Itunes says I need to restore ipon settings, but it doesn't work

Hi, I would really appreciate your help.
I connected my ipod to my Windows as usual and itunes told me "itunes has detected an ipod in recovery mode. You must restore this ipod before it can be ued with itunes. I did that but nothing happened. itunes displayed the same message again. I restored it again. Nothing. In the meantime, my ipod was absolutely fine. Restoring it wiped out everything of course. I then connected my ipod to my Mac at home. No problems at all! I synced it with Mac without a problem. However, most of my songs areon Windows at work so I need to get to them. Even after Mac's itunes, Windows itunes on my computer still says restore etc. What do I do?

You would only be able to restore to a backup to iCloud or iTunes:

No app is required.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
- Apple will do nothing without a court order

You can't "accidentally" put a passcode on any iPhone...its a multi-step process. Further, restoring an iPhone will remove the passcode, as the passcode is not included in an iPhone backup.
Are you sure you're talking about the phone passcode & not something else...like the "Restrictions" passcode?

My itunes store is saying that it could not contact the server, it says i need to restore my ipod but when i go to restore it, it says the server could not be contacted or something. what does this mean?

okay so last night i went to charge my ipod in the computer and it started working then i took it out of the computer and put it on a wall charger and it had a spasm attack and shut itself down, after that it said i had to connect it to itunes so when i did it kept telling me that i need to restore my ipod, but when i press restore the itunes said "the contact server is not avalible" or something similar to that, what does that actually mean and is there anyway i can fix my ipod. i have dropped my ipod a few times, on tiles, wood, in a gutter of water when it fell out my pocket but im also wondering is it something to do with my ipod or is it itunes?

I was trying to back up everything on my phone, with iTunes. Now it's locked and says:

This is a bad situation. Your iPhone is in a state which cannot be backed up, and the Restore will return iPhone to factory specs erasing it. You need to Restore your iPhone to get it working again. If you were experiencing problems before, maybe your iPhone is damaged. If still faulty, and you have Warranty or AppleCare take iPhone to Apple for evaluation. If no coverage and still faulty it may be time for new phone.

Itunes says I need to upgrade my account but then it gives me an error

So since I've been using iTunes I've always used my AOL info to log in. Well, just a few days ago it started saying I needed to upgrade my account to a free Apple ID if I want to continue purchasing new music or using my current music. So I click for it to upgrade and it will take me to the page where it says change this account to use a Apple ID. When I click continue a box pops up saying an error has occurred and to please try again. I've tried several different times on 2 different computers on 2 different internet connections several days apart and always get this error. Can anyone help with what I need to do?
