ITunes ringtones creation

When I use iTunes (last version) and I try to create a ringtones, an error message appear : "can't connect to iTunes Store" (error 11556)
So iTunes can connect to iTunes Store, because I buy my music on iTunes Store.
How can I solve this problem ?
Thanks.

Unless something's changed in the last couple of days, Apple has not been able to obtain licenses to sell ringtones anywhere but in the US as of yet. There are other ways to create ringtones, though; just search the web for "iPhone ringtones" and you'll find lots of information.
Regards.

Why can't I veiw my itunes ringtone history on my iphone !?!

With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

  • ITunes Ringtones to non-iPhone?

    .
Is there a method to use the your iTunes ringtones on a phone other than the iPhone? Say...a KRZR or BlackJack II?
    .

Well, unfortunately you can't use downloadable ringtones because they are specially formatted for the iPhone only. There is a way to do it manually for free. This is what u need:
    1 blank cd (rewritable ok)
software for ur phone (or for smartphone just drag and drop)
    USB/FireWire connection+ ur phone
    cd burning capable drive
    windows OS(operating system)
    iTunes
First, right click the song you would like as a ringtone in ur itunes library, click get info and go to the options tab. There are two checkboxes, start time and end time. Check both. Change the start time to the desired time. ( when main chorus starts, etc.) (you may need to experiment with this a bit to get it just right by exiting the window and checking where the lyrics are and entering the time in the start time box.. Don't forget the colons) to get even more detailed u could enter a start time such as 2:35:56(2min,35sec,56millsecs). This makes ur ringtone sound professional. Now as soon as the info is entered for the start time, do the same for the end time, concentrating on the end main lyrics. Keep experimenting with the song until it sounds like a ringtone to ur liking. (remember, a standard ringtone lasts from 15-30 seconds, so keep it about 20 seconds or so. Or else it will cut off.) when u are done, create a playlist(just a regular playlist) and drag and drop the song into it. Name the playlist anything that u would like(this is basically going to be the digital name of the cd)now before u burn anything, I recommend adding a few more ringtones so u dont waste a cd. Also, before u burn if u have any questions up to this point make sure u respond in this message. When u are ready, insert ur blank disc( u may get a message pop up saying how to burn the disc, just close it and exit any autoplay pop ups)click burn disc in the lower right hand corner and it will burn the song(s). When it is finished, choose to import the songs to ur iTunes library. Something will pop up at the end saying that you have duplicate songs, DO NOT click replace or delete to recycle bin. It will delete ur original song otherwise. Just keep both files. Now the songs are imported, u can now find them in ur iTunes music folder under the artist name and drag and drop the files to ur device. ( copy it) if u use a certain software, navigate to the iTunes music folder and select it and drop it into the program when it gives u the option to do so. Ok well I hope this helps u somewhat and if u need any help, just reply or email me and I'll help u asap. Good luck(by the way, changing the start time or end time won't change the song perminately until u burn it. So when u finished burning the song and u confirm that everything works, make sure u go back to the original song in ur library and uncheck the start and end time boxes, otherwise any iPod u connect and automatically sync will sync the edited song.)

  • ITunes RIngtone Feature?

I followed the Apple Help instructions on how to create a ringtone for my iPhone by using a song purchased from iTunes. Every song that I bought could not be made into a ringtone. When I chose "create ringtone" a meassage appeared stating that "this song can no longer be made into a ringtone". Then I tried every single song that I have purchased from iTunes in the past month and none of them worked.
Maybe I missed the warning but I didn't see any mention of this in the Apple Help instructions or at the iTunes store before purchasing the songs. So I guess it's just buyer beware? Awesome way to waste money! Please tell me I am totally off base, jumping to the wrong conclusion and that there is a simple solution that I missed. Thanks!

If you turn on the 'RingTone' column in the iTunes store, you can see if a track can be made into a ring tone before you buy it.

  • HT3951 how do I get a itune ringtone to be ringtone on my iphone 5?

I found a ringtone in the iTune store, purchased same, it downloaded as music on my iphone 5, i want to use it as the ringtone for my iphone. How do I get it be a ringtone?

You have to create the ringtone.  Google will find several ways to do this.
The only place to buy ready made ringtones is from the ringtone section on the iphone itself.

  • Itunes ringtones and text tones not working??

I downloaded a ring tone and a text tone, from the itunes store, and it was working great for about three weeks.  I lost charge on my phone yesterday and soon as I powered back up the default ringtones have seemed to take over even though my tones are set to the two tones I downloaded.  any answers to why? or is there a fix available? I also have the latest software update iOS 8.1.2 on my iphone6.

Try doing a hard reboot of the iPhone
    1. hold the power and home buttons down
    2. you will see the "swipe to turn off" screen come up... KEEP HOLDING THE BUTTONS
    3. The screen will go black (turn off)... KEEP HOLDING THE BUTTONS
    4. A white Apple logo will appear on the screen, now you can release the buttons. Left the iPhone boot... should only take a couple minutes.

  • .m4r file on desktop - how do I get it into iTunes "Ringtones"??

I've found a number of web sites with detailed step by step instructions on how to convert an old MP3 ringtone file into an ACC format .m4r file so that I can use it for an iPhone ringtone.  No problem with that part.
I now have a .m4r file sitting on my desktop (Mac Pro, Mountain Lion).  I open up iTunes and go to the "Ringtones" area.  There is nothing there because I've never had any ringtones on an Apple device before today (and never purchased any from iTunes store).  When I try to drag the .m4r file in, I get the green button with a + in it, but no matter what I do, the file isn't imported into iTunes.  A number of the instructions you find online say you double click the icon on the desktop and it automatically imports.  All that does is to start playing the file in iTunes (which is the behavior I would have predicted, since it's a music file).  I've also tried "File >> Add to Library" from iTunes, and that doesn't do it either.
Am I missing some crucial step here??  Apple tech support can't help (just hung up with them).
    Thanks!

How close is it to the 30 second ringtone limit? I'm clutching at straws here, but I guess iTunes could refuse to process it if it's > 30 seconds??
And you can confirm you did the following (assuming that you are creating a ringtone from an MP4 already in your iTunes library):
    1. Adjust the MP4 file's length to be < 30 seconds (and played it in iTunes to confirm that it was only 30 seconds)
    2. Right-clicked the MP4 and selected "Create AAC version" - to create a duplicate of 30 seconds or less. Confirmed that it plays.
    3. Right-clicked the newly created 30 second clip and select "Show in Finder"
    4. Drag it to your desktop.
    5. Deleted the 30 second clip in iTunes (to remove the reference from your iTunes library.
    6. Changed the file on your desptop to .m4r and clicked "use .m4r" when you were prompted.
If you've done all this, there is no reason that I can see why it shouldn't import. Try dragging and dropping it from your desktop into iTunes.

I purchased an Album of Ringtones from iTunes directly to my iPhone 4S, and they do not appear in my Sounds Settings, and therefore, I cannot use them.
How do I use them?  I've googled this, and I found that I needed to go into my iTunes, Device, Ringtones...but I do not have a Ringtones Tab in my iTunes.  CAn anyone help me? Thanks

Sync your Ringtones from Tones library over.
Connect your device to computer.  Select your iPhone under 'Devices' on iTunes left Pane, then on right Pane, go to Tones tab and make sure SYNC TONES box is checked and click the SYNC or APPLY button on the lower right Window

  • There are no bells on itunes ringtones

alright so i would love to make a ringtone but so far there is not one dam bell i bought songs i looked all over the store just for one i live in canada i just dont get it someone said it doesnt work for canada yet?

I don't believe the iTunes Canada Store has ringtones available yet.
It took several months at least after the first generation iPhone was released for Apple to work out licensing with those that own the distribution rights for iTunes content with the U.S. iTunes store.
I don't believe this is available in Europe yet either.
You can create your own ringtones with non-DRM protected music.

  • Itunes ringtones category non existent!

Im using the new Mac desktop and my itunes is up to date, for some reason I don't have a ringtones category?? And when I plug in my iphone, that also doesn't have a ringtones category?? Can someone help!

Hi.I have Ringtones in my iTunes Library okay, but it doesn't present as an option for my iPhone settings - ie. When my iPhone is connected to iTunes it has the following tabs: Summary; Info; Apps; Music; Films; TV Programmes; Podcasts; Photos.
But no Ringtones even though I have selected (tick box) this to show in the preferences set-up. I think it used to be there as a tab but has now mysteriously disappeared, not sure if I did something to remove it one time? But I don't know how to get it back as a tab??
    Any help/ideas would be great!

  • Ringtone creation sign in loop

Ok, I have tried everything I can think of to create a ringtone in iTunes. Everytime I click the bell and chose create ringtone iTunes asks me to sign-in. I sign-in and it asks again and again. My password and user name are correct. I downloaded the free song of the day like another user suggested and updated all agreements. I also reinstalled iTunes. I have done everything I can think of! Please help, I want better ringtones.

This is a ridiculous situation. I spent over talking to Apple "Tech Support", who now seem to be fully staffed by teenage punks who couldn't solve a problem as complex as "What would your exist strategy be from a wet paper bag". After 3 of them couldn't operate their phone system well enough to avoid hanging up on me or telling me it was because I run iTunes on Windows system (This after them taking the serial number of my MacBook Pro and OSX rev!!!), asking me to reinstall iTunes, delete the iTunes plist, changing my iTunes store password, Nothing.... No Change.
Apple needs to get used to actually supporting their customer base if they want to be a serious contender for the home, the student and where the real money is, the Enterprise....

  • Download iTune ringtones to iphone from a PC

I have just visited all of Dante's rings trying to download ringtones from iTunes to my iphone through a Windows XP SP 2.x PC. iTunes claimed it was "synching" with my iphone during the transaction, but actually installed them on my hard drive. Now Windows won't recognize my iphone as a peripheral device so I can't upload them to my iphone. I'm not familiar with the Apple operating system and am floundering in the Apple and iTunes support systems. Can anyone help me? Its not the money...its the ringtones. Thanks! And can anyone get these guys to talk nice to each other. There's some of us who like products from both.

That is well explained in the iPhone User Guide.  There is a bookmark to it in your Safari app.  In addition, you can download the iPhone User Guide as a free iBook from the iTunes bookstore.

  • ITunes ringtones disappear after update

My ringtones which were purchased thru iTunes Store have disappeared even after doing the iOS 8.1.2 update, how do I get them back

    Hey Chrizjb,
That definitely sounds frustrating! Try using the restore ringtones link in the following resource (visit this link from your device that is updated to iOS 8.1.2):
    iOS 8.1.2
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1758
    8.1.2 Release
This release includes bug fixes and addresses a problem where ringtones purchased through the iTunes Store may have been removed from your device. To restore these ringtones, visit itunes.com/restore-tones from your iOS device.
