ITunes Screensaver with building

In the WWDC of Leopard, one of the features shown with CoreAnimation was the iTunes screensaver using the album art that made the buildings that you could zoom around, etc. Does anyone know how to do this?
Here's an image of the artwork in the demo:

Thanks!

It was just a demo shown by Apple. It doesn't exist in the OS. Sorry to disappoint you.

  • System Prefs crash with iTunes Screensaver

This morning I was playing around with the iTunes Artwork screensaver in System Preferences. Everything was working fine until I set the number of rows in the screensaver to two. Now, whenever I click on the screensaver, System Preferences crashes. Does anyone know what to do? Can I reinstall the iTunes screensaver somehow?
MacBook Pro 2.0 GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Hey there - I actually think I fixed it! I went into System/Library/Screen Savers and moved the file iTunes Artwork.saver to the Trash. Then, I reopened System Preferences and changed the screen saver to one of the other default choices. Then, after making sure that the new screen saver worked, I just moved the iTunes Artwork.saver file back into the same place as before. Then I was able to reopen System Prefs and change the screen saver back (but I was very careful not to put it back down to two rows!) This all came about by trial and error, but I hope it helps.

  • IPhone 4 Fails to Start Sync Wifi, Smart Playlists Won't Sync Wifi or Wired, and Missing Artwork iTunes Screensaver

    Hi all,
I recently deleted a few gigs worth of photos off my iPhone 4.  Ever since I've been having trouble with a few things.  All software is up to date.  So far here are the things I've noticed that seem suspicious.
iPhone fails to start sync using wifi.  It times out on Step 1 (starting sync) or Step 2 (backup).  I've tried closing and reopening iTunes, restarting the MBP and iPhone, and deleting my iPhone backup.  In some cases iTunes loses the connection to phone and won't come back.  It syncs fine using a USB cable, but won't get past step 2 using wifi.  I hate wires so I would prefer to do this over the air.
My smart playlists no longer sync.  I've tried unchecking the boxes and selecting them again, but nothing.  Duplicating an exisitng smart playlist and selecting it to sync seems to have worked for now, but I'm concerned about now being able to add my original playlist.  Sounds like a larger issue to me.
My iTunes screensaver on my MBP no longer displays artwork.  It says there is no artwork to display, but iTunes still has artwork in it.
I've read numerous threads about all these issues.  I know there are many people out there having these problems.  I just haven't found a good solution for any of them.  Everything was working beautifully until I tried to clean up some old stuff on my phone.  Apple is playing dumb according to the people that have contacted them.
    I'm running:
    OSX Lion 10.7.4
    iTunes 10.6.3
    iOS 5.1.1
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

Just nudging this one back to the top in case anyone has some input.

  • ITunes Screensaver Broken after iTunes 11 update

After upgrading, the iTunes screensaver now only displays the most recently downloaded artwork (currently 1 album, 3 podcast backgrounds).
Anyone else experiencing this, or has in the past as it may just be coincidental with the update? And of course any solutions.

Mine won't even shut down, it hangs everything up, ignores the force feature and the only way i can reboot is to hold down the power button. I have come to the conclusion that my mac book was defective since day 1. I have given them 6 months to make it better and no go. So they are sending me a new one. Hopefully that should solve the problem. I started having problem right out of the box. They actually wanted me to allow some randon apple guy in shreveport to replace a motherboard on a mac book pro less that a week old. I said no, you have six months to figure this out or send me a new one. They six was up yesterday and my new one should be in the mail shortly. Apple's tech support is top notch.

  • ITunes screensaver

I set my itunes screensaver setting to 0 sec...since then, I can't change it. Everytime I try, it quit by itself.
Is there a way to reinstall it instead of reinstall my OS?
    Thanx

This issue is often caused by a plist file which is corrupt or contains an invalid setting. To fix this issue, create a new folder on the desktop and then choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu. Enter ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/ as the folder's path and drag everything with a name containing com.apple.screensaver to the folder on the desktop. If the issue persists, return to the ByHost folder, press the Command and Up keys simultaneously, and then move the file named com.apple.desktop.plist to the folder you created earlier. If everything works properly with both files in the folder you created, it is safe to throw it away.

  • PINK! itunes screensaver

hey all, so i dont know if anyone can answer this question ( and i think i answered it myself) but theres no harm in getting an opinion from you guys...
my itunes screensaver is pink! i think it the pixles or something. but all the other screensavers are all the right colors..any hints to why would be great
    thanks
oh and dont let your friends near your macbook with a camera on a late night of partying...just thought i should relay that common sense

hmm that is weird i just tried it again and when you do the test from system prefs it does have some singles and then alot in the rows as pinkish
when i did it by just waiting for the screensaver to come on, some of the individual pictures were pinkish but all in the rows were ok even if they came up as pink in the individual bit!
i may have missed them tho ;-]
but it does seem like this is a bit of a bug maybe they will fix in 10.5.2
thanks for pointing me in the direction of that screen saver tho ive had a mac for a while and never seen that option (duh) good for parties when you dont really want the psychedelia of the visualizer or the soberness of front row

  • Quartz Screensaver with Video - synchronous not fluent, asynchronous crashes

hey, I'm building a simple screensaver with video in Quartz Composer. Basically it's a Movie Importer patch connected to a Billboard. The movie is MPEG-4 encoded.  When I set the patch to 'synchronous' mode, I get very low FPS (drops down to 2!!) - the movie doesn't play fluent at all. Changing the video patch to asynchronous mode seem to do the trick - Test & Preview mode work perfect. But now the problem is, that the actual Screensaver keeps crashing asap the video starts... :(  Any idea how to get fluent output in synchronous mode or to ensure asynchronous mode keeps the screensaver running?? Cheers!

Hi I had the same problem and same response. The answer for me was, go to system preferences click on sharing, and un-tick internet sharing, and then it worked fine. but I do use internet sharing for my Iphone so then I re-tick the internet sharing. As it happens I wanted to join a three way conference last night and it wasn't happening, then I remembered to switch off internet sharing and bingo it was working again, I hope this helps. Viv

  • ITunes screensaver broken

A couple of weeks ago, my iTunes screensaver broke. It says my iTunes doesn't have any cover art. (But I do.)
Mac OS X 10.7.2. My iTunes library is on an external USB drive. It otherwise functions normally. I can play anything from the library, see cover art, etc. But when the OS X iTunes screensaver starts, it's just black with the message that my iTunes library has no cover art. I have tried restarting iTunes, restarting the computer, quitting iTunes and relaunching it while holding down the option key (to designate a different library), then quitting and relaunching it and re-pointing at my real library. I've also tried selecting a completely different screensaver then reselecting the iTunes Artwork screensaver. I've also repaired permissions. Nothing has fixed it.
    Any suggestions?

Hi - I have the same issue where a number of apps keep asking to accept incoming connections even though they are already listed in the access list of the Firewall. I have tried all suggestion I found in various discussion forums: verify disk, check permissions, clear access list in firewall, delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.NetworkUtility.plist, remove duplicates from keychain.
But nothing seems to cure the problem. I also found somewhere that the issue could be that the app bundle is changed because an app may write temp files or configs into its bundle.
There are 2 apps I use most and these keep asking over and over again, but today I noticed another level if bizarre behaviour.
I have SplashID iPhone Desktop which always asks to accept incoming connections whenever I launch it. I checked its bundle for any changes before, during, and after use but coulnd't see any files with changed modification dates/times. I even checked the bundle in a shell to look for any hidden files being created.
The other app is Safari and there I found a strange behaviour. It always asks me when I visit particular sites, e.g. www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html. However, after removing Safari from the firewall access list I can visit the speedtest site without it asking. But when I quit Safari it appears in the access list with incoming connections allowed without me asking and when I start Safari again and go back to the speedtest site it now asks for permissions.
    Any more ideas?
    Cheers
    Michael

  • ITunes Screensaver cannot find artwork

    iMac 24", i5
    Lion
    all software updated
iTunes screensaver says the library does not contain any artwork.
In iTunes, I have 33,000 tracks, all with artwork (not one exception)
Architecturally, the setup is traditional, though the iTunes Media file is on a second drive.
The Album Artwork folder's Cache subfolder is 2.7 Gig and located in the traditional:
    Users/name/Music/iTunes/  spot
This issue also existed under Snow Leopard and I could never find a way to resolve. I was hoping the shift to Lion, with it's new iTunes screensaver would resolve this.
Just so you know, I took the complete contents of the Users/name/Music/iTunes folder and put it on my laptop, replacing everything that was there. The iTunes screensaver still worked fine on my laptop, thus pointing to some issue still on my iMac that I embarrassingly can't decipher.
Any and all suggestions welcomed, as the updated screensaver is now extra cool and would love to get it working.

I have just purchased a new Imac running 10.8 mountain lion, after loading new songs into itunes I too had no screen saver working showing the art work.
This had nothing to do with voice memos, no other items were connected so have tried this method and it works twice on both computers, the other is running leopard.
If all your music is on the main hard drive, check in finder and your itunes folders should be in music, all I did was make a new folder and call it music 2, make sure its under music on the left hand side, drag the itunes music folder containing only the music into this. From this go to itunes in applications delete itunes into trash, restart computer then download the latest version. When all opened up you should get a home page showing get music from icloud or scan for media, press scan and let the new version find it on your computer, when finished go to screen saver settings and notice the itunes screen saver working.
I don't know why this works either its a software fault with apple or just my luck, but I have had no problems since and looks greats on the screen.

  • ITunes screensaver: Disable the play album feature?

In Lion, the iTunes screensaver now plays any album you click but my habit is to click my trackpad or mouse to wake up my mac which inevitably launches iTunes in the background and of course hangs my system for several seconds before playing the music.
Is there any way to get back to the old screensaver where it woke immediately on mouse movement? Even just editing a .plist file would be a fine solution but I'm not familiar with the structure of the screensaver.
    Any help is appreciated.
    -Rob

Yes, I have the same problem. I love the screensaver but would like to stop the music launch.

  • ITunes Screensaver Error

    Hi all,
i'm having some troubles using the iTunes screensaver.
Every time i go to System Preferences and i try to set iTunes Artwors as the screensaver, System Preferences crash.
I've updated osx and itunes but the problem persist.
Thank you all and sorry for my bad english :P
    MacBook Pro 17" 2,4 Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

I've been having the same problem with my macbook pro. If I remember correctly, it also started crashing when I changed it to display two rows. After having system preferences crash multiple times, one time it finally didn't crash and I was able to set the itunes artwork as my screensaver. However, when I reopened system preferences again, I found that my screensaver was reverted to my previous one.
EDIT: I just found a fix.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304994
To fix the problem, trash the plist file that corresponds to the itunes artwork setting. To avoid the problem altogether, just don't use the 2 row setting.

  • ITunes Screensaver to actionscript 3

I'm attempting to reproduce the iTunes Screensaver as a flash
swf file. I'd like for it to be a basic website for visuals only.
No I don't want anything standalone (now). I don't need any other
functionality. This is a way for me to start learning Actioncript 3
from scratch. I just want the same effect as the iTunes
    Screensaver.
I have a number of Album Artwork image files in a directory.
I'd like to write an actionscript that:
    1. Reads the screen width and height of the user's browser
window (later I'll add the fullscreen and current window options).
    2. Read all images in the album artwork directory.
    3. Place the images in the window by row and column using all
    available width and height.
    4. Set a timer.
    5. Periodically* and randomly flip* the thumbnails to reveal
images not shown (*with the ability to set the time interval and
    transition effect).
Any help is appreciated. No I'm not an advanced Actionscript
coder. Yes I will look up anything you suggest in books. Please,
please be specific. Thanks for your help in advance.

Gulp. You're still the man though! Had me scratching my head.
    Thanks again. Time to code.
BTW, I thought of buying Colin Moock's, Essential
ActionScript 3 book. I looked through it and thought I'm not sure
if his teaching style benefits my learning style. O'Reilly books
usually don't teach me as well as others although they have a deep
depth of knowledge. I use them as references for skill sets I
    already know.
I also looked at and I'm considering buying ActionScript 3.0
for Adobe Flash CS3 Professional Hands-On Training.
I've had a Lynda.com account in the past. I like them. They
usually make what they are teaching apply to a project though. If
I'm lucky and they pick something I can apply it to, it works. If
not I don't get "foundation learning" from some of the videos and
    books.
So, I'll post it somewhere more appropriate too but, any
learning AS3 book recommendations anyone care to post here?
    Thanks,

  • Integrating iTunes U with Authentication at Lafayette College

A couple of folks have asked how we got iTunes U authentication working at Lafayette. Here's a quick run down of how we did it; if you have any questions about the specifics feel free to e-mail me at [email protected].
The quest for authentication started with reading Chapters 1 and 2 of the iTunes U documentation and downloading the sample connection scripts. This yielded a few observations: 1) we could use our department's preferred programming language, Perl, to build the authentication process 2) Apple designed iTunes U's user/roles framework on the assumptions that folks would use the eduCourse specification and that the college's campus authentication system would include role and course information.
Our campus LDAP does not store course information and has limited information about roles. Because of this, we decided to implement a two-part authentication -- first we'd authenticate against our campus LDAP directory, then we would check the user against eduCourse-based role and course information stored in a small MySQL database. With this information in hand, the Perl script then builds the connection script with all of the role/user/unique identifier information.
We are looking at extending campus LDAP to include the needed information, but in the short term this allows us to manage access to iTunes U.
The biggest headache we encountered in setting up the authenication process involved time. After many trials and too many errors, we determined that our web server's clock was out of sync with Apple's by 110 seconds. Since we only had 90 seconds to authenticate, that meant that the handshake couldn't be concluded. We solved the problem by making sure our server's clock is updated hourly against an NTP time server.
    The Process
    1. A private/public login page was created on our secondary web server, ww2.lafayette.edu. This login page accepts the user's Network ID and password and passes those values on to a Perl script. It also includes a "public link" that goes to the same Perl script
    2. The Perl script checks to see if the Network ID and password.
    3. If the Network ID and password are given, the credentials are checked against the campus LDAP server using Perl's LDAP functions. If the user authenticates, then a query is run against a MySQL database to determine what access that user should be granted based on roles (Instructor, Learner, Administrator) and courses (a list of unique identifiers for courses) based on the eduCourse specification.
    4. If the public link is clicked, then the user is connected directly to iTunes U with no credentials, which lands them on the public welcome page.

  • Thr screensaver turns off the music even when I Set it as yes, screensaver with music. I have restore the appletv, but it still happens.

My screensaver is turning off the music, even if i choose yes, screensaver with music. How to fix that? I have already restored the appletv.

Try manually connecting the device to your PC in Disk Mode and then restoring it iTunes.
    From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1363
Putting iPod devices with a Click Wheel into Disk Mode
If necessary, verify that your iPod has a Click Wheel.
Before placing the iPod into Disk Mode, verify that it is charged.
Toggle the Hold switch on and off (set it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least six seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.
Connect the iPod to your computer; the screen on the iPod will should say "Do not disconnect".
If you are having difficulty putting your iPod into Disk Mode, set it on a flat surface. Make sure that the finger pressing the Select button is not touching the Click Wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Play/Pause button toward the outside of the Click Wheel and not near the center. If you are still unable to put your iPod into Disk Mode, use one finger from one hand to press the Select button, and one finger from the other hand to press the Play/Pause button.

  • Why my itunes screensaver says that I don´t have lustration in my library???

when I bought my subscription to iTunes match, my iTunes screensaver started fails.
It says that I have no pictures in my iTunes library.
I have 438 albums with illustrations.
    How I can fix it?

    Hello ekbowers,
It sounds like you have installed the 64 bit version of iTunes, but you continue to the get an error message that suggests to download the 64 bit version any time you connect your iPhone 5.  I understand that you have already uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, but sometimes you may need to uninstall additional components related to iTunes to completely remove it from your system.
I recommend following the steps in this article to completely uninstall iTunes:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
Once you have completely uninstalled iTunes, you can download the 65 bit version of iTunes for Windows here:
    iTunes 11.0.4 for Windows 64
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1615
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
