Itunes says to turn off compatibility mode? don't know how, help!!

I just downloaded the itunes 9.2 update this week and since then have been prompted to turn off compatibility mode every time I open itunes. I don't even know what that means or how to turn it off, (never seen this message before). Does anyone know how to turn this mode off? I've searched the progam files and all the options and can't seem to find anything.

There's instructions on how to change compatibility mode settings for iTunes in the following document, although there's a couple of additional quirks you need to watch for.
When you get to *step 8* make sure that no boxes are checked in the compatibility mode tab (not just the compatibility mode box itself ... having any box checked in there can cause a compatibility mode error message).

If none of the checkboxes are checked, and you're still getting a compatibility mode message, that's usually caused by an errant registry setting. For troubleshooting advice on that possibility, see Random Behavior's post in the following thread:

    Hi Roger
    Thank you for your reply.
    My original feed is: http://casa-egypt.com/feed/
    However, because I modified the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/imananddinasbroadcast and nothing changed, I redirected it to another feed and then I deleted this feed.
    Is there any way to change the feed in itunes? The only feed I have now is  http://feeds.feedburner.com/CasaEgyptStation
    I tried to restore the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/imananddinasbroadcast but feedburner refused.
    I know that I missed things up but I still have hope in working things out.
    Thanks is advance.

  • Turning Off Compatibility Mode

    Hello,
    Every time that I open iTunes for my PC (Vista operating system), I receive a dialog box that states: "iTunes.exe has been set to run in compatibility mode fore an older version of Windows. For best results, turn off compatibility mode for iTunes before you open it."
    I would like to know how to do the above, or make it so that this does not appear anymore. I have the latest version of iTunes as well, and this has not resolved the issue. Thanks.

  • How to turn off Compatibility Mode on Project 2010

    I am having trouble turning off Compatibility Mode on Project 2010 in our organization - Project is installed as part of Office Professional Plus 2010.
    When I open Microsoft Project it displays [Compatibility Mode] in the title bar.
    When I choose Save As, the type of file is "Microsoft Project 2007 (*mpp)". I can go ahead and change this each time to "Project (*.mpp)" but I would like this to be the default setting for all users.
    Under File, Options, Save - the "Save files in this format" is greyed out and set to "Microsoft Project 2007 (*mpp)".
    I have created a GPO under: User configuration - Policies - Administrative Templates - Classic Administrative Templates - Microsoft Project 2010 - Project Options - Save, and I have set "Save Microsoft Project files as" "Project
    (*.mpp)".
    My only other choices are "Template" or "Project 2000-2003"
    This GPO is applying correctly, however - Project continues to open in Compatibility Mode.
    In my GPO, should I be seeing a set of different option for "Save Microsoft Project files as"?
    Otherwise, am I missing something else in order to turn off Compatibility Mode for Project?
    Many thanks in advance!

    Hi Paul,
    I have tested with a test GPO and these are the results:
    When "Save Microsoft Project files as" state is set to "Enabled": Opens in Compatibility Mode and under File, Options, Save - the "Save files in this format" is greyed out and set to "Microsoft Project 2007 (*mpp)".
    When "Save Microsoft Project files as" state is set to "Disabled": Project opens fine and under File, Options, Save - the "Save files in this format" is not greyed out and I can choose "Project", "Microsoft Project
    2007", "Microsoft Project 2000-2003" and "Project Template".
    What I believe to be the problem is that "Save Microsoft Project files as" options that are available for me to choose in my GPO do not seem to be aware of Office 2010. The options available are:
    "Project (*.mpp)"
    "Template (*.mpt)"
    "Project 2000-2003 (*.mpp)"
    There is no specific mention of "Project 2007", it seems like the GPO recognises Project 2007 as the most recent when we are in fact using Office 2010.
    Could this be that my Group Policy Templates are for Office 2007 rather than Office 2010? That would be odd as the policy location itself is located under: User Configuration/Policies/Administrative Templates/Classic Administrative Templates/Microsoft Project
    2010/Project Options/Save
    ...so as this specifically mentions Project 2010 I would assume that it is using the correct version.
    Another quick note: I needed to Add Template in GPME so that "Classic Administrative Templates" would be available, and the template I added was proj14.adm which I believe is the correct 2010 template.
    Many thanks,
    Van

    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom

    My iPad is low on memory and it says to turn off apps running in background . How do I do that

    Hello Skittles1202
    It sounds like more of the storage of your iPad is full. Plug it into your computer and check in iTunes or on your iPad go to Settings > General > Usage and it will sort out in order of what is taking up the most space. Once you figure that out you can either delete what is not needed or import any photos that you may have to your computer. If you want to close out any application that you may have open previously, then double tap the home button and then swipe up on any app that you want to close
