ITunes says my computer is not authorized when trying to download my purchases?

My old computer just broke and I got a new one today. I downloaded iTunes and I'm trying to download my TV shows but iTunes says my computer is not authorized? What does that mean and how can I fix it?

If the computer's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If the computer's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

Itunes says my computer is not authorized to play videos

I know this is a problem that Apple is aware of. I have tried several ways and I cannot get my iMac to play the videos I have purchased. I get an error message saying the computer is not authorized, but when I try to authorize it I get a message telling me it already is authorized. I think the only thing I haven't tried is going into the Terminal and following the instructions Apple gives, but I am not comfortable doing that as I know I can mess up the computer if I do it wrong. iTunes will play my music but not my TV shows.

Try deleting the SC info folder in the article below and the Authorize your account again that way you are not doing anything in terminal that would make you feel uncomfortable

Can't play purchased album because itunes says my computer is not authorized, but it is?

purchased an album yesterday and can only play 3 tracks off of it. the others, i am prompted to log in before playing them, saying my computer is not authorized to play the file. then, when i log in, i am told this computer is already authorized. so i go try to play the track and i am prompted to log in because my computer is not authorized...
talk about a headache!
running windows 7, itunes 10.
i've disabled windows firewall and all antivirus software.
only have one pc and only have one itunes account.
ANY help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

When I try to play a movie I get an error saying this computer is not authorized when I sign in and authorize it i am told it is already authorized.

When I go to my account to authorize the computer it says this is already authorized.

Try deauthorizing the computer, logging out of the iTunes store, rebooting your PC, logging back into the iTunes store, and reauthorizing your computer.

Itunes says my computer is not authorized to play songs on the nano.

I connected my Nano( 2nd gen) synched it with my itunes and transferred some songs a few days ago.
Today, I wanted to add some songs I missed but now Itunes is saying my computer isn't authorized to play songs on it. When I try to authorize it (the window pops up for my itunes store password) I get an error from the itunes store. Specifically it says unknown error (-42408).
What does it mean and how do I make it stop?

Have you upgraded to the latest version of iTunes? This error message was common for people who were just upgrading to version 9, but it was resolved as of 9.1.

Getting the message "This computer is not authorized" when trying to sync iPhone.

When I try to sync my iPhone I get the message that "Find my Friends" can't be copied from the iPhone because this computer is not authorized. When I go to authorize the computer I get the message that "This computer is already authorized". Anyone know how to resolve this issue?

I am using a laptop from my home family of computers but when I try to play a movie I have transferred from my desktop, first iTunes says I am not authorized to play this movie. Then when I sign in to authorize the movie, it says that I am authorized on this computer but I still can't play the movie. When I try to play it again, the whole routine starts over again. I'm having exactly the same problem. I just tried all the suggestions in the link from Jim and none of them made any difference. Tried calling Apple support but just got bounced round by people who didn't seem to know what they were talking about.

This is false.
I've already authorized it. The computer in question is my work computer and the window of opportunity to gain access (to the internet) in order to authorize that computer is few and far between.
Said computer will play some music I've purchased, but not others.
Is there SOME way around having to access the 'net in order to authorize this computer? Which I have already authorized.

Is it possible that the tracks that won't play were purchased through a different iTunes Store account? A computer must be authorized to each iTunes Store account used to purchase tracks you want to play. If you Get Info on the problem tracks, it will show you what account was used to purchase those tracks.

Sorry but no, there isn't. A computer must be able to access the iTunes Store at least briefly to be authorized. Otherwise the only way around the problem would be to burn the tracks to audio CD on another computer (one that can be authorized) and take those CDs to work.

Okay, that sounds like the dodgy tracks have been getting damaged during the download.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
