  • Transfer apps from iPhone to Mac

I got a new Mac some time ago. The first time I synced it with my iPhone I chose the option to merge the devices' data because I feared some stuff might get lost otherwise. Hence the apps on my phone were never transferred onto my Mac. Tried the 'transfer purchases' option, didn't work; except for the apps I've purchased ever since, that is. I connected my Mac to my old Mac and even though they're both authorised for my Apple ID account I couldn't move the apps to the new laptop. I guess I could delete the apps and download them again, but I paid for some of them, so that's not an option. Or maybe the main problem's the fact the data are still being merged? How do you undo that?

  • Transfer apps from iphone 3GS to iphone 4

I am upgrading from iphone 3GS to iphone 4. I have several applications and music which I have bought from apple store with my appleID. Can these apps be moved to iphone 4 if I use the same appleID... or do I need to repeat these purchases again?

You can sync as many devices as you want to the same iTunes account, there is no limit. You can have the same content on each device or different content, the choice is yours. iTunes will keep everything straight, by device, upon subsequent syncs, including separate backups. When you get your new phone, you can either restore it from the backup of your 3GS or set it up as new, the choice is yours. Afterwards, just plug it in an sync.

  • Transfer apps from iPhone to iTunes, can they be merged?

    Hello!
I'm hoping you can help me with. I purchased an iPhone 5, ios 6.1.2 for a friend and it already has some cool apps on it. My friend already has an iTunes account for the iPod shuffle for music so he has no apps or photos. The phone  to put some apps and photos on the phone then send it to him. When he connects with his iTunes will it erase the apps on the phone?

An iPhone is meant to connect to only one computer, so when he connects it he'll be prompted to erase the iPhone.  That means all apps, photos, music, etc. on the iPhone will be erased.
App purchases are intended to be used by only one Apple ID, and you cannot share apps across IDs without a lot of effort and hassle.

  • Transfer apps from iPhone to iTunes not working

I have tried this on iTunes 8.0.1, 8.0.2 and 2.1, 2.2 firmware without success. For a good while now, I installed apps directly onto to my iPhone and never bothered to sync up regularly. As a result, I have over 20 apps on my phone that are not on iTunes. Last week when I finally sycn with iTunes, it usually hung on copying the first app for a long time and if I leave it on long enough, it shows that all the apps are copied. Yet when I check iTunes apps, they don't show up. I have tried this many times without any success. Does anyone know a remedy for this?

In iTunes, go into the AppStore (not on the phone, but computer) and just redownload them. If you paid for them once already, it will NOT recharge you.
Of course use the same account you used on the phone.

  • How do I transfer apps from iPhone 4s to 5s?

    Hello,
I have a buch of apps, some of which are very important for my work. I've been reading and wrestling with a solution for several hours now. Can someone please offer some advice on this topic?
    Thank you,
    Trey

No, I am not suggesting you change any username / password.
I am only suggesting you add one as being authorized on iTunes on your computer.
I assume you have a username "User1" that is authorized on iTunes currently, and you have an additional username "User2" that owns one or more apps on the iPhone.  I assume you know both User1's and User2's passwords.
In this case, open iTunes on your computer.  Go to Store > Authorize This Computer from iTunes' menu.  Enter User2's username and password.  Then both User1 and User2 will be authorized.  Then sync.

  • Itunes removed all my apps from iphone

All my applications that weren't on iphone when I bought it have been removed from my iphone. They don't show up on my iphone app sync page but there are listed in itunes under applications. Each one has an exclamation mark next to it. How do I get them back onto my iphone? And why did this happen without my prompting?

the ( ! ) means those files were moved and iTunes lost track of them. Doug has a script http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=bringoutyerdead but i'm not sure if it will work with apps.
if you cannot locate those files at all, be aware that purchased apps can be re-downloaded for free.

  • Copying legally bought apps from Iphone 3G to Iphone 4

    Hi
I'm new to this forum, checked the latest posts but couldn't find any solution.
Is there any possibility to copy or transfer apps from Iphone 3G to Iphone 4? On both Iphone's i have IOS 4.1. I payed a lot for my apps on Iphone 3G, backed up the Iphone in Itunes, but when I loaded the back up to Iphone 4 it only copied the phone numbers and SMS. I don't feel the need to use the apps on my Iphone 3G, because I want to use it as Ipod now, so I guess it's not illegal. Is there any way to do it or I just lost my money and have to buy same apps again?

There is no device limit for the number of iPods, iPads, and iPhones that can be synced with the same iTunes library and iTunes account on the same computer and this includes 3rd party apps. If you have an iPod Touch, an iPad, and an iPhone, you can transfer the same 3rd party apps to all 3 devices. Each device can have its own sync preferences with iTunes with a backup created and maintained for each device which is updated by iTunes automatically as the first step during the iTunes sync process for each device.
All apps on your 3G should be in your iTunes library on your computer. Apps are not included with the iPhone's backup but 3rd party app settings and data created and stored by a 3rd party app is included with the iPhone's backup.
If you have Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes and this should be selected for a number of reasons, after downloading an app with your iPhone the app will be copied to your iTunes library the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so.
If this is not currently selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone 3G sync preferences with iTunes, before selecting this with the 3G connected, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of the iPhone which should transfer/copy all 3rd party apps from the iPhone to your iTunes library. After confirming all apps on the 3G are available in your iTunes library, select Sync Apps and make sure all apps on the iPhone are selected below.
With your iPhone 4 connected to iTunes, select Sync Apps followed by selecting the apps below that you want installed on the iPhone followed by a sync.
