Itunes says syncing but no new music transfers to iphone

When i try to sync my iPhone 3gs to my laptop, it briefly says syncing but no music I have added to my library actually transfers to my phone.

I have this same issue with USB drives and not having "enough space" after deleting content. What its wanting me to do AFTER deleting the content is to then empty the trash on my laptop while the device still plugged in.
im not sure why this is always a step I have to take, but I figure this issue might also apply to your iPhone and it worth a shot.

  • Itunes says "syncing" but ipod does not.  2nd gen nano

My wife has a 2nd gen nano that will not sync. Itunes says "syncing" but ipod does not, you can scroll through the menus and use it like it was not connected. When I first connect it, the do not disconnect sign appears then after a few seconds the main menu. She has used it for 2 years and it worked fine until today.

  • ITunes says I have 10GB of music on my iPhone 5, but I have NO music synced. How do I fix this?!

I recently deleted all the music on my iPhone 5 from the newest version of iTunes (I can't even figure out how to tell which version that is on this thing). My phone shows that I have no music on it yet iTunes is still saying I have 10GB, even though nothing comes up on the "on this iPhone" section. How do I fix this? I can't add anything to it anymore. It keeps saying I'm over my limit but there's nothing there.

  • I have iphone 4s that won't sync. Using windows 7, iphone software is up to date as is itunes. Itunes says sync session could not be started when iphone plugged in or over wifi.

Have tried to sync my iphone 4s over wifi and using usb. Both methods unsuccesful. Have checked to make sure updates are not needed for iphone and itunes, have evem restored iphone system which wiped music, pics and apps from iphone. Message comes up saying "sync session could not be started." Windows 7 recognises iphone is there, as does itunes but itunes will not sync with iphone. Don't know if it helps at all but i did recently add an old 2nd gen ipod mini to the same itunes. Would this have any affect on iphone not syncing? Any advice would be amazing as this is very frustrating. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.

You get this message when trying to back up to iCloud?  That error message is normally associated with backing up to your computer using iTunes, not backing up to iCloud.  Check Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup to be sure iCloud Backup is turned On at the bottom.

  • ITunes says sync is complete on shuffle, but Shuffle is empty?

I have a new Shuffle Gen 4.  When I try to sync it, itunes says "sync is complete," but nothing is on the Shuffle.

Good to hear you have resolved your problem. Can I suggest that you mark your second post (not mine) as "this answered my question"?
It won't give you any points, but it will allow anyone else with the same problem who is looking through the list of posts (and I have seen several posts on this subject with Windows 8) to see that there is a solution to "No music syncs, even though iTunes says sync is complete". Then they will solve their issue too.
    Hurrah!

  • How can I sync my photo contents in iPhoto on my iMac to my new iPAD's iPhoto?  I follwed all the instructions on manuals for both iPAD and iTunes re syncing, but I cannot find "phone button" under Device name on iTunes page. Please help!  Thanks!

I follwed all the instructions on manuals for both iPAD and iTunes re syncing, but after physically connecting iPAD with iMac with USB or via WiFi I still cannot find "phone button" under Device name on iTunes page. Please help!  Thanks!
I have been creating a photo book using a lots of photographs on iPhoto, and then I took another photos by using new iPAD which I want to integrate with the original album/book on iMac. I was able to import them from iPAD's iPhoto to iMac's iPhoto.  However I cannot import or transfer or sync anything from iMac's iPhoto to that of my iPAD.
So my iPhoto page on iPAD contains only 3 or 4 newly created albums, and no other info.  That means no syncing....
I am supposed to be able to work on this project on either of these iPAD and iMac, correct?
I am puzzled.  I appreciate for your advice and help.
    Thank you!

It doesn't appear under the iPad device on the left-hand sidebar of iTunes, you need to select the iPad device on the sidebar and then select the Photos tab on the right-hand side of iTunes e.g.
And then on the right-hand side :

The music you just downloaded tonight to your new computer is safe. The music you purchased on your phone is safe.  You shouldn't feel gutted.  It's your other music that you should have taken better care of.  That would include any music you ripped yourself or purchased outside of iTunes.  That you can't get back.
It has always been the user's responsibility to back up and protect downloaded music.  If you didn't have a backup of your computer before it started acting funny, that's your fault.  It would be no different than if you lost a music CD.  It would not be a record store's responsibility to replace if you lost it.  Digital music is no different.  Similarly, a phone is not a backup medium.  Phone's break, get misplaced or stolen all the time and are not a substitute for a backup copy of your music and media.
Computers WILL break.  Hard drives WILL fail.  That's why you back up your data.

  • After update iphone says syncing but doesn't sync

Hi. I just updated to the the new itunes.  Now I cannot sync any music to my iphone (4s).  It says syncing but no music shows up on phone.  I have tried to drag songs over to iphone list on right had side, but no luck.  I have tried starting in airplane mode as others suggested, but no luck.  Do I need to uninstall and reinstall itunes again?  I had to do this when I couldn't get the itunes to download. I have windows 7 also.  There is no error message, it just doesn't do anything.  Thank you.

in the iTunes window, select your phone, then go to the "music syncing tab".  Ensure you have your music set to sync.

  • My recently new computer and iTunes won't let me add music to my iPhone. What do I do?

I recently got a new computer. I downloaded iTunes and went to add new music to my iPhone4, but it wouldn't let me add it. When i tried to press "Manually manage music and videos" it told me that since i already synced my iphone to the old computer, i had to erase everything from my iPhone to be able to. I don't want to erase my phone. I'm pretty sure there is another way since people get a new computer everyday, but I don't know how. Help?

Yes... that's the way it works.
You can only sync an iDevice with one computer.
Move or copy all the iTunes content from the old computer (or backup of the old computer) to the new computer.
Then sync the iDevice with the new computer.  It will still wipe the device, but at this point it will not matter because all the content will be on the new computer to sync to the device.

  • I can't sync new music onto my iPhone?

I have a black 32GB iPhone 5. I've had the phone for about 7 months and I've had no problems with it until recently. My iTunes won't sync new music onto my iPhone. I've tried switching the cable and checking and unchecking music, but it doesn't work. When I tried to uncheck all the music and sync it, the music stayed on my phone. Tracks that I've deleted stay on my phone, and new tracks won't sync to my phone. I recently downloaded an album from iTunes, and the songs on the album appeared on my phone through iCloud. However, new songs that I haven't purchased through iTunes won't sync. How can I fix this problem?

What happens when you try? We're not psychic...

Restore from old iPhone backup can past all data including messages to your new iPhone. Or you can resfer to this iPhone 4/4S SMS to iPhone 5 transfer tutorial. It shows you how to transfer messages only.
