ITunes says I haven't purchased from this computer before, but I have
When I try to buy a song, it brings me to the security questions screen saying I have never purchased from this computer, which I have many times. Since it's been years since I've needed security questions, I don't remember them. Any help on getting purchases re-recognized by iTunes?
If you installed Leopard that is why you can't install Mt Lion. The system Must be running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 to upgrade to Lion or Mt Lion.
If you only erased the Macintosh HD partition then you left the Mt Lion Recovery HD partition in tact on that system. At startup hold down the Command+r keys to boot to the Recovery HD Partition. From there erase the Macintosh HD partition and then select Reinstall Mac OS X. It should then download Mt Lion and ask you for the Apple ID that was used to purchase Mt Lion.
The Reason Snow Leopard might not be installing is because of the Recovery HD partition. To get rid of that you must First Re-Partition the drive As One Partition. Then install Leopard then SL (Or Snow Leopard from the start) and then update it to 10.6.8. Once that is done you should be able to log on to the Mac App Store and Re-Download Mt Lion.

Hi All! 1st time I have had this problem: Itunes store says I have never made purchases from this computer (I have, many times) and is asking security questions that I don't know the answers to. What next? If I keep missing the questions, it is threatening to lock me out of my account. I am sad.
Click here for information. If you can't get the answers emailed to you for some reason, contact the iTunes Store staff via the link in that article.

I am wanting to make a purchase from a new computer, but after I enter my id and password it says that because it is my first time purchasing from this computer I have to answer my security question, but it says my answer is incorrect and it says if you can't remember answers to the two questions to contact you
1. See my User Tip for some help: Some Solutions for Resetting Forgotten Security Questions: Apple Support Communities.
2. Here are two different but direct methods:
a. Send Apple an email request at: Apple - Support - iTunes Store - Contact Us.
b. Call Apple Support in your country: Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support
and service.
3. For other queries about Apple ID see Frequently asked questions about Apple ID.
4. Rescue email address and how to reset Apple ID security questions
It may say to contact Apple, but not us. We are just a user forum. -

I have made many purchases with this computer, but I tried to buy a movie and was told that I have not made a purchase from this computer, this is incorrect
now they want extra passwordsOther people have also posted about being asked their questions despite it not being the first purchase on the computer or device.
Have you set the questions/answers in the past ?
If you have and you know their answers then you should be able to answer them and make the purchase.
If you can't remember them and you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then steps 1 to 5 on the page that you posted from should let you reset them.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use -

iTunes is telling me that I have not purchased from my iPhone before although I have multiple times, and I don't remember my security questions and there is no option to change them. Any suggestions other than making a new account?
If you create a new Apple ID you won't have access to the media purchased with the Apple ID you are currently using.

I was buying a song on itunes and I havent bought one on this computer before. It asked me some questions and I do not remember what i put the first time and now it is locked. What do i do?
To re-identify an incorrectly identified CD: "Insert the CD and select it in iTunes, then menu Advanced > Get CD track names. It should requery the Gracenote database and let you pick the correct album." - https://discussions.apple.com/message/18901866

I cannot access aol from this computer. all other wedsites are fine, other computers can access aol from same wireless, and I can access aol when using another wireless.
problem is specific to this computer, at home with aol only.I should have explained further. The game opens in a new window over to the upper left of my screen, leaving the original page underneath. I tried minimizing it so that I could get to my toolbar and did the View > Zoom > Reset. This has no effect. The lower portion of the game is still not showing. Using other browsers the window or frame of the game is much larger, therefore everything shows.

I have purchased songs from the itunes store many times on this computer. Now it is saying that I have to answer security questions that I do not know the answers to before i can download a song. It says because I have not purchased before on this computer, but I have. Can't get past it and just download my songs.
The reset link will show on your account if you have a rescue email address on it, if you only have alternate email addresses then it won't show.
If the country where you and your iTunes account are isn't on this page (you need to be in a country to use its store) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
then you can try contacting support via this page and explain that you've forgotten your answers, don't have a rescue email address, and your country isn't on the HT5699 page and see what they reply with : https://ssl.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html -
I have checked the emails that I have on file and they are correct. When I press the "Send email" button to help reset security information it is sending it to an email address that I have never ever had! Why is it not sending the email to one of the two emai addresses that ARE on file? I have no idea why it is even sending anything to that email adress or where it came from.
I have money on my account. My account is now locked. It is sending instructions to an emai address that I have never seen before. I cannot find anyway to get phone support. I have a feeling this is going to take at lest a week if not longer to fix.
Can anything be done...??Unfortunately you've discovered too late how important it is to maintain an up-to-date backup of your iTunes library (and all other data of value). You could, before wiping the drive, have considered making use of a commercial data recovery service that could (albeit at considerable cost) have extracted your library from the hard disk, even if virus infected.
In the absence of that option, you will need to restore the content of your library from its original sources:
Depending on your location, you may be able to re-download any iTunes Store purchases that are still available on the Store
Likewise, most digital purchases from Amazon (including auto-rip copies of purchased CDs) should be available from the Amazon Cloud and via the Amazon Music application - the same may be true of other commercial sources for digital downloads
Content imported from your CDs will have to imported again
The specific situation that you describe regarding the music imported from your friend's external HDD suggests that either the source is badly organized and/or originates from a source other than iTunes (other media players may use alternative tags for information like artist, title, album, etc. that are not wholly consistent with how iTunes handle these). Without details of the issues you're seeing it is difficult to suggest a remedy other than going through the media album-by-album, track-by-track, and correcting the inconsistencies.
In the absence of a backup or access to the original library data there is no option other than painstakingly recreating your library as described above. As you do so, you'll now realize how important creating and maintaining backups are - in my case I have at all times three separate duplicates of my library, in two different locations, where none is ever more than a week old compared to the content of my master library. -
I recently had a new operating system installed on my two-year old windows computer. iTunes wants me to authorize my computer (again) and then says that I already have five computers authorized. Should I deauthorize all? Would that affect my iPad and iPhone? I may have old, non-functioning computers that are still authorized and should be removed.
Your past purchases are not on the computer. By choosing download all, those purchases will download to the computer.
Once authorized to your iTunes account you can control the computer.
When syncing the iPad the first time you will get the warning " this iPad is synced with another computer, syncing will erase all contents and replace with the contents of this computer"
Say yes, this is what you wan to do. -

When I try to search for the same book on iTunes store it gives me an option to buy book and there is no warning or indication of this book being purchased by me already. I can go on and ask Apple to reimburse me for the second transaction, but it's a headache.
Any ideas?
Thanks! You cannot redownload audiobooks at all.

I'm trying to download a song and it is saying this is the first time I have purchased from this computer but it isn't and now wants security questions answered and I can't remember them I guess keeps coming up incorrect please help
Didn't the link to contact the iTunes Store staff in the 'Additional Information' section of that article work for you? If you don't already have a valid rescue email address, only Apple itself can assist with recovering lost answers.
