ITunes says I need to update my ipod but it is updated please help

Ok when i plug in my iPod a popup says some of the items in the iTunes library were not copied to the ipod because your ipod software is too old. Go to summery tab in iPod preferences and click update to get the latest ipod software. But i do have the latest software and on itunes where it says update it is grayed out so what do i do please help me thanks, Hayley

hmmmm. while the ipod is plugged in, in itunes go "help > check for updates". after it says you're up to date with your itunes, do you get another message asking you to update your firmware?

My iphone just locked, iTunes says I need to restore. This means erasing everything. PLEASE HELP!

My phone is locked and I need to use it!
I was trying to back up everything on my phone, with iTunes. Now it's locked and says:
iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes.
But restoring will delete everything, and I don't think I have it all backed up....which is why I was trying to back it up.

No app is required.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
- Apple will do nothing without a court order

My itunes store is saying that it could not contact the server, it says i need to restore my ipod but when i go to restore it, it says the server could not be contacted or something. what does this mean?

okay so last night i went to charge my ipod in the computer and it started working then i took it out of the computer and put it on a wall charger and it had a spasm attack and shut itself down, after that it said i had to connect it to itunes so when i did it kept telling me that i need to restore my ipod, but when i press restore the itunes said "the contact server is not avalible" or something similar to that, what does that actually mean and is there anyway i can fix my ipod. i have dropped my ipod a few times, on tiles, wood, in a gutter of water when it fell out my pocket but im also wondering is it something to do with my ipod or is it itunes?

I already updated to iOS 5.0.1, but i tried to restore it and iTunes says i need to update it to iOS 5.0.1?

My iPhone 3GS software is on iOS 5.0.1 with iCloud and everything. I want to restore it and everytime i click restore, it says an update is availabe (not on the summary screen) and i need to update it before i restore it. Itunes says I need to upgrade my account but then it gives me an error

So since I've been using iTunes I've always used my AOL info to log in. Well, just a few days ago it started saying I needed to upgrade my account to a free Apple ID if I want to continue purchasing new music or using my current music. So I click for it to upgrade and it will take me to the page where it says change this account to use a Apple ID. When I click continue a box pops up saying an error has occurred and to please try again. I've tried several different times on 2 different computers on 2 different internet connections several days apart and always get this error. Can anyone help with what I need to do?

Updating to 10.7.0.21 using an iTunesSetup.exe or iTunes64Setup.exe shouldn't touch your content. By way of an example, I've updated to 10.7.0.21 on two different computers using the downloaded installer files (using an iTunes64Setup.exe on the 64-bit system and an iTunesSetup.exe on the 32-bit system) and didn't lose anything.
(That being said, it's still always a good idea to maintain a current backup at all times, in case of disasters of any sort.)

Your iTunes library is not touched when installing an iTunes update - the same if you delete and reinstall iTunes.
If you use Word on your PC for word processing - your Word documents are not touched when installing a Word application update. The same applies when installing an iTunes update.
Always a good idea to include your iTunes library with your computer's backup along with all other important data such as documents, photos, etc. for a number of reasons.

I connected my ipod to my Windows as usual and itunes told me "itunes has detected an ipod in recovery mode. You must restore this ipod before it can be ued with itunes. I did that but nothing happened. itunes displayed the same message again. I restored it again. Nothing. In the meantime, my ipod was absolutely fine. Restoring it wiped out everything of course. I then connected my ipod to my Mac at home. No problems at all! I synced it with Mac without a problem. However, most of my songs areon Windows at work so I need to get to them. Even after Mac's itunes, Windows itunes on my computer still says restore etc. What do I do?

Towards the end it says "If after restoring your iPod, the message described above reappears, the iPod drive letter may need to be reassigned.
