Itunes says i need 4GB to sync my phone an add 1 album....
i want to add an album to my phone but itunes says i need 4GB more memory to sync, but obviously an 11 song album isnt 4GB of memory, any clues?

Check carefully. Perhaps you are trying to copy 9 GB plus 1.3 GB for a total of 10.3 GB. That would give you the message you see.

Also, are you sure you authorized the right account? Could some media be purchased with another account? -

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you're going to have to put the iPad in to recovery mode before you can restore it. The article linked below provides more details about the passcode lock and will walk you through putting the process of restoring from recovery mode.

Use recovery mode
Follow these steps if you never synced your device with iTunes, if you don't have Find My iPhone set up, or if you can't get to your own computer. You'll need to put your device in recovery mode, which will erase the device and its passcode. Then you'll restore your device as new or from a backup.
Disconnect all cables from your device.
Turn off your device.
Press and hold the Home button. While holding the Home button, connect your device to iTunes. If your device doesn't turn on automatically, turn it on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode.
Click OK, then restore the device.

My ipod was being updated, computer went on standby - now itunes says i need to restore it?! But i CANT loose my notes, what do i do?! Hw do i fix or repair/resore and get it all back - without loosing anything. Its 32GB, i will do anyhing to avoid loosing my data/notes (600+), and current appox 23000 pics (20000 loaded on computer)
Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...
To minimise loss... Connect to iTunes on the computer you Usually Sync with and Restore from the most recent Backup...

iTunes says my contacts are being synced with Microsoft Exchange over the air, but I do not have an Exchange account, and I have disabled over the air syncing on both my iPhone 4, as well as in iTunes. I am so sorry I am frustrating you. This is the first time I have used this community and am leanring as I go. I am not able to see the entire post that you leave, unless I look at it on my phone (email)--I am so sorry. You have no idea how much i appreciate your help. Yes, I see that I can get the later version of OS software, but its not availabe for immediate download. My only options appear to be having it shipped, or going to the store to purchase. And if you know of another way that I can access all of my itunes library music on my new phone withouth using itunes, I would love to hear about it.--thanks and again i am so sorry for frustrating you.

You would only be able to restore to a backup to iCloud or iTunes:

Ipod classic won't synch. itunes says it needs to be reformatted
I have had this ipod classic for 2 years and have never had a problem with it. has this ever happened to yours? it is as if it is damaged according to itunes. the message said I can see the items on the ipod but can't change anything. itunes says it needs reformatting. i don't know what that means. thanks!

My iPhone 5S says it's disabled and to connect to iTunes, iTunes says it needs 4 digit pass code. I tried to restore it but device wasn't recognised. Any ideas? I only got it yesterday.
How did the passcode get on the phone to begin with, if you "only got it yesterday"? Regardless, to remove it, you'll have to force the phone into recovery mode, as described here, & restore it:

Iphone's itunes says it needs a wifi connection, but its connected.
I have all the latest updates on my iphone. My iphone does not seem to be able to use my home network, despite the fact that it says it is connected... itunes says i needs a connection while wifi settings says it has one. any ideas?

What IP address shows up on the iPhone? Goto Settings>Wi-Fi> the blue (>)
Also, try making the iPhone forget the network if have not already done so.
If the issue persists goto Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings and attempt to connect again.

You do not need wifi to erase the content of your phone. Go into Settings>iCloud>Find My iPhone>OFF.
