ITunes required password

Every time I turn on my iPad it now presents a pop up box that asks for my iTunes password even when I am not in Itunes....very annoying. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

I had that happen to me as well...but I did notice that it only seemed to happen when apps needed updated downloads..Then,after doing a few I stopped and went back to what I was doing...screen sign in still appeared..then,I downloaded every upgraded app and Viola!! no more signin pop ups...
Worth try anyway..

If I were you I would try to troubleshoot your connection with itunes ON the system. But for starters it is very unlikely one program like itunes blocks your connection, so I would try to disable your antivirus/firewall during download and reinstall of itunes. May be your firewalll kicks in some panic mode. Judging by your name you have very strong firewall

I assume you never got a solution. My own painful story is here:

I've given up on Lion/iCloud. I'll try Mountain Lion.

I am having similar problems with iPad 3 freezing.  It was fine before upgrade to IOS 8.  Ready to throw it out!!  No one has any answers other than the norm.  Quite often have to hold power and home key down, which doesn't solve the problem.  It just unfreezes the situation you are in.  Wish this would be solved with the IOS 8!!  Should have never upgraded, but never had a problem with Apple software before.  Getting to feel like I am back with Windows.

  • How to require password for each iTunes purchase

I'd like to setup my son's iPod Touch so that all purchases from iTunes require a password to be entered at each purchase. Currently, when the first purchase is made a password is required. However, subsequent purchases do not require the password. Is it possible to require the password each time a purchase is made from iTunes?

The only ways I know of is to take the iPod away from him for 15 minutes, or sign-out of your account after completing his purchase.
From page 133 of the User Guide, "For additional purchases made within the next fifteen minutes, you don’t have to enter your password again."
    To sign-out, go to Settings > Store > Sign-Out.

  • Itune account password requirements

where do i find Itune account password requirements?

The window I get when trying to create a new account lists the requirements as :
    - have at least one lower case character
    - have at least one capital letter
    - have at least one number
    - not contain multiple identical consecutive letter
    - not to be the same as the account name
    - be at least 8 characters
    - not be a common password
I also don't think that you can re-use recent passwords

Go to appleid.apple.com and try to login there. If unsuccessful, there is a link to change your password.

  • Itunes store password required twice

everytime i start itunes (latest version on Windows) it wants my itunes store password twice, can anyone explain this or suggest how i stop it?

    Try this,
After iTunes accepts new password, go to
iTunes Menu Store/Select Authorize This Computer.
The response is that it is already authorized.
    This will resets the authorization.

  • Itunes account password reset. icloud email unavailable...

this is a question for a friend, because obviously, i have an account to ask.
itunes account password reset because her son kept attempting to access account.
to reset password, link goes to email. however, her email was an icloud account. so it used the same log in as the itunes account.
she knows the secret question and answer to access and reset from the non-email password reset method, however, the birthday required to get to that question is inaccessible and does not work (she is a woman, and obviously lies about her age).
I'm thinking the only way around it is to either setup a new itunes account, which would erase the ipad data once that is connected ( i assume that ipads can connect with only a single account), or find some other way to access the secret question. there is no phone number listed for icloud.
the ipad is only backed up to the icloud account. she just bought a computer, so would like to make a physical backup of the ipad. I think it is unadvisable to connect the ipad and the computer, until the icloud account can be accessed.
I'm not very knowledgable of the whole icloud thing. it sounded like a good idea to back up the son's ipad since she didnt have a computer, so i gifted her the icloud account. now, i'm kind of responsible for figuring out the situation. any helpful comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

sneaky, found it sent an email to one of my email accounts as well as the icloud.
    login solved.

  • I am at starbucks and when I try to download my free music on itunes, my password is always rejected, even when i am forced to create a new one!!!  what am I doing wrong, who do I ask for help

I am at starbucks and when I try to download my free music on itunes, my password is always rejected, even when i am forced to create a new one!!!  what am I doing wrong, who do I ask for help?

Due to recent security issues and identify theft (mostly due to phishing scams), the iTunes Store seems to be requiring more frequent verification of credit card information when a card is registered in your account, even if you have a balance from a prepaid card. Either just go through the verification process or, if you have a credit card entered and you don't expect to need the card anytime soon, go into the Payment information in your account and set the payment method to "none" which should then stop the regular requirements for verification  (it may still ask - mine does - but you should just be able to click through the buttons without problems).
    Hope this helps.

  • ITunes invoice password

    Hello
I have changed my itunes password and now I am being asked for apple id and password to confirm invoicing details.  Password not accepted and I can't beyond this window that keeps popping up. I have tried disconnecting from itunes and loging back in several times and always end up back at this impasse. Any advice welcome. Thanks

There is a 15 minute period (which I think has always been there) during which it doesn't need to be re-entered, but you should have a setting (which possibly came in with iOS 5) for Settings > General > Restrictions > Require Password which you can set to 'Immediately'.

  • HT4623 Just done upgrade to iOS 7 on iPhone 4. Now blocked emergency requiring password! None of mine work then it blockeps me ;

Did update on iPhone 4 s  to IOS 701
    Now.  Phone blocked on emergency
Requiring password, not recognising any of mine, can't open phone ,when I try passwords it blocks and says not to try for 60 minutes been trying for 4 hrs!!!!!

    Hello seemeflah,
It sounds like after updating to iOS 7, you are being prompted for a passcode to unlock your phone. Take a look at this troubleshooting from the article named:
iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
If you have previously synced your device with iTunes, you may be able to reset the passcode by restoring the device:
Connect the device to the computer with which you normally sync and open iTunes.
Note: If iTunes asks you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer" section below.
If the device is still disabled, or if iTunes does not automatically sync your device, sync the device with iTunes.
If you have chosen to encrypt your backup, it will contain the passcode. Disable backup encryption before restoring from backup. Learn more about iOS backups in iTunes.
When the backup and sync is complete, select Restore from Backup and choose the most recent backup of your device.
If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer
If you see one of following alerts, you need to erase the device:"iTunes could not connect to the [device] because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the [device] before it can be used with iTunes."
"You haven't chosen to have [device] trust this computer"If you have Find My iPhone enabled, you can use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.Alternatively, place the device in recovery mode and restore it to erase the device:
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • I want to put music on my iPhone 4, but am not able to because I can not download the version of iTunes required because my mac computer is too old.

Am just having troubles in adding music to my new phone in that when I connect it to my computer it says that the phone requires the new version of iTunes being 10.5, but when I go to download this for my mac computer it says that this version of iTunes requires a different mac, meaning that my computer is too old.  So I am just wondering how I can get music onto my phone?!

You will have to upgrade your operating system version and possibly your whole computer.  We cannot provide more information easily until we know more about your system.
Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac", then "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
Apple does tell you about required equipment for the iPhone -- in 8 point medium gray type on a light gray box.   The Store associates kind of automatically assume everybody is running a new model computer and the one I met when we bought our iPhone had never seen a pre-2008 Mac and was somewhat puzzled why anybody would own such an antique.

  • Updated iTunes - Requires QT Update - I'm S.O.L. Catch 22

    Hello,
I just updated my iTunes software, and it told me I had to update the QuickTIme to run it as well.
I tried to update my QuickTime and it tells me I can't update it with my OS.
Now my iTunes will not work at all. What can I do?

    Hi, thanks for the response.
Yes, I am running that machine with that software.
When I try to run iTunes, this is the response I get:
iTunes requires QuickTime 7.3.1 or later. For more information on upgrading your computer, visit http://www.apple.com/quicktime
When I select my HD to install the latest quicktime, and this is the response I get:
You cannot install QuickTime on this volume. This software requires MacOS X version 10.5
    I'm somewhat stumped.

  • What to do when your iPad keeps asking for the iTunes Store Password

I was using my iPad last night when it just started asking for my iTunes store password and I was browsing the web in safari. I just entered it and scratched my head. Later I was playing a game - the same prompt interrupted the game.
    http://skitch.com/mbrad/dru2p/full-screen
It happened about five times before I finally went to the settings app and signed out of the app store. I don't think it's related to any one app since the prompt was happening at seemingly random intervals no matter what I was doing (even on the home screen with no app "running")
Signing out seems to have corrected the problem. Apps still run and I will try signing in again later once I need to download anything. I haven't done much other than update 5 apps earlier in the day.
Does anyone else have experience on what caused this?
    Here's what it's not:
    1) Time - I checked the date/time on the iPad - they were within seconds of my mac which sets time automatically on the internet.
    2) Password wrong - I downloaded a free app from the store app on the device after entering the password - so the password was fine for a purchase/download after the prompt. (Yet the prompt came back again within 30 minutes)
    Thanks,
    Mike

Thanks for the suggestion! I did have two downloads for free songs I got from a card at Starbucks. They started but never came on my iPad (and that was 4 days ago). The store error is happening only yesterday - possible but a long time after the "failed download". I just got those songs after your suggestion on my mac by checking for available downloads. Maybe that was the root cause?
Add rebooting to "here's what it's not" - I forgot to write that down. Also - I was not interested in restoring the iPad - like taking a firehose to water a flower, that certainly would fix it at cost of overkill. (and maybe only until the backup was restored if the file causing the issue is something that would be backed up).
The problem seems to be that the device either doesn't save the password or something is causing it to be periodically marked as bad. Both ideas have me scratching my head. Rebooting didn't resolve the issue - only signing out from the store.
