ITunes says my macbook pro is not authorized to download purchases from my ipad
I have an iPad and when I tried to sync it with my MacBook Pro the iTunes said it could not transfer 4 apps because my computer was not authorized. It is authorized. I am so frustrated and don't know what to do. I have a second iPad for my daughter and that one has no problem syncing. Please help! Thank you:)

I have current versions of all software. And just bought a new iPad. When examining purchased music in iTunes on my MacBook Pro, it is pointing to current purchases over the past few years. But when examining purchases in iTunes on new iPad, it is pointing to very old purchases made several years ago. The purchases to do not agree - they are not in sync. I have my iPhone attached via USB cable to my MacBook Pro.
I have been able to successfully sync my calendar now by activating iCloud on my iPhone and via System Preferences on my MacBook Pro after I learned that Maverick does not provide iSync.
However, I have a new problem: The calendar does not "upgrade" (it gets stuck) and I receive a "403" error and it gets stuck in a loop that I have to force quit. I have looked that up in the forum, but wasn't able to solve this issue because the solutions are way to technical and out of my league.
Very disappointed development as removing calendar from iCloud now also deletes all my entries on the Mac. -
Have a Macbook Pro and a 4th gen iPod Touch. Downloaded and install iOS 4.3.2 yesterday. Upgrade went without a hitch, but now iTunes on My Macbook Pro will not open. I get an error that says --The file "iTunes Library" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes--. I am running iTunes 10.1. I searched for Updates to my MacBook Pro (running 10.6.7), but comes back saying no updates available. WHAT IS GOING ON??

When I changed to my new MacBookPro I had to authorize it although I used TimeMachine to transfer my settings and data.
Did you try to deselect Wi-Fi syncing and enable it again after that?

my iphone 5 will not sync with my macbook pro. it says my computer is no longer authorized to download purchased items from the iphone. However, when I go to authorize my computer, it says it is already authorized. How do I fix this?
You can't change the Apple ID that the Authorize dialog comes up with by default. It's showing you that Apple ID for a reason: it means that the items you want to play were purchased using that Apple ID and therefore you need to authorize your computer with that Apple ID. Changing the Apple ID given completely defeats the entire purpose.
If you don't know the password to the given Apple ID, then you will no longer be able to play those items. -
My macbook pro is already authorized, but a purchased song from iTunes keeps stating that my computer is not authorized to play it. I enter my apple ID and password, upon which a window confirms that my computer is already authorized. Yet the song still won't play and continues to state that my computer is not authorized.
If you live in a country in which you are allowed to re-download purchased music delete the track from the library and the HDD and re-download it.

Do you mean Bluetooth?
If you are trying to activate your iPhone you need to use iTunes.
There's no need to "pair" an iPhone with a Mac. Syncing, restoring, backing up, apps/ music / photos etc., is all done with iTunes. -

Itunes states that my computer is not authorized to download an audio book I purchased from itunes. No problem with purchased songs however.

Try Deauthorize your account and then Authorize the account to see if any changes occur. Also there may a resolution in the second article that can be helpful as well.

I tried to download an album that I had previously purchased from ITunes. It is listed in my ITunes library. But ITunes states that my computer, this computer, is not authorized to download my albums. How am I able to get the authority I need for my computer to be able to take this action.

You can use these steps to authorize your computer for iTunes purchases:
Open iTunes on the computer you want to authorize.
Choose Store > Authorize This Computer from the menu bar.
You might need to show the menu bar to see this option in Windows. In earlier versions of iTunes, you can access this option from the Advanced menu.
Enter your Apple ID and click Authorize.
If your Apple ID uses an expired MobileMe account, you can still use it to authorize your computer.

Hello Macbook Pro Musicians--I cannot read sheet music from my 13" macbook or from an IPad. The print is too small for these aging eyes! So I need to get a large monitor to attach to the Macbook. I want the monitor to be connected wirelessly or using a blue tooth. This will eliminate alot of potential mishaps

As you can see in my profile section, my MBP is older by 5 years, 2GB RAM and with regards to question 1 (Q1), has no problems with having all those programs open at the same time with the possible exception of Photoshop since I use Gimp instead. With twice the RAM and much overall much better specs, Photoshop shouldn't be an issue. But you listed some other activities that might need that additional RAM. But the advise most give is to not get it from Apple but from a third party.
Q5 - I always get Apple Care. Only had to use it once but it paid for itself that one time.
Sorry, can't help you much with the questions you really want answered since I won't have a new MBP until (hopefully) next week but for Q4, I believe it depends on the peripheral. My current monitors are too old to allow them to be hooked up in a chain. Supposedly, if the monitors do have the ports, you could via the MBP Thunderbolt port. The speeds are also dependent upon the peripheral. If the external hard drive is using a USB 2 port, you are limited by that speed (480 Mb/s). If it has a Thunderbolt port, then from what I understand, we, my friend, are in for some great times because I believe your RAM will have the ability to access data as fast as it can take it at 10Gb/s (and if will need those kinds of speeds, the 8GB of RAM may be the way to go). The Thunderbolt demos on YouTube where they are accessing four video files from a Raid drive, then sending them back out via Final Cut Pro to a monitor are amazing. I'll probably never push this machine to anywhere near it's limits but I can't wait to see what others do.

Sometimes it's as easy as quitting iTunes, restarting the Mac, restarting the iPad. Give that a try if you haven't done so already. -
Itunes says some of music is not authorized to play on my computer
my old computer's screen was damaged, so i went out and got another one when i did geek squad at best buy took the info off my old computer and put it on my new one this included itunes with all of my music, when i went to sync my ipod to the new computer some of my music was not put on because it said it was not authorized to play on my computer, is there a way to fix this?

Is your iTunes library authorized? If not, head to store drop down menu and click "Authorize." If it is already, try deauthorizing and then reauthorizing it. See if that helps.

After updating iTunes and rebooting MacBook Pro does not reboot.
So after installing the update of the new iTunes the system needed to reboot. Screen remains black, battery is full and even with connection to the power network. When pressing the power button you hear the system starts working but stops after unpressing the power button. Also no sound of any HDD or other lights start working (apart from the green power light on the battery at the back / power network) Also the small white light next to the screen opener just goes on for 3 seconds or something. My MacBook Pro is from October 2008 and had further all available updates and 4GB of RAM. Anyone a solution?

OK so it looks like my 2nd logic board is on the way out. The left hand side of the laptop is way to hot and you just cant have it on your lap.
So i called support to raise a call and the guy tells me there isn't an issue as "The Macbook Pro is a PORTABLE and NOT a laptop" .
Come on now Apple this is taking the cake. I have my laptop raised off the table now for cooling and the thing is still a toaster. SORT IT OUT !As most others have noted, if you want the power of a MBP you'll have to learn to live with the heat. The MBs run cooler, but with less performance.
You'll find the same heat problem in other company's desktop replacement notebooks, though perhaps not to the same extent due to the MBP's incredibly small and lightweight dimensions.
It's really quite pleasant to use the MBP in your lap if you have a lap-desk, Barnes and Noble sells some relatively nice looking ones for about twenty bucks.
