Itunes recognizes my device but the iPhone icon is gray and when i click on it it does nothing?
Okay, so iTunes recognizes my iPhone 5C but when i go to the little iPhone icon it's now gray instead of black and when i click on it it doesn't do anything please help i am trying to sync and now i cant because of this! Which also means i can't update my phone to iOS 8.1.2

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

When I run diagnostics, the iPod is not recognized. This occurs on both of my PCs, Desktop and Laptop. The device is a 4th Gen iPod. Always worked in the past until I updaetd iTunes. Anyone have this issue and solved it?
Disregard this... I found the issue. I have AirWatch MDM installed. For some reason, the restrictions blocked me from syncing videos. I don't know how that happened being that I am the Admin for the AirWatch MDM at my company - I made sure i allowed everything possible being that its configured for BYOD. I guess something with the update to 8.0.2 screwed with it somehow. It worked fine after uninstalling the AirWatch Profile and MDM.

iTunes recognizes my device but the device does not show up for me to work with. Any idea where I go to access to device in iTunes. Going to File/Device is greyed out.

Its 9 months old mobile and it has OS 4.2 in it.
When I am accessing wi-fi, suddenly the display went-off and then I was not able to start my phone again.
Later I tried to restore and update the Iphone using Itunes.
I have updated the Itunes.
Using hard-reset, I tried to restore the OS and did the same successfully.
After installing the same over my Iphone 3G, I didnt recieved any intimation for completion of the process, besides, I was not able to start the mobile even I have reset the OS.
when I push the wake-up button, I am able to see the Apple Logo and after some time, it goes off and remains idle with no more display.
I tried to reset OS twice, it remained the same.
Can any one help me here with this issue.
I am not even able to figure-out the cause of the problem.

In iTunes the iPhone device icon will not show up whenever I plug in a USB into my PC but the iPhone icon will show up in 'This PC' so if anyone who knows a resolution to my problem with my iTunes or PC,it would really help me.I need at least Help or some Tips.I have already tried many things to iTunes and my PC like trying to restore my PC but that do anything.Also,would it be fine if i contacted (call) Apple Support? I have a older MBP running 10.6.8 and after the recent iOS update I have not been able to sync my devices. I was able to sync an ipod, but not iphone or ipad. iTunes recognizes my devices, but sync button stays grayed. I've changed my USB hub, reinstalled iTunes and run disc cleanup. No luck.
You said that your computer will sync other iPods? Are they iPod touches? Other iPod use different drivers the the touch And iPhone and iPad).
You can try:

Does it charge? Does the iPod work?
I would try on another computer.

If I am understanding you correctly, it sounds like you are returning to an old iPhone that has been erased and you would like to set it up as a new device without restoring from a backup which would affect the name of your iPhone, as well as the contents therein. Basically, it seems like you may be stuck on a screen that is asking if you would like to restore your device from the backup that is filed under the name of your new iPhone, or if you would like to set up the device as a new device. I would suggest that you set it up as a new device to achieve your desired results.

I just downloaded and installed the new iTunes on a Toshiba Satelite of some age. It was just completely reformated and updated with XP. iTunes will not open. The terms page comes up and when I agree it disappears. I have uninstalled and reinstalled.

I downloaded garage band on my iPad ages ago but now it just says waiting and when I click on it it just says "retry" and does nothing. I've spent literally ages making songs (I've got like 20 ). How can I get it back with all my songs still there?
Thanks for that. Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.

I downloaded some software and it has to be downloaded from the internet. DL complete and when I click on the pkg to install the software I get the following msg: The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.installer.pagecontroller error -1.)
Pls help.I bought HGTV home design software. It doesnt come w/ a installer disc, it gives you a link to dl the program. I did that and was left w/ a .mpkg file that I am unable to install do to the above msg.

D/L the creative cloud upgrades fro LR 2015, PS cc and Bridge and came back a 1/2 hour later and CC indicated the d/l was complete. When I click to start LR 2015 nothing happens. I cannot get LR or PS started. Previous versions start.
