ITunes says updating files on my iPod, but podcasts do not show up.

I have an iPod Classic 80g. It is set to manually manage files and disk use is enabled. Recently I had to reformat my PC and reinstall the OS and other programs. Prior to this I was able to click and drag the video podcast I subscribe to directly to my iPod. Now, after the reformat, when I drag the new podcasts to my iPod, iTunes says its updating files my files, but when its finished there are no files added to my iPod. When I try to add it again, it no longer says it's updating, but still nothing happens. I have checked in all available folders incase it was adding to the wrong place, but it is nowhere to be found except fot being temporarily in the recently added folded. All other media types like movies and music import without a problem to my iPod.
Please help.

I tried it and it worked. I am not tech savy, but I am in the process of downloading all of the other shows this way. Once I entered in the url in the "sync podcasts", it then allowed me to place all of the newly downloaded podcasts under podcasts. I played around for a while, so not sure I can walk you through it, but it will work.
Once I had synced the podcast, I went into podcast, dbl clicked on the original subscribed podcast show, that brought up the other shows and I downloaded them, one by one. Am trying a mass download, but cannot seem to do that.

Yeah, you have to subscribe to a podcast and select "Sync podcasts" for it to show up under "Podcasts" on the iPod. Even podcasts downloaded through iTunes won't show up here if you don't subscribe/sync but just put them in a playlist.

I'll preface this by saying I'm a newer iPod user (since March of this year).
I added a bunch of songs to iTunes tonight on our other computer that has XP. It said the iPod was updated and could be removed from the USB (first time it's ever said that, usually it says "iPod Update Complete" on iTunes, but "Do Not Disconnect" on the iPod). I go to listen to my iPod tonight, and none of the songs I added to iTunes are there -- not one. I'm not sure if this is related, but a couple days ago half of my songs in iTunes had the exclamation point next to them indicating the file was gone; search of the computer turned up nothing (most of the songs I added tonight were the ones lost).
Is it something I did?

f your iPod shows up in Explorer under 'my computer' try changing the drive letter:
-- Click on Start=>Control Panel=>Admin Tools=>Computer Management=>Disk Management
-- Right-Click on the iPod and select “change drive letter”
-- Choose something further along in the alphabet that is unused (Usually, “M”, “N”, “O” or something similar)
-- Safely eject the iPod
-- Reboot the PC

Try using the Spotligh search feature on the iPod. To get there, swipe the Home screen fully to the right.
Also, if they are Games, they could be in the Game Center.folder

There are some good programs that you could use to convert the format, Handbrake or Mpegstreamclip are two good free ones. Convert them to MP4 and then try importing them again.

I have realized what is probably the root of the problem. When I saved my photos on to my PC I transferred them using the 'cut' method. So they do not appear on the phone. But the phone still seems to have them saved somehow, but I cannot access them.

I had the same problem and was able to fix it. Go to your iTunes and click on the Tones folder on the left under library. Some of my ring tones had an exclamation mark next to it and those were the ones that did not sync. You have to click on those and find it in your computer. Once the exclamation mark is gone, go to Tones section of your device in iTunes, make sure you select the tones you want synced, and click apply. I hope that helps you!

Itunes 11 appears to download my CD but it does not show up in my music?

I insert my own CD. itunes goes through the importing process on each track, but when it is done, the new tracks do not show up in Music or Recently added. Where is it? I do not have itunes Match. Any ideas? I import my own CD's like this all the time.

I had the same issue and it seems to me, that the problem is the Apple cloud. The cloud symbol next to my music library wash showing an update after I imported a new CD. And only after this was done (which took a loooong time over my slow DSL line), the CD was visible.
Although I do not use iTunes Match it looks as if Apple is transferring my music library data to the cloud.

Welcome to the Apple community.
The iCloud account and iTunes account (which you purchase apps under) are different accounts, apps have nothing to do with the iCloud account. However your iTunes account contains a purchase history which allows you to re-download any apps you have purchased under that account at any time (subject to availability). To re-download purchased apps, go to the purchased section of the App Store.
In future if you want apps to download on other devices when purchased on one, select automatic downloads from settings > store on the appropriate devices.

When I plug in my ipod old podcasts do not show up, how do I fix this?

I have updated my itunes. I have reset my ipod. However, when I connect my ipod to my computer old podcasts (even ones that have not been listened to) do not show up. I added these podcasts to my ipod before installing the new itunes. I have over 20 podcasts that do not show up on itunes for me to remove so I am wasting space. If anyone has advice please let me know.

You may have transferred all your songs, but your iPad is seeing the library as a different entity.

My itunes says it's up to date, but it is not. If I download the new one will I loose all my stuff?

I got the I-phone 5, and when I went to sync it, it said I couldn't because I didn't have Itunes 11. I have 10.6.3, and it says its up to date. It said to download it, but I don't want to loose all my music and movies. How can I do that?

The issue is that the current iTunes (11.0.4) requires at least OS X version 10.6.8 to run.
You must update your OS X first, then update your iTunes.
Note that OS X version 10.6 (Snow Leopard) is now two years old. So I strongly suggest that you move to Lion (OS X 10.7) or Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8) if your machine will support it. Either of these upgrades will cost a bit.

ITunes says my computer is already authorized, but it's not

I noticed that iTunes wasn't updating my purchases on my MBP so checked and it's not listed as an authorized computer in my iTunes account. But when I click "Authorize Computer" it's telling me it's already authorized. You can see from the screenshots that nnone of the the 3 computers listed are MacBook Pros. It's an old MBP running 10.6.8, don't know if that has any bearing. Anyone have any ideas?
