Itunes says my computer is authorized and unauthorized???

I am trying to sync my Ipad but it keeps flagging me to authorize my computer so I repeatedly authorize it comfirms the computer is authorized but as soon as I hit sync it flags me for authorization.  It says if not authorized some of my apps will not be able to sync?  Im confused why only part of the apps??

Are the apps all yours or carried over by another person who previously owned it?
If its all yours try shutting the iPad and computer completely off then back on.
If its carried over by the previous owner, they have to be removed. They aren't legally yours.

  • I have updated to iOS5 but now itunes says my computer isnt authorized, when I put in the username and password it says it is authorized

I have updated the iphone 4 to iOS5.  Everything seems great but I am trying to use icloud and it says to plug it intot he computer and have wifi.  I did that but now itunes says that I need to authorize this computer or lose 63 songs.  I did that and then the message says that I have already authorized this computer it is 3 of 5 authorizations and then I am stuck in a loop.

With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:

  • ITunes says this computer is authorized, but it doesn't take

Just moved my stuff to a new iMac G5. Of course, I couldn't play my Music Store downloads, so I provided my apple id and password and authorized my computer to play them. iTunes confirmed that my computer was now authorized. However, it still won't let me play the music! When I try to play it, I get the same "not authorized" message again. This happens whether I log out and log in again or restart. I keep repeating the authorization process, but it doesn't take.
    Any suggestions?

    Okay, my problem is solved.
It turns out I had TWO iTunes accounts:
    [email protected]
    and
    username (without the @mac.com)
I had thought that I only had one account, the mac.com account.
After iTunes support told me that I had two accounts, I logged in using the other one and was able to authorize my songs.
    Hope this helps someone else!

  • I tranfserred library to new computer and now itunes says I am not authorized to play the library

This forum is for questions from those managing sites on iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the general iTunes forums.

  • ITunes says my computer isn't authorized to play one song, but all the rest of them work. The song works on my iPad so why won't it work on my computer or my iPod?

iTunes says my computer isn't authorized to play one of the songs I just downloaded, but all the rest of them work. That song works on my iPad so why won't it work on my computer or my iPod? It says my computer isn't authorized to play that song so I type in my password and it pops up with a menu saying my computer is already authorized and it skips to the next song. No matter what I do it won't play that song on my laptop or my iPod.

Could be a Corrupt download of that song...

  • More than half of the songs I've downloaded recently will allow playback because it says my computer is not authorized.  When i authorize it, iTunes says my computer is already authorized.  But the song still won't play.  What gives?

How does one fix the problem of iTunes saying my computer is not authorized to play songs I've recently purchased, even though I continue to sign in for authorization?  This is bullcrap.

Okay, that sounds like the dodgy tracks have been getting damaged during the download.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • ITunes says my computer is not authorized but when I sign in it says it is...but won't play purchaces

I am using a laptop from my home family of computers but when I try to play a movie I have transferred from my desktop, first iTunes says I am not authorized to play this movie.  Then when I sign in to authorize the movie, it says that I am authorized on this computer but I still can't play the movie.  When I try to play it again, the whole routine starts over again.  Suggestions????

I'm having exactly the same problem. I just tried all the suggestions in the link from Jim and none of them made any difference. Tried calling Apple support but just got bounced round by people who didn't seem to know what they were talking about.

  • ITunes says my computer is not authorized when trying to download my purchases?

    Hello,
My old computer just broke and I got a new one today. I downloaded iTunes and I'm trying to download my TV shows but iTunes says my computer is not authorized? What does that mean and how can I fix it?
    Thanks.

If the computer's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If the computer's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

  • When Syncing IPhone I Can't Make Changes.. ITunes Says My Computer Is No Longer Authorized...

    Hey all,
I have a problem with ITunes.  I have a new Iphone 6+ and I have the latest version of ITunes loaded on my laptop.  When I connect my phone to make changes to the icons and screens, I authorize my laptop.  ITunes tells me I have Successfully Authorized this Computer.  Then I will go into the different screens and move icons around and delete some and change the way my IPhone looks.  When I click APPLY ITunes then tells me that it cannot make changes to the Iphone because this laptop is no longer authorized.  I didn't make any changes to ITunes or anything.  I just plugged my phone in and tried to change the icons around and am not able to do so.
I looked on here and found similar issues and an article was posted to tell how to correct it.  It contained 3 or 4 remedies, Authorizing using the Administrator Account, Changing the User Level Security and deleting the SCinfo folder.  I've done all of these and nothing works.
I don't understand what is going on with ITunes where it tells me the computer IS authorized and then when I try to make any changes to my Iphone, it will try to SYNC and then tell me that it is NOT AUTHORIZED to make changes.
It's pretty hard to enjoy my new phone when I can't do anything or make any changes to it.
PLEASE HELP...this is driving me CRAZY!!
    Thank you
    MUHerd

I guess I solved my own problem.
After de-authorizing and re-authorizing didn't work. I signed out of my iTunes account, waited a minute, and signed back in. Then, when I connected my iPod to my computer, the game was recopied back to the iPod.
    Whatever works....

Are you using the same ID for homesharing on all devices.
By the way shared libraries don't show up under either 'Music' or 'Libraries'.
