ITunes ringtones disappeared

I have about 3500 songs on my iTunes and of them only about 20 were available for ringtones. Disappointing. But now there are none showing ringtone status. My options have been checked to show ringtones and my computer has been authorized. Any ideas?

There is no file or folder that says "Previous iTunes Library." There are three files named iTunes Library, the two damaged ones and I guess the current one. There is a folder that's named iTunes Music, and the ringtones are in there. Still don't know what to do!

My ringtones which were purchased thru iTunes Store have disappeared even after doing the iOS 8.1.2 update, how do I get them back

    Hey Chrizjb,
That definitely sounds frustrating! Try using the restore ringtones link in the following resource (visit this link from your device that is updated to iOS 8.1.2):

  • Is anyone else's iTunes ringtones disappearing

i downloaded 2 ringtones and they were working fine I wake up this am an they are gone downloaded again and again went away I have iPhone 6 plus running 8.1.1

OK, I've found some more information. There is definitely a bug in the current data being pushed to the iTunes app.
What happens is that if you have Genius as the selected view on one page (either Music or Movies) and then quit the app, when you come back into the app, the buttons allowing you to choose between Genius, Featured and Charts are not shown on that page. However, if you go to the other page (either Music or Movies), select Genius on that page, and then return to the page with the problem, the buttons will then have appeared.
You should then go back to the other page and select a view other than Genius before quitting the app.
The app clearly stores state when you exit, and it is using this state information wrongly when you restart the app. Rebooting the iPad will not fix this.

    Hey Danmar5858,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, all of your ringtones are no longer on the iPhone. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

  • Ringtones Disappear after upgrading to iOS 5 and sync (Solution)

    Hi guys,
For those who have the problems of ringtones disappearing in the iphone although you have them in itunes.
I encounter the problem after upgrading to iOS 5 and after the backups.
But i somehow manage to solve the problem after a few trials and errors.
    What I did was....
First I remove all the ringtones from my iphone by unchecking all the ringtones in itunes b4 i sync.
After that I choose "Sync all ringtones" and the problem is solved.
Hope this will help you guys.

I am having this same issue.

  • My App store and itunes has disappeared from my iphone

My app store and itunes apps have disappeared from my iphone.
I suspect Apple is responsible and is trying to force an upgrade. Does anyone know if this is true? because if it is we should object to this.
The upgrade on my ipad was such a horrible experience, I don't want to do it to upgrade my iphone. (Upgrades have been a nightmare every since the itunes interface was changed. In my view, iTunes is the now one of the most unintuitive interface imaginable - [bar windows 8]. Prior to that it was generally easy to do upgrades and backups without hiccups and the interface was great. Now its too obscure to find what you need to do.)
I have been an Apple fan since the original Apple computer - but am not very happy with recent changes that affect use-ability and reliability.
General grumbling aside - every time you upgrade, you have to reload all of your apps; and a lot of favorite apps won't work with the new system. That's another reason I don't want to upgrade.
Without the App and iTunes application - you can't selectively update the apps you want to update or even access your music.
    Questions:
    1. Does anyone know why the Apps and iTunes apps disappeared? (I'm not the only one complaining about this.)
    2. Does anyone know how to get them back without having to effectively erase your phone and start over?
    3. Does anyone know how to get iTunes on the computer to recognize your iiphone when the itunes app disappeared off it?
    Thank you.
    DD

    Hi Dahveed,
Thank you again for the advice. But, rebooting did not help.
In the end I was forced to upgrade.
I am relieved to say that this upgrade went very smoothly compared to other upgrades.
I did not have to re-download apps and they appear to be in their normal folders - except a new app page 2 (after the primary page) appeared containing only the missing apps. This was not there before.
Answer to the disappearing Apple App Store and iTunes Dilemma:
The answer to this problem unfortunately appears to be to upgrade the system.
In my experience the Apps (which presumably are removed to force the user into an upgrade) then re-appear.
On the positive side, at least on this occasion, it did not turn out to be a nightmare make work project.

  • When I downloaded the newest version of iTunes, my previously downloaded music in iTunes library disappeared on my computer?  There was no warning of this happening.  What do I do?

Ok, so I downloaded the newest version of iTunes on my home PC, and the previously downloaded music in my iTunes library disappeared on my computer.  What happened?  I can sync my iPod but I am not sure how long ago I synced it so I may be missing some music downloads.  Why did this happen, and more importantly, why didn't iTunes warn me it could happen and advise me to sync with another device before the download?  I am not very happy about this and it's a huge issue for iTunes if this is happening.  It makes me very wary of iTunes.

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps then you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

  • After updating to iOS 8.0.2 the App Store and iTunes have disappeared, is anyone else having this problem? Help please!

After updating to iOS 8.0.2 the App Store and iTunes have disappeared, is anyone else having this problem? Help please!

Well, if they have truly disappeared then something is really messed up. For really messed up stuff, you need to set it to factory default condition, and then afterwards, restore it from your backup.

  • Purchased ringtones disappeared after Transferring to computer

I just purchased 4 ringtones from my iphone4. Afterwhich, I hooked it up with iTunes and clicked 'Transfer purchases'. Of the 4 ringtones, only 1 is listed in my iTunes Ringtone and Puchased folders. The 3 are also gone from my iphone.
I've never had issues with Transferring purchases.  I can't understand why only 1 purchase moved to the computer AND stayed on my iphone.  Where did the other 3 purchases go?
    Please help! Thanks.

I have same issue.  I have done the checklist from iMore website -- all techniques do not work.  I followed the steps, but the "remove and sync" does not appear.  I also did "restore from backup"; still did not work.  The ringtones were NOT restored on my iPhone 6 (iOS 8.1.1).
Apple will have to do another update to fix this issue and refund the purchase.

  • ITunes background disappeared!

I'm not sure what happened here, but the background for iTunes has disappeared. I can still see the songs and menu, more or less, but I'm seeing my desktop (or whatever window I have open) in the background. This is a pain, because I can't drag and drop anything to or manage my iPod. Not to mention, it looks terrible. When it's running in minimized mode it's literally invisible.
Does anyone have an idea of what I can do? I've uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing works.
    PC   Windows 2000

    (sorry to butt in Jose.)
the first thing i check on with a "transparent" iTunes like this on a Windows 2000 box is an out of date version of DirectX. (when folks get this on XP, it typically tends to be a broken DirectX, which is somewhat more difficult to deal with.)
so check to see if your DirectX is up to date. here's the relevant Microsoft download page:
    Microsoft DirectX
if no joy with that, it can help to update you video drivers. see:
