for replying

  • ITunes recognizes iPhone but won't let me sync.

I have an iPhone 5c and when I plugged it in to sync iTunes recognizes the phone, but the little phone icon is grayed out and I can't click it. I can't access any of the sync settings or the sync button. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes but that didn't work.
using windows, iTunes 12, ios 8.1

I shut down my computer for a few hours (after already trying uninstalling iTunes and restarting my computer several times with no results) and then plugged in my phone and it miraculously works. Glad iTunes is working like it should but it's so frustrating when there's not a clear solution.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does your device connect without that message now?

  • ITunes recognizes iPhone, but doesn't show sync screen-what to do?

My iphone 3G S is authorized, has the latest software and I am running the latest iTunes as well on my MacBook.
When I connect the iPhone, the icon is visible on the left hand side pane in iTunes—under 'devices', but the screen freezes when I select the iphone icon, i.e. nothing seems to happen and I can't see anything related to syncing my iPhone.
File->'Sync iPod' item is also dimmed.
(Photos sync automatically, with no problem)
I can't seem to find any relevant info so far, because iTunes recognizes the iPhone in my case—but won't show the sync screen.

First step is to see if the problem is with the phone, the USB or the computer. For the USB make sure you are connecting to a port on the back of the computer, not to a hub and not to the keyboard. Try connecting to a different computer. If it works you have narrowed the problem. If it doesn't the problem is the phone or the cable, so try a different cable. If it works on a different computer try creating a new user on your computer, then see if you can connect when logged on as that user (you could do this first, of course).

  • ITunes recognizes iPhone but gives me error message iTunes can't sync

I always sync iPhone and iTunes on the same Mac computer.  This is the first time I received an error message on iPhone that says iTunes cannot sync.  Check iTunes for reason why it won't sync.  Except, I don't see anywhere in iTunes that it shows he error message or gives me a reason why it didn't sync?
Is there a specific place in iTunes that I would locate an error message?
I checked category iphone 4 GSM, but notice there is a category iPhone 4 CDMA.  Don't know the difference, so I just checked one.

No you cant. These are the requirements for Windows.
    PC with USB 2.0 port
Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
    iTunes 10.2 or later recommended

    iTunes Store account

  • I have an iPod Touch and got a new computer; iTunes is installed, but won't sync with my iPod properly.

I am running the new computer under Windows 7, and have tried to sync my iPod.  It uploaded the photos and videos from the iPod, but won't upload the apps or music.  The iPod is also not downloading the new music on the iTunes.  How can I sync what I have on the iPod to the computer, without losing the settings, apps and music already there?

  • ITunes recognizes iPhone, but PC doesn't

Since installing iPhone OS 3.0.1, my PC no longer recognizes my iPhone as a mobile device and I can't upload my photos. I am still able to charge my iPhone and sync with iTunes.
Is this a bug in the new OS? If so, when will it be fixed?
    Is there another solution?

You do NOT have exactly the same problem. The OP says that iTunes recognizes the phone, but the PC does not for transferring photos. Your problem is that iTunes does not recognize the iPhone. Completely different problem, and a quick search of the forum will show a lot of threads on how to resolve this issue.

  • ITunes recognizes iPod but can't sync - driver missing?

Here's the rundown. Several months ago, the complete content of the old XP machine where this iPod's library resided was migrated to a Windows 7 Home Premium system using LapLink PC Mover.  iTunes had never previously been installed on the Windows 7 unit.  iTunes appeared to be functional afterwards, but on the first and all subsequent instances of attempting to sync the iPod, clicking on the Sync button did and still does nothing.  I have tried connecting the iPod to multiple different motherboard-based and pcie-based USB ports, and to a USB2.0 external hub. (Sometimes the screen briefly flashes as though it was switching to the sync process monitor, but usually it's just no change.)  I've tried uninstalling all of the Apple software from the machine, rebooting, and reinstalling.  (When I say "all", that includes iTunes itself, Bonjour, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, and Apple Software Update, in that order.  Trying any other order produced complaints.  Quicktime is not installed on this machine; iTunes and the iPod are not used for video.)  In looking at the postings of others who have had similar issues, I found a recommendation to reinstall another driver that I have verified is not loading and is not running with the iPod hooked up:  Apple Mobile Device USB Driver.  I have tried to reinstall this driver, but it hasn't worked.  What I have come to suspect is that something in the Windows registry got borked during the transfer, and is causing the load process for the *needed* driver to fail, possibly by trying to load the old XP version.  But my registry-fu is not strong in this, so I'm looking to see if anyone else has run across this issue previously and found a solution.
    Points to note:
Windows 7, installation was a port from XP via LapLink PCMover
5th gen classic iPod 80Gb with 34Gb free
iTunes version 11.4.0.18 is installed  (This was the current version when I started trying to find the problem.)
Apple Mobile Device Support software is loaded.
Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is NOT loading, either before or while the iPod is connected.
In Device Manager, the iPod appears as a Disk Drive and as a Portable Device when connected, but does not appear in the Universal Serial Bus Controllers list.
iTunes recognizes the iPod and can access it sufficiently to verify that it does not need to be updated.
    iTunes can eject the iPod.
    iTunes cannot sync the iPod.

I can now expand the information somewhat.  On my second, very similar setup (5th gen Classic connected to Win 7/32 with iTunes 11.4.0.18) I was able to successfully do the initial sync of the iPod several weeks ago, but this afternoon, when I tried to sync it to include the music I had added recently, it failed in the same manner as the other system.  I really, really, really DO NOT want to downgrade to iTunes 12 with it's horrible antinavigation interface and lack of the very useful and needed Sidebar, but it is beginning to look like 11.4.0.18 is problematic, and I don't have an installer for anything else at present.

  • I purchased a song off iTunes from iPhone, but has not synced with Library on home computer

iTunes oh iPhone is not syncing with iTunes on home computer

Syncing is from a computer to a device, not device to computer. If you want to copy it from your phone then you should be able to do so by connecting it to your computer's iTunes and using the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option. Or you might be able to redownload it on your computer's iTunes via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage.

  • Itunes shows space on iphone but won't sync

My itunes shows 2.24GB of free space on my phone, but when I go to sync, I get a message that says,
The iPhone cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the selected items (additional 278.2 required).
When I hit OK, the sync process stops and the status bar at the bottom shows 1.62GB free space.
    It's an iphone 4 with 7.1.2, and I'm running itunes 12.1.0.71 64-bit on Windows 7 through USB.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!
    John

UPDATE: I tried clearing all music (by unchecking the sync music box), which makes itunes show 4.79GB free space in the bottom status bar, and when I hit sync, I get the following message (same as last time, but with a difference in additional space required):
The iPhone cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the selected items (additional 1 MB required).
    What gives, itunes?

  • ITunes recognizes iPhone but iPhoto doesn't??

    Hey all,
Using a new 2014 MacBook Air and a new iPhone 6...everything is completely updated. My charging cord, although it works completely fine when plugged into an outlet, seems faulty when plugged into my computer. My iPhone buzzes on and off as it keeps charging and then not charging every 2 seconds when connected to the macbook. This is an old cable from my iPhone 5.
I took the new iPhone 6 cable out of the box to use...vibrating on/off problem is solved. Now, however, iPhoto won't recognize my iPhone no matter what I do. iTunes works just fine, but iPhoto is being ridiculous...any advice? I've restarted both my computer and my phone.

    Try lauch iTunes.
    Then connect the Phone/iPad
When it asks you to trust it, say yes.
    Then try import.

  • Exhcange syncs with iPhone but won't sync with outlook at home

After hours of trying to get my iphone to sync with the exchange servers at work I have got it to work.
Now I am trying to setup my home computer to also be able to sync with my work exchange server. I can't seem to get it to work, I do the obvious (enter server info and user name) but it wont work.
In the iPhone I have the following information -
    Email - username.lasm.company.com
    Server - lasm.company.com
    Usernme - domain\username
    Password - password
    Use SSL is enabled
    In outlook I have
    Server - lasm.company.com
    username - username
but I can't get it to work.
If it helps, to access the company website it is just company.com and to access web email it is lasm.company.com/exchange but lasm.company.com will just forward you to the exchange website also.
    PLEASE HELP

Yes, this is how my exchange works. I can get my Exchange account fine using ActiveSync via an iPhone. I can access Outlook via the web on my iPhone or a Desktop PC using a web browser.
If you are entering the same settings in Outlook on your home PC as they are set on your work PC and you can't connect to the Exchange server at home it's because your work won't allow a connection from outside their network.
Ideally, you need to contact your IT department as they should be able to tell you if can configure Outlook on your home PC to connect to their Exchange server or not. However, if they won't allow it then then there is not a lot you can do.
Windows Mobile devices that run ActiveSync also sync with Outlook. Because of this you get a sync'ed version of your Exchange account on your home PC via your Windows Mobile device. At the moment iPhone/iTunes does not do this. There have been a few comments on these forums about the omission of this functionality so please use http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html and feedback to Apple if you require this. If you have a MobileMe account you can get around this problem as you can sync from Exchange > MobileMe > Outlook, but MobileMe is a subscription service.
