ITunes requires safari 4.0.3 or later...
<p style="padding: 0pt; margin: 0pt;" mcestyle="padding: 0pt; margin: 0pt;">iTunes requires safari 4.0.3 or later to be installed to use the iTunes store within iTunes. That is the message I get. I just had Leopard 10.5.6 installed ( at the mac store while getting optical drive repair ). After being prompted by the software updater several times, I got around to doing the updating today. iTunes 10.2.2 was installed. Now I keep getting this message when I try to go into the store. The problem is the 4.0.3 requires Leopard 10.5.7. I can't upgrade higher than 10.5.6 at this time due to use of some hardware that only works with up to OS 10.5.6. I can't believe this can be true that one would be locked out of the iTunes store unless using a specific version of safari. Please tell me this is a mistake and there is a way around this. Thanks in advance for help...

How do I block this msg from always popping up "iTunes requires Safari 4.0.3 or later to be installed to use the iTunes Store within iTunes. Use Software Update to download and install the latest version of Safari". I cannot download this software bc my lap top is to old. The msg literally pops up everytime I make any moves on itunes and is VERY annoying.

'iTunes requires Safari 4.0.3 or later to use the iTunes store within iTunes'
In iTunes 10.5 on my Mac OS X 10.5.2, this message keeps popping up;
"'iTunes requires Safari 4.0.3 or later to use the iTunes store within iTunes"
This pops up every 5 or so seconds, so its really annoying if im trying to listen to music. There is no 'don't show this message again' option so its really getting on my nerves! The only way to get update Safari is though a software update and I am scared that if I do a software update, my Mac could crash again, like it did the last time and I had to spend €130 to get it fixed!
My question is:
1) should I do a software update and
2) how can I stop this message apart from updating?
Thanks in advance,

ITunes 10.2.2 requires Safari 4.0.3 or later to be installed
I am running Mac osx 10.6.7 and I have updated Itunes to 10.2.2 and I am getting the "iTunes requires Safari 4.0.3 or later to be installed to use the iTunes Store within iTunes. Use Software Update to download and install the latest version of Safari." message.
I have read many articles on how to fix this, however now I am stumped because I have updated all my software and yet it still gives me the message.
Any suggestions?I dunno. If it was me, I'd download and install both programs again. This won't affect your data.

ITunes Requires Safari 4.0.3
Hi -
When I try to go to iTunes store in iTunes 9, I get a message that says:
iTunes requires Safari 4.0.3 or later to be installed to use the iTunes Store within iTunes. Use Software Update to download and install the latest version of Safari.
I tried to follow the directions, and Software Update says that there is no software to be installed. When I checked my Safari version, it says 4.0.3. Why is this happening? Any ideas?
Thanks!
-Adam MiskiewiczHmm…more data points. If I access my private iTunes U site (I am my school's iTunes U admin), I can get access to "iTunes U in the iTunes Store" by clicking on the "iTunes U" button in the new segmented control/tab bar (where the breadcrumbs bar used to be). So, again, it appears as though iTunes U (private, public and iTunes U in the iTunes Store) does not yet participate in the new store's setup. Again this makes me think that the new store sends some kind of client-side script (JavaScript?) that checks my Safari version and that that code does not correctly determine that I'm good-to-go?
Just thinking out loud. -
ITunes requires Safari 4.0.3 message box
Hi !!
I usually got this message box after I open iTunes 10.1.1
"itunes requires Safari 4.0.3 or later to be installed to use the i Tunes store. Within iTunes.
Use de software update and bla bla bla..." And I've opened the software update and I doesn't solve the problem...
Well I got Safari 4.0.3 installed already
I've uninstalled iTunes and installed it again, and the message from iTunes persists.
I've downloaded safari 5.0.3 Snow Leopard, I was trying to install it and a message pops up
saying that I can't install Safari on this machine.
Do got something in mind ?
Thanks!!
Ruii'm having the same problem... OS 10.5.6 and iTunes 10.2.2 1) I'm mad that this is happening. Seems really silly ( putting it nicely ). 2) I'm more angry that there are no answers here.. So we upgrade and are now locked out of the iTunes store? I can't use safari 4.0.3 because that requires OS 10.5.7. I can't upgrade to that just yet as I would have to spend $ on updating hardware I'm using that only works with up to OS 10.5.6. Are there yet any answers out there?

=New version of Quicktime installed but application reports it needs to have that version installed=
Open Application > Utilities > System Profiler and check the Quicktime version in Frameworks vs. the version in Applications. I recently helped where the person had re-installed their operating system. It had kept the newer Player application but had reverted to an earlier version of the underlying support framework that works with many applications. Re-installing Quicktime 7.7 took care of the problem.
Installation get stuck at "configuring installation" - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2592979?threadID=2592979 - uninstall Quicktime before installing. -
ITunes Requires Safari 4.0.3 to Access Store: Help??
I have had a recent problem with the iTunes store after updating to iTunes 9.1 and Safari 4.0.5 (from 3.2.something). Though I am sure I updated Safari, I get a recurrent message that I need to update Safari to at least 4.0.3, but I already have done this!! I heard a new version of webkit may be to blame, and have tried to reinstall both applications, but it says "this volume does not meet the requirements from installation". I am afraid to totally delete iTunes or Safari for fear that I'll never be able to get it back. Any input is appreciated.
You can download Safari again and install it. You don't need to delete anything.
Get it here: http://www.apple.com/safari/download/
Be sure to choose the Tiger version:
You'll also need Security update 2009-002 or higher.
The Intel version is here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL817
The PPC version is here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL818
Lastly, you need cookies enabled in Safari, at least for sites you visit. You can set that in Safari > Preferences > Security as shown here: -
I have updated all my software, my ITunes content is available in my music and video files, but I click on ITunes and it doesn't open, it continues to give me the message that I ned to update quicktime, quicktimes has been updated, and even Quicktimes Pro has been purchased and installed. What can I do?
You stated; "I increased my hard drive RAM"
I don't understand how you can do that. Please explain.
