Itunes restoring

hiya guys, i want this issue to get resolved as soon as possible as i currently have no phone to use, basically my iphone 5c automatically turned off and the itunes cable was being displayed on the iphone 5c, i then connected the iphone to my itunes on my laptop.. It then discovered an iphone in recovery mode and was telling me to restore it and that an update is available.. I then followed the procedure the update was done perfectly fine and the software was extracted perfectly fine however once the iphone began to restore 30 seconds later it just pops up with a box saying 'The iphone could not be restored, an uknown error occured (14)' i have tried a different usb port and checking for new itunes updates but i am already on the lates itunes software. Would appreciate any help...

Check USB connections
Related errors: 13, 14, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1611, 1643-1650, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response,” and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you checked your connections and are still seeing the error message, check for hardware issues.

I solved my own problem. Hopefully this will help someone else.
I did a DFU restore, then started it up as a new phone on iTunes. Everything loaded properly, then from iTunes did a restore from backup, selected the one I wanted and it still took me to the same screen with 3 options of restore. I chose the start up as new phone from the actual phone and after all the syncing was completed, my phone is back in working order.

How i saved my ipod from the itunes restore loop

this is a success story, i hope it will help others to save their ipods too. my ipod is a black 30gb 5g (late 2006) whereas my system is leopard 10.5.4 and itunes 8.0.2. but i'm sure it will also work with another ipod, mac os x and itunes version.
*what happend:*
my ipod fell on the floor from about one meter height. it was not the first time that's why i didn't really worried about any damage. but this time it was different.
*the symptoms:*
my ipod showed a white screen with the text "Connect to your Computer. Use iTunes to restore.". i connected it to my mac, the ipod mounted on the desktop with a generic white harddisk icon. then i started the restore process inside itunes. after about a minute the ipod restarted and instead of showing me an installing-progress-bar the ipod showed me the same white sceen again. after the fourth or fith restore i realized that i was cought in the itunes restore loop.

*the solution:*
i searched the internet and came across a lot of articles that described the same problem as mine but none solved it. then i stumbled over a very useful post in the forums. it proposes a lot of solutions. maybe it is useful to read it before you continue with my post: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=4531234
+note: the following procedure will delete all the data on your ipod.+
1. connect your ipod to your mac. wait until it is mounted on the desktop. if the ipod isn't mounted put it in disk mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1363
2. ignore any message from itunes and open the "Disk Utility" application inside your "Utilities" of the "Appplications" folder.
3. choose your ipod in the sidebar. switch to the tab erase.
4. choose "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" as volume format. leave the other options as is.
5. click on the "Security Options …" button. in the sheet choose "Zero Out Data" and click on "OK".
6. click on the "Erase …" button and wait for about two hours. it will take longer on a bigger harddisk.
7. the earse will end with an error message telling you something about invalid data. ignore it. this is because the harddisk can't be partitioned without the correct drivers form the firmware.
8. eject your ipod and reconnect it to your mac. itunes should now start with a message "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes". click on "Restore" and wait.
9. after a moment the ipod should restart and an installation progress bar will appear. do not disconnect the ipod and wait until the install is complete.
10. the ipod will restart and now you should get back your normal ipod interface. congratulations, you saved your ipod!

Can you tell me if you do this will I lose the TV shows that I have purchased and downloaded on ITunes 7.0. I am having serious problems installing CD's. Everytime I open the new version and install a CD, my computer keeps restarting and then says there was a serious error to my computer. Sometimes, it mentions DVD 43, and sometime it mentions a video device driver, my this is a new computer not even two months old. I have the old version still installed on my laptop and was wondering about moving it over to the main PC, but would hate to lose my purchases.

If we choose icloud, the info will be restored, but the apps on the ipad should be downloaded from app. store! because icloud can't save the applications. and If we choose to restore with itunes, the apps will be loaded quickly ,But still we need our info in icloud. and if we go to icloud backup , from ipad settings, we just have one choice: back up now! that backs up the new info, not our backed up info. but we need our backed up info.

It restored the backup that was made on your computer 6 months ago, which did not contain those photos. You're wasting your time trying to find them on the phone. They don't exist.
Hopefully, your friend syncs her phone to her own computer on a regular basis. She needs to plug her phone into her computer and restore it from her last backup. That will restore it to the state it was in when the backup was made.
She also needs to get in the habit of extracting the photos on a regular basis, like she would from any other digital camera.

Ipad suddenly runs only in a low resolution. Did an itunes restore, but still same problem.

Ipad2 is stuck in a low resolution, icons are large, can't see normal screens. I shut down and restarted the ipad but did not help. Did an itunes Restore, but still same problem. It's like the resolution is now stuck at a high resolution. Anyone seen this problem?

Your media is only where you put it.
If you have failed to maintain a backup, then you may seriously be out of luck.
Apps can be redownloaded as many times as you like.
If you are in the US and running iTunes 10.3 or later, then it is possible to redownloaded music via iCloud from the purchase history in iTunes.
Outside the US, you can try contacting iTunes customer support. Just keep in mind they are under no obligation to assist simply because the customer failed to maintain backups of the customers purchased content.

I have re-installed itunes, restored my ipod, tried syncing under another users account and everything else I can think of. It syncs ok upon initial start-up but then when I tryp to select podcasts or music to sync to it, itunes crashes. Now that I restored my ipod, I can't even get my old podcasts much less add new ones.

I recently had my iphone stolen. I have the phone locked with the 4 digit passcode. I have not wiped the device, so if it's turned on again, it can be found and located. If I buy a new phone, can I restore it just like the old phone? I'm not certain if I have manually "backed up" the device. I've "synced" it recently, but am not sure if it backs it up when you sync it. Point is: Can iTunes restore my phone without having the device or having it previously manually backed up?
