ITunes Registry Setting Issue

Hi - I have had my hardrive replaced and had to reinstall itunes (version 10.5.2.11) on my Windows 7 PC. I have an iPhone 4S. When I install iTunes, I get an error: The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD-burning software. Please reinstall iTunes.
I have done this several times; including completing the tasks in sequance of uninstalling everything and then reinstalling - to no avail. This seems rather stupid that a fix hasn't been published for this, given that there are people on Windows 7... As you can see, it is frustrating!

Having same problem so went to apple search and now am trying to try each fix (and there are many).
I was successful once today when I used "registry optimizer" which is included in a program that iYogi installed
When I subscribed to their service.
And...in W7, go to start>accessories>right clk on Command Prompt>then type iconfig/flushdns.
However after logging back in after my lunch.......back to "Square One" !!

The only software on my computer is original cd-dvd on my hp portable with Vista. My computer now recognized itouch as a camera. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled itunes, nothing changes.

How do I make iTunes NOT check if it is the default player via registry setting?

I work in an a corporate environment with hundreds of employees that have iTunes and when iTunes is the default music player it conflicts with our Voicemail system (the voicemail system will email .wav files to people when a voicemail was left. Double clicking the .wav file from within our email client doesn't work when iTunes is the default music player).
Is there a registry setting to DISABLE iTunes from checking to see if it is the default music player?
Is there also a registry setting to set WMP as the default music player for .wav files for those people that have already set iTunes as the default music player?

Try removing and then reinstalling all the Apple software using:

HT2102 These Windows registry setting don't seem to apply to iTunes 11.x.

These windows registry settings don't seem to apply to iTunes 11.x. Are there any documents with updated registry settings? I tested the registry setting on Windows 7 with iTunes 10 and iTunes 11. There was different behavior from iTunes 11. Specifically parental controls are not locked and grayed out.

In the source list click devices (so far so good) then click the entry for your iphone or ipod. that doesn't exist. HELP asap
You don't import photos from the iPhone to your computer using iTunes.

Note this only applies to photos taken with the iPhone. Any photos you previously added to your iPhone using iTunes should be copied from old computer to new computer.

Bridge Color Management Issue - Looking for Registry setting

We have 100 people in our office. Currently, in order to enable color management, we have to go into each person's Bridge Center Color Management Color Settings panel, select our custom color settings file and hit apply. That takes care of 1 out of 100 people.
How can we automate this process...
We would like to create a script that sends a custom color setting file to individual user's stations. Does anybody know the registry setting that controls synchronization of settings on a user level?

Did you ever find such a mechanism? I am looking to do pretty much the same thing. I can get the .CSF file to the workstations no problem, but I need to set the apps to look at it for their Color Settings. My guess is that there is a registry settings somewhere, but for the life of me I cant find it.

PHP iTunes U authentication issue

I’ve been working with integrating iTunes U with Moodle. On the Moodle site there is an iTunes U block available for integrating the 2 systems. I’ve been trying to use this and I am able to get to the iTunes U site from Moodle, but I am not being signed into the site as an authenticated user. I can’t seem to figure out why. I was however able to authenticate with a Perl script.
The Moodle block has a Setting section where I fill in all my site specific information such as the Shared Secret. This is definitely working fine as I am able to get to my site without issue. But, the passing of the credentials and identity do not seem to be working because I am not being signed in as an authenticated user.
Right now my Credentials are very basic – formatted just like the sample ones – such as:
Adminstrator@urn:mace:itunesu.com:sites:example.edu (where example.edu is my school’s name).
Can anyone review the files below and shed some light on why I am not getting authenticated?

One thing to understand when it comes to credentialling is that, even if your transfer CGI (Moodle block) doesn't work ... if you redirect someone to your iTunes U site, that person will -always- carry two credentials ... "Unauthenticated" and "All". You do not have to assign the credentials ... they are automatic.
Put it this way, if I direct you to my site:
https://deimos.apple.com/WebObjects/Core.woa/Browse/uic.edu
if you click on that link, authentication or no, Apple will give you the "Unauthenticated" and "All" credentials. Anywhere on my site where those creds are good, you'll have access.
Hmmm ... maybe I can rephrase it this way ... there are four credentials that are a part of every site ...
All ... everyone who accesses your site gets this cred ... everyone.
Authenticated ... if you pass a valid iTunes U URL request for a user, he/she will get this cred.
Unauthenticated ... this cred is given whenever someone gets to your site -without- a tokenized (credentials, identity, time, signature) URL request. For example, if someone uses your site base URL without any modification.
Administrator ... this cred has total access to a site.
So if you access your site using your admin cred, you'll actually carry three creds ... "Administrator" (of course), but also "All" and "Authenticated".
So why this long discussion of creds? Well, if you're getting in with the "Unauthenticated" credential, it's a sure sign your transfer CGI (Moodle thingy) isn't working ... at all. It's not that you can't pass the admin cred ... or identity info ... you're not passing any info. And because you're not passing any info, iTunes U does the default thing ... give you "All" and "Unauthenticated" access.

If your ipod gets wet, it can cause the buttons to activate all by themselves. This can cause the volume to go up, down.
If you have a headset with buttons on the wire, check there first. Try a different set of headphones and see what the result is.
Finally, if the volume is changing a huge amount but only for certain tracks, there is an adjustment you can make on individual tracks in iTunes. Do a get info on one of the tracks doing this, then click the Options tab. Note that there is a volume adjustment slider. Make sure it is set to none.

Old registry setting (Flash9c.ocx) refuses to go! :-(

There's one Windows registry setting that contains a reference to the file Flash9c.ocx under C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\ which is so stubborn and refuses to go. Registry optimizing utilities can't alter/remove the key. When I try to manually remove the key with Regedit, appears the message 'Error while deleting key'.
I've tried going into Safe Mode, logged in as Administrator, played around with the Permission thingy, but all up to no avail. That's just like a thorn in the flesh.
Anybody ever got this issue solved, care to enlighten?

Cannot sync ipod with itunes after setting up new computer with newest version of itunes

Cannot sync ipod with itunes after setting up on new computer, only songs which tansferred were songs bought on new computer after set up, tried to sync songs and it deleted old songs from ipod. How can I get them back on ipod?? They are showing in music library on itunes still.

If the iPod database gets corrupted, it will add files to "Other" instead of where they really belong.
Restoring the iPod will erase this database and recreate it.
And if I do this, won't I just have the same issue when my iPod is re-updated to the most recent version again?
No, it shouldn't. This is why you Restore the iPod. It erases the corrupt database.
