ITunes restored my iPod and wiped everything. Is there any way I can get it back?

I just synced my iPod with a brand new computer. The sync wasn't fully complete and I got a message from iTunes saying that my Ipod was in distress, and that I couldn't use it or Itunes unless I restored it back to factory settings. After trying unsucsessfully to get this message off both my computer and iPod screen, I restored my iPod thinking that my iPod had been backed up earlier in the sync. It hadn't. All my pictures, videos, music, and apps, that I don't have saved anywhere else are gone. Is there anything I can do??

if you have itunes on your PC/MAC sync the replacement iPhone using the last backup from the defective device
