ITunes repeatedly stops unexpected

Almost every time I want to add a song to the library iTunes doesn't work anymore and I have to force closing iTunes. Anybody knows this problem?

Same problem here too. Curious to see what could be causing this. It has been happening for me for the last two years (South Park). Not too big a deal but it would be great for the auto download to work properly.

ALL of the songs I purchased from the iTunes store stop in the middle of the song and then go back to the begining (I keep it on repeat one song by the way). Please help!!! (Windows 7) I would really like to hear my songs all the way through, but I can't . I tried the "Convert Protected ACC files to Purchased ACC files fix" but it DIDN'T work. I don't know what to do. It does it when I transfer the music onto my Classic too.

  • Windows 7 - 'iTunes Has Stopped Working' Window Repeatedly Popping Up

Hi there, I've encountered a problem that I couldn't fix myself so I'm hoping someone can impart with some knowledge.
The dreaded 'iTunes has stopped working' window pops up constantly, and continues to reappear again and again. Even navigating to this forum, finding the right place to post and typing this very question is a pain as it has popped up about 7 times since I started typing it. If I leave my laptop alone for a few minutes, I come back and there's about 15 windows open saying the same thing. This is super annoying as I'm trying to get some work done, but any ounce of productivity I have is stifled by this. I am very close to headbutting the screen before I throw my laptop into oncoming traffic on the street below.
I've tried restarting the system, shutting it down and leaving it off for a bit, ending any iTunes-related processes in Task Manager but all have failed.
    I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
    HP Pavilion G6
    4GB RAM
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

  • How do i get itunes to stop asking for my password repeatedly?

how do i get itunes to stop asking for my password repeatedly?

The solution (for me at least) is to keep trying the same password  that I know is correct.  For me, the fourth try of typing in the exact same password works in iTunes on my iMac.  I have repeated this several times, and each time it works.
I also reset my password, but the same problem occurs in iTunes.  I have to type in my password four times in iTunes to get it to work.
iTunes is having issues.  I can log in easily on the first attempt every time to post on this message board and I can sign in easily on my iPad 2 to get app updates, but in iTunes on my iMac it takes four attempts and then it works.
Apple needs to release a statement to the public telling people abut this.  For Apple to know that this iTunes problem exists and that it is causing literally thousands of people to be stressed out is callous and uncaring.

  • ITunes repeatedly crashes while converting video

When I try to convert a video in my library into an iPod-compatible format, iTunes repeatedly crashes, anywhere from 5 minutes to a few hours into the conversion, and it gives me the message "iTunes has stopped working." Has anyone else had this issue, and is there a way to solve it?
    Thanks,
    Steve

  • ITunes has stopped working ...Running Windows 7(64)

I upgraded my home PC Desktop to Windows 7 earlier this year and had no trouble bringing over iTunes from my previous platform (Windows XP).
I recently returned home to the US from a work assignment out of the country and because my iTunes resides on my home PC desktop, I didn't open up iTunes for the past 6 weeks.  During this time Apple released iTunes 10.5. When I returned home, the old version of iTunes was still working. However, when I upgraded to iTunes 10.5, iTunes stopped working. The error message: "iTunes has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I have worked through the following knowlege bulletins (nothing has fixed my problem):
(a)" iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues"
    (b) "iTunes: Troubleshooting issues with third-party iTunes plug-ins"
    (c) "iTunes 10.1 for Windows: iTunes may stop working and need to quit while importing or syncing audio"
    (d) "Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows vista or Windows 7"
    (e) "iTunes for Windows: system restarts, blue screen, or quits unexpectedly when accessing iTunes Store"
the last bulletin (e), recommended ensuring that my drivers were up-to-date. So I also updated my drivers.
Lastly, I contacted iTunes Store Customer Support (although my problem isn't with the store, it is upgraded iTunes running on windows 7). They told me the issue was "outside (their) expertise" and recommended I look at this discussion board.

PS - someone recommended uninstalling Apple Quick Time Player.  I don't have Quick Time Player.

I had the same problem. I'm using 64bit Windows7. This solution only partially worked for me. I still couldn't connect to the iTunes store.
The following solution worked for me:
    COPY    QTMovieWin.dll
    FROM    c:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\apple application support\
    INTO     c:\program files (x86)/iTunes

I keep getting the message itunes has stopped working. A problem has caused itunes to stop working correctly. What can be the cause?

    Hello Main Event,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
I found this article while researching iTunes quitting unexpectedly on Windows 7 and feel it will help to resolve the issue here.
iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1717
It starts with troubleshooting 3rd party plug ins, then moves on to account troubleshooting if needed.
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any inference with plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down the Shift and Control keys while opening iTunes. If performed correctly, you should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
After clicking Continue, determine whether the issue you were experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
If you see the same issue while iTunes is in Safe Mode, proceed to the Create a New User Account section below. If you do not experience the same issue, consult iTunes: Troubleshooting issues with third-party iTunes plug-insfor steps on how to remove third-party plug-ins.
    Take care,

  • I have iTunes 11.4 and Windows 7. Using iTunes on Windows 7, I get message that iTunes has stopped working and Windows will close the program and notify me if a solution is available. Same message for last two days. Anyone else getting this?

I have iPad 2, iPhone 5s, both with iOS 7.1.2. I use PC with Windows 7 and hard wire internet service and iTunes to update apple products; no wi-fi. I updated iTunes to v11.4 on 09/11/14. I ran Windows update on 09/10/14. I did not try to open iTunes on my PC until yesterday 09/16/14. I got the message: "iTunes has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."  I got the same message today.  Does anyone know if this is a Windows problem and if a solution is coming or an iTunes problem?  I can get iTunes on iPad and iPhone.  All other programs PC are working correctly.  I use Norton Internet Service on PC.  I ran virus scans and repair/reinstall iTunes yesterday on PC.

  • Since Aug '14 MS Patch Tue, iTunes has stopped working

I have 2 instances of iTunes running on 2 different Windows 7 64bit machines. Both are crashing out since the Microsoft patches were installed on Wednesday, 8/13/14. I have uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled completely removing all Apple programs from Control Panel. I rebooted and reinstalled and it is still crashing out with 'iTunes has stopped working' and a prompt to close the program. I have also gone back to a previous restore point before the most recent MS patches. I then uninstalled iTunes, I reinstalled the MS patches, rebooted, and then reinstalled iTunes. This did not resolve the issue.

  • When I try to open iTunes,it tries to start but than I get a message stating-iTunes has stopped working , close the program. Does anyone have a problem like this? I'm using windows 7 compatibility turned off.

I'm using a Dell PC with windows 7. Apple Store cannot open completely. An error message states- iTunes has stopped working, close the program.
I have spoken to at least 3 Techs with no solutions found for this problem. Compatibility mode turned off. Newest Download from Apple site.

See HT203206: iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • ITunes has stopped working

Tried anew to install iTunes (9.1.1.12) again (I uninstalled after having upgraded to 9.X which was a very buggy release on the Windows side). But after having performed a very l o n g backup of my iPhone 3GS, it starts to do things with my songs and suddenly it displays the error message that iTunes has stopped working and that Windows will notify me when a solution is available. This repeats everytime I connect my iPhone... It seems that we will have to wait for an update as there are many comments about this realease????
Shouldn't there be a Windows 64-bit iTunes forum as well???

Have you seen this article on troubleshooting iTunes crashes.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1717
If you find the problem is user specific and it happens when iTunes is "doing things to files", then look at "check for content files with issues". Sometimes a bad file can crash itunes.

So in the last few days, I've been getting an error message when I try to sync my iPod Touch 2g with software version 3.1.2. After a few seconds, I get this error message "iTunes has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. • "iTunes has stopped working" during every startup

Every time I try to open iTunes, it says iTunes has stopped working. When I open it, it actually works for a good two seconds before it crashes. I've tried to play one of the songs by double-clicking one of the albums and it starts to play until it crashes one second later. I've even tried to open iTunes while my iPod 4G is plugged, and it's actually showing that it's starting to sync every single time. But of course, it's going to crash within a second. This has never happened until today. I've even tried reinstalling it with the latest version. What's up with that? How do I fix iTunes?
    I'm using Windows 8.1.

Try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.
If not try working through TS1717: iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues.
Otherwise for general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
