ITunes says I "must insert a blank CD" to burn....

new user to Itunes. Purchased and burned one song to a CD to test it out. Later purchased 5 more songs and want to burn them to the same CD. I keep getting message "CD is not empty" when I try to add the new songs to the CD. Do you only get one chance to burn songs to a CD???

Yes, Some programs on windows allow whats called "Mulitble burn sessions" where it will burn songs to a CD but not "Finalize it" so later you can add more. Usually this is found in CD burning programs like Nero. Its rare to have a Player program like iTUnes or Windows Media player that will support this.
Be carful on your burning tho, as with purchased music from the iTunes music store you can only burn 7 times. After 7 successful burns to CD you can no longer burn that song or songs to CD.

I bought a movie with the digital copy and it gives me option to redeem it with iTunes, but when I type in the redeem code it shows a message saying: " you must insert your digital copy dvd in this computer in order to redeem this code" . The dvd is in. WTH? This is especially with FOX movies, I never have trouble with Universal Picture movies.

Thanks for your reply, but you might have misunderstood it a bit. I'm NOT trying to buy a movie. ****, I'm not even in the actual Apple Store, when this happens I'm in the library not the Store part of iTunes.
To clarify - I have purchased a physical copy of a movie which came with another physical copy which contains the digital copy. The digital copy is on the DVD, all I need is just to transfer this file to my iPod Touch, for example, I'm not trying to download it from the store or repurchase it and it's not any gift code that I've received, the digital copy is on the disc. This is the first time ever that I've purchased something on a disc and I'm not allowed to access it because the disc hasn't been purchased within my country.
So again - I'm not attempting any purchase or download any purchased digital copy - it's on a DVD I own physically so... why is even the region of my Store relevant, the code I enter is (as I assume) just supposed to check if it's a legal genuine copy (which it is, as I've said - there are 6 discs in the pack: 3 movies on 3 Blu-rays and 3 DVD containing these digital copies of them). If I own it, I think that's proof enough that I have the right to use it. I just don't get it. I fully agree with you and understand your point if there was any purchase going on here, but it's not, it's just - I put a disc into my computer and I can't access it

  • TS3274 iPad says connect to iTunes, iTunes says I must unlock iPad, cant unlock iPad.

I cannot use my iPad. Whenever i turn it on, the on screne picture has the usb pointing to and iTunes symbol, meaning connect to iTunes. Whenever i connect my iPad to my compture, iTunes says i must unlock my iPad before it can sync. i have a password on my iPad, but cant seen to get to the passcode screne..any help at all? i do not care about anything on the iPad, it can all be erased!

Try this now. Quit iTunes, restart the computer and restart the iPad as well and then try again. If that still doesn't work, you could try using another computer - especially if you don't care about erasing the iPad.
Recovery mode can be finicky, don't give up, keep trying a few more times.

  • My old computer ( PC) crashed and I have a new PC now but I want to start synching my contactings and stuff onto my new computer. Itunes says it must wipe my iphone before it can synch. Is there a way to keep my contacts?

My old computer ( PC) crashed and I have a new PC now but I want to start synching my contactings and stuff onto my new computer. Itunes says it must wipe my iphone before it can synch. Is there a way to keep my contacts?

Create a dummy contact on your new PC in Outlook.  In iTunes, elect to synch your contacts with Outlook.  You will be prompted to "merge" your contacts.  Once done and all your contacts are on your computer in Outlook, you can delete the "dummy" contact.

  • ITunes says the CD isn't blank, but it is...

I just burned a playlist to disc, then when I attempted to burn a second copy, I got an error message, saying something about the burn being aborted and suggesting that calibrating discs before burning might help. It asked "Do you want to calibrate discs before burning?" Trusting Apple's advice, I said yes. When I then tried to burn the playlist, it said to insert a blank disc. My Computer showed nothing on the disc, but I grabbed another blank, and another, and another. Each time, it said "Checking media...." for a few seconds, then nothing.

  • After updating my iphone 5 to ios 8 it says to plug it into itunes but when I do that itunes says i must rest

After updating my iphone 5 to ios 8 it says I need to plug it into iTunes but when I plug it into iTunes I tunes says I must reset my phone. However, my phone won't turn on so I have no way of reseting it.

    Hi tdunkan,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds as though your iPhone may need to be restored after the update. The first article below will walk you through restoring in a manor very similar to what you are seeing on your iPhone display.
If you can't update or restore your iOS device
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Once the iPhone has been restored and activated, you will have the choice to set up as new, restore from iTunes backup, or restore from iCloud backup. If you information is backed up on either iTunes or iCloud, the following article will discuss how to restore from those backups.
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

    Have a great day,

  • Itunes says i must enter passcode on iphone but iphone only gives option for emergency calls

My sim card is inserted and when I turn the iphone on it only gives the option for emergncy calls, when i connect to itunes it says the phone is locked and i need to enter the passcode on the phone but i cannot enter pass cose on phone as it doesnt give me the option.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

You're gonna have to force the phone into recovery mode:
Turn your phone off. If you cannot turn off your phone using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When your phone turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons. Then, leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, itunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.

  • ITunes says I must use multiple CDs for a 40MB file

The subject says it all. I have a mono audio file that is 43mb. When I try to burn it in iTunes it insists that it needs multiple CDs. This is impossible. A CD can hold 600+MB. I assumed it was a false message, but true to its word it only burned about two-thirds of the file. The playtime is around 3 hours, but that does not matter. Forty-three MB is 43MB. Can anyone tell me how to burn audio files without using rinky-**** software like iTunes? Maybe use Toast? iTunes 7.2, OS 10.3.9
    Thanks in advance,
    Mguilfoile

Thanks for your help; I'll convert it to an MP3 and I'll be good to go!
I'm curious as to why a 43MB file balloons to what must be 1gig when iTunes saves it? The disk does not know what the data are, it just sees a series of 1s and 0s. An analogy can be made with photography. Certainly only two, 300mb photographs can fit on a CD. It does not matter if they are 5M x 5M or 5cm x 5cm for a print size. All that matters is the digital size. Conversely, you can fit 600 1mb photos on a CD, again, regardless of the print size.
Similarly, the amount of time an audio file will fit on a CD must also be inversely proportional to its digital size. If the audio has a low enough bit rate it three hours should fit easily on a CD. I don't recall what mine was, but 3 hours at 43mb must be a pretty low rate.
Consequently, iTunes must be inflating its files by almost 20 times the file's original size! I find this type of wasteful formating to be incredibly stupid. What is Apple thinking?
    Thanks again,

  • Purchased a new pc, itunes says i must authorize it to get my tunes, how do i do this?

purchased new pc, iTunes states that I must authorize my pc to download my tunes, how do I do this? thanks

It's done via the Store drop-down menu at the top of the iTunes screen - if the menus aren't showing then on a PC control-B should get them to show
If my screenshot doesn't show (there is a bug affecting images on these forums) then there is a similar image half-way down this page : Authorize your computer using iTunes

You will probably need to restore using Recovery Mode now. You can read about it here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4097
    Or you can follow this.
    Recovery Mode Instructions
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
    Use iTunes to restore iPad.
