ITunes "Released" dates on podcasts all the same and wrong.
I've noticed this going on for some time now but am just getting around to figuring it out.
In my iTunes the released dates for my podcasts always come up as the same incorrect date.
For some reason they all show a release date of January 5, 2008. Not sure if the date is significant or not.
This is a brand new computer running 10.7.2. When I set it up though I did use the migration assistant and it brought this issue from my old computer to the new one.
I've done a lot of googling on the subject and can't find any online reference to a similar problem.
Hoping there is someone on the forums that can figure this out.

First I'd set up a System Restore point. Then try applying the LNK registry fix from the following document:

Does that get your icons back to normal?

My ipod recenly froze with the last update. bestbuy gave me a replacement. the new one will not connect to the computer or itunes. i followed all the instructions and - nothing. Thanks, Bob! You are correct. And, we learned this as we spoke with APPLE TECH SUPPORT by phone on Christmas day (800-APL-CARE). One of their reps spent the time to help us troubleshoot this, but the boiled down conclusion is your answer, and to repeat for the benefit of others, here is what worked:
1. With our Belkin router set to "out-of-the-box" WEP 64 bit security, we could not get wireless access of any kind. Only with the Security Mode set to DISABLED, could we gain access.
2. Changing the router's security mode setting to "WPA/WPA-2...." and entering a new min. 8 char passphrase, and then entering that same passphrase into the IPOD Touch, and restarting the router, did the trick!
Based on this, and some info found in another posting, I can only conclude that the IPODs and IPHONES do not support WEP security mode in many generic routers used by thousands of consumers. Hopefully, those same consumers can figure out how to change their wireless router setttings to WPA/WPA-2 security mode and ALSO get all their other wireless devices (PCs, laptops, WII boxes, ROKU boxes) all reconfigured to WPA mode, too.
I THINK THE BOTTOM LINE HERE IS THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE THAT APPLE NEEDS TO ADDRESS WITH WEP COMPATIBILITY and it may also be the case that MOST CONSUMERS ARE USING WEP 64 BIT security on their home wireless routers?
In any case, it's working now, so anyone who is having problems should try changing to WPA mode and post back here if it worked for them! -

For the billionth time ... I freaking hate this app.Okay, despite the well, total lack of replies from other people, it looks like I have solved the problem. The root cause is the source XML file itself, which was not being automatically generated by a blog software or the like. I was using an old XML program called Tristana Writer, which would make changes to the XML to make it more human readable. Specifically, it would add whitespace, paragraph breaks, etc.
Most podcast/RSS software is smart enough to strip these whitespace characters out. The iOS Podcasts app, unlike the iTunes Store listings, is not. Thus, the solution for me was to do some Find/Replace in my XML file.
The old XML file would have a paragraph break and a tab after the opening of the pubdate tag and before the closing of the tag. Let me see if I can paste that in without breaking anything as an example:
<pubDate>^P
Sun, 31 Aug 2014 04:34:12 -0400
^P
</pubDate>
The solution is to remove the paragraph and the tab so that the pubDate tag line now looks like this:
<pubDate>Sun, 31 Aug 2014 04:34:12 -0400</pubDate>
Save the XML, ping Feedburner, refresh iOS Podcasts, and everything looks good again. This is definitely something that changed within the Podcasts app as of the new version, since prior versions had no problem parsing out the whitespace. -
My desktop crashed and I had to reinstall itunes software. My iphone has all my apps with their data, contacts, photos, videos & music. How can I import all of the information and data on my iphone into itunes? I downloaded one app that is a to-do-list but it indicates that if I sync with my iphone I will lose all data on my iphone and it will be replaced with the data on itunes. I do not want to lose my data! I have a lot of information and I cannot understand why Apple would not have a way to restore my data from my iphone to my itunes. PLEASE HELP!
It should be like the very first time you synced your phone with I-Tunes. It will notice you haven't synced before and just copy everything from your phone into I-Tunes. It shouldn't delete anything from the phone, at least it never has for me. It just puts a copy of everything into I-Tunes and even if you delete an app for example from your phone and you decide you want it back later, you can just go back into I-Tunes and copy it back over. Hope this helps.

My Ipod Nano 6th generation is no longer recognized by iTunes & my computer. I did all troubleshooting steps. After checking for changes and reinstalling legacy software in device manager I keep getting an error 10 message (device can't start). I'm not sure if it charged when I hooked it up to my roommate's computer, but it definately didn't register either. If I put it on the dock it plays so the port is fine, but that still doesn't help me sync it to my computer. -
I'm trying to transfer the files from my Ipod touch to my new computer. It is saying that not all of the files will be transferred because the computer isn't authorized. I have authorized it several times but it keeps bring up a previous apple id that I had but when I try to log in using that id it tells be it is no longer vailid and then it stops and won't let me transfer any files. The computer has to be authorized for the account that purcchased the media.
What error message are you getting when you try to lauthorize the computer for that account?

I somehow erased everything (all important dates) off my ical on my mac and I'm afraid that if I connect my iphone that it will do the same there. Will my iphone sync the dates that are on the phone and add them to the ical? Or will it delete everything
Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes? If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created. -

You used the data. Verizon can not see what it was sued for. However your phone can see whats apps used the data. go to settings-data usage- there will be a place that says data usage cycle. line the dates up with your cycle. then there will be a bar graph below that extend bother white bars one all the way to the left and one all the way to the right. after those are extended below that will be a list of apps, there should be one that used over 2 gb and that will show you what app used that data in her purse

Last summer I bought a music album from iTunes. I've already transferred all my purchases from my units, but somehow iTunes wants me to pay for the same album again. When I try to add it to my wish list it simply tells me that I've already bought that item.

They gave me two free song codes to compensate me for the two songs I bought, and then told me to go and buy the album at full price, but the ENTIRE TIME they COMPLETELY ignored that I was telling them that this wasn't an issue with one album but was a larger, seemingly systematic issue that other people were experiencing. Even after I got the song codes I emailed them back and said AGAIN that this wasn't an isolated feature, and they just sent me the link to the apple Feedback page (http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html) and told me to submit my complaint there. So, technically, my issue was never really "resolved," in that they never fixed the Complete My Album feature that I am aware of - or even acknowledged that anything needed fixing, but I haven't tested it since Sunday.
If it's working for you, then hopefully they fixed it! I've noticed they've updated to 10.4.1, but the notes don't indicate they're fixing anything about the Complete My Album feature, so I don't know. -

On itunes 11 I refreshed my podcasts all the prior podcasts that I've already listened to are on my list to download. You used to be able to delete right off the list but I cant seem to do that now.
