Itunes says my network connection has timed out.

Everything except my store will work.When i click on the store link a message pops up that says "Itunes could not connect to Itunes store the network connection is timed out.Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active.then try again" all my connections work so i dont know what is up.Any ideas anyone!!!!

I just installed the Itunes on my computer, and I gave my credit card info on line and now I too can not access the store. All my firewalls and security programs have been checked. I'm not to comfortable giving out my credit card number with out being able to even purchase a song yet.

I struggled with this for 2 days and finally got it to update.
I posted a blog with my experience, but the final solutions for me, was to unplug my computer from my wireless router and hard wire it through the cable directly to my DSL modem.

And excluding the extremely high network traffic due to the many millions of users downloading the update a day or two after is was released, this is a problem with that swiss cheese for security garbage OS that is Windows only, which is the joke. An update that is now running on 1 in 3 compatible iDevices which is in the 10's of milllions is vaporware Einstein?

Disable your antivirus and firewall, and try again.

Have you tried temporarily turning off your firewall and antivirus software whilst the download is happening ? A number of people on here have had success downloading it after doing so.

Okay, so i've tried to download it multiple times with multiple "solutions" but none have worked! I'm starting to get SO mad.. and aggravated. I just want this stupid update to update! Everytime it goes to finish it says error, network connection has timed out please check your connection and try again later. My connection is perfectly fine! I've disabled my anti virus and firewall while trying to update too.. no luck. I even downloaded the ios 5 manually from a site, but i dont know how to use that as my download. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. Ok i have downloaded 4 songs that have not been successfully downloaded. When I check for the purchases an error occurs and says the network connection has timed out. How can I fix this problem to get the songs downloaded?

Have no answer. Just wanted you to know that there is another sufferer out here. Same issue. Bought 4 selections ranging from about 5 minutes to 15 minutes. Downloads just CRAWL compared to what I have previously experienced with Itunes. Message is "Stopped Err=3529" when it times out. I DL quite a bit of classical music and it usually just trucks along. I installed the latest "greatest" version of iTunes just before this began. I have a very fast PC with lots of memory and connection speed. No reason initially to suspect the problem is at my end. I've had the same problem for the last two weeks. Finally resolved the issue in Windows 7.
Go to start button, control panel, system & security, windows firewall. On the left side of the box click on "advanced settings." On the left side of the box again click on "Inbound Rules." You should be able to see iTunes under the name category. Make sure it has a green check mark next to it. If it does not, then double click on the name. In the "general" box which comes up open, click "Allow the Connection." That worked for me. Somehow itunes was blocked but now I can access the itunes store again.

Ever since i downloaded itunes 7 i have been getting this message whenever i try to access itunes

I have tried everything that apple has suggested in their help and support pages. I no clue what to do now since my internet is running perfectly fine.
Also whenever i insert a cd into my rom, itunes wont load the album into its interface or recognize that there is even a cd in the rom. I am thinking this is occuring because itunes cant access the internet.

I had exactly the same problem, and finally found a solution this week. If its the same problem as i had it is to do with your firewalls. I know weveryone on here keeps saying go into control panel, then firewalls and make sure itunes is selected as an exception etc etc. I did all of this and still had the same problem.
My problem laid in other firewall software that had been installed on my PC when i bought it, and not windows firewall. I have EZ Armor installed which is anti-virus and firewall software. I uninstalled the firewall part and everything works fine. I can import music from cds and gracenotes can find the track names, and i can access the itunes store. I am waiting to hear back from Computer Associates who make EZ Armor as to how i can reinstall the fireall and make itunes an exception, as obviously i would prefer to have the firewall protection.
My suggestion is to check your PC for any anti-virus and firewall software that you might not even know you are running, and uninstall it.
