  • Itunes installer won't run in Windows 7

I am trying to install the latest version of itunes on my new laptop and the installer won't run.  It is a samsung sereis 7 notebook running Windows 7.
I have downloaded itunes multiple times and tried running as administrator.  I do not get any error, and occasionally a progress bar will flash up on screen for a couple of seconds but then nothing happens.  Other times I don't even get the progress bar, just nothing happens when I try to open the installer.
Would appreciate any help with this problem.  Its driving me crazy not being able to add new music to my ipod!

  • Itunes store won't load\open

So basically yeah, my itunes store won't open at all. I have no error messages, nothing. I can see its loading, then it stop and i just have a blank page.
    I have a iMac with Os X Lion 10.7.5 and iTunes 11.0.2.
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi luluflower84,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  If you're unable to access the iTunes Store, I would first try quitting the app if it is open:
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
If the issue continues, try restarting and resetting your iPhone:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
If the issue continues, try accessing the iTunes Store through another app, such as the Music app, to see if you can access it that way.  The screenshot on this page shows the store link in the upper left corner:

  • ITunes 7 won't run after reinstalled XP MediaCenter & reinstall iTunes7

We made backup copies of the iTunes folder on an external HD, then reinstalled WinXp MediaCenter (not full clean install) and moved iTunes files back from the external HD, then reinstalled new iTunes 7; however, it won't run now. When we click on the icon, it just says "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close, we are sorry for the inconvenience. If you are in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost. Please tell Microsoft about this problem. We have created an error report that you can send to us." We've tried reinstalling iTunes many times. We've turned Antivirus & Wndows firewall off and on when installing, but no difference.
Anyone got any suggestions because my wife and 2 teenagers are lost without their iTunes and iPods.
    Thanks,

Someone in a different forum said to be sure that iTunes is installed under the primary user with Administrator Privileges. I'm pretty sure I did that, but I'll try it again to see what happens.

  • ITunes 8 won't run on my laptop (running Vista Home Premium)

Help. Upgraded to iTunes 8 two days ago and it doesn't work. I get a message that says iTunes help module has stopped working and then a message that iTunes has experienced an error and must close (after the interim message that Windows is looking for a solution). I've tried reinstalling iTunes 8 twice with same result. It won't run and now I can't even get an older version of iTunes to install (because it says I have a "later" version already on the computer). What gives? It's very frustrating and right now I don't have a working version of iTunes! Apple folks - can you help?

Click download now and press the same button on the next screen.
The second screen will be the subscribe by email prior to download. Just press the download key to bypass.

  • IPOD Setup won't run

    Hi all,
I got a new Shuffle as a present and set it up to charge this afternoon. I'm two hours into the charge (yes the orange light is blinking and my PC recognizes that "new hardware" is attached) and the Setup hasn't run. How do I get this to happen? Thanks!

Assuming you've connected it to a high speed USB port. Do you have itunes already installed on your computer? You may want to do that first.

  • ITunes 7 Setup Won't Run

I've downloaded the install several times and keep getting the error:
"The installation package could not be open. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package."
    Any suggestions?

Same problem here... Considering in this forum the number of bad feedbacks regarding the upgrade from v6 to v7, I will skip it for the moment, until Apple stabilizes this new version. At least, with v6, I have a perfectly working setup on my Windows laptop...

  • ITunes setup won't launch on windows 8

I finally got to download iTunes on my new Gateway laptop with Windows 8, but when I open the setup wizard (or try to) it tells me I have to find a version that runs for my PC. This is really mgetting me frustrated so can someone please help me out?

This worked for me although i'm not sure if it will work for you. Go to task manager (right click on the taskbar then click "Task Manager") and find all processes related to iTunes or just Apple software in general. Hit "End Task" to each of them then open them up again using whatever shortcuts you have set up. If this doesn't work, then I don't know what to tell you.

  • ITunes store won't display open. No error message or connection problems.

For the last few weeks I've been trying to access the iTunes store but it will not open. I click on "iTunes Store" but it just shows me a blank screen. It seems to load it judging by the bar that displays the song information but it just doesn't show any content. It also does not give me any type of error message nor does it have any problem when I go to sign in and view my account information. The problem is only on iTunes, my App Store works perfectly fine. No matter how many times I try refreshing the page it just shows me the same blank page. I have tried re-installing itunes multiple times with no results.
Here is a picture of what I see when I try to open the store:

    This article has some tips
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1368
(particularly under Troubleshooting on a Mac)
If that does not help...  As a test, to narrow down the cause, you may want to create a new user account in System Preferences Users & Groups pane.  It can be Standard or Admin.  Log out and log in to the new user account (do not use Fast User Switching).
Try running iTunes from the new user account, and accessing the iTunes Store.
If the problem does NOT occur in the new account, the cause is likely to be something in your primary user account.  For example, it could be user preferences settings, or something related to your iTunes library, or a background process that runs in your account that is interfering somehow.
If the same problem does occur in the new account, the cause is likely to be related to the overall OS, the iTunes application, or maybe network settings that block access to the iTunes Store.
Either way, you'll be able better focus additional troubleshooting.

  • Tried EVERYTHING, iTunes still won't run

    Hi all,
I apologize for the length of this post, but i'm at the end of my rope and want to be as specific as possible, for hope that someone out there can help. I will give you my firstborn child and a massage if you can fix this. Here's the situation:
I've been using iTunes for about 5-6 years now, with no real problems at all.
One day last week (I was running 8.2.1, which had been working fine), I tried to open iTunes, and got the message "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close." Tried to open it again, same error message.
Bypassed the desktop shortcut and tried to open iTunes directly from the Program Files... same error message.
    Rebooted, same error message.
    Uninstalled-reinstalled Quicktime, same error message.
    Uninstalled-reinstalled iTunes+Quicktime, same error message.
Then I did a couple of hours of research on multiple forums, including this site, but learned nothing helpful. No matter what I did the error message still came up.
Uninstalled-reinstalled iTunes+Quicktime separately, with Norton turned off, same error message.
Uninstalled iTunes, Quicktime, Apple mobile device support, Apple Software Update, reinstalled everything...same error message.
Went to the Event Viewer in Computer Management (right-click My Computer>Manage), searched for errors or warnings about iTunes, iPod, or Apple.... nothing.
Finally, tonight, performed a COMPLETE PURGE of iTunes from my computer- uninstalled iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Software Update, and Bonjour with the aid of Windows Install Clean-Up. Used Registry Crawler and deleted ALL entries containing "apple" and "itunes" from the registry. Used the XP search function with the little dog picture and deleted ALL "apple" and "iTunes" files (after backing up my music files). Then, confident there was NOTHING iTunes-related left, I went to the iTunes site and installed it.
After installation I opened up Task Manager to watch the Processes tab, and when I clicked "Finish" (with "Launch iTunes after installation" checked), iTunes.exe appeared in the Processes tab for a few seconds, then vanished. As usual. Tried to open it normally, and again... the dreaded error message popped up.
This is ridiculous. I work as an IT technician-I fix things like this for a living, and I cannot for the life of me figure this out! If anyone can help or has input, I would greatly, greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks a bunch in advance.
    Robert

    Katrina-
    iTunes WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was honestly wondering if I would ever be able to say that. Thank you incalcuably much. You need to let me know where to ship my firstborn child to. Here is what I did:
As much research as I had done, I hadn't really grasped that iTunes requires Quicktime to be rock-solid in order to work. Thank you for enlightening me. I searched and found a thread by polydorus that had a link on how to remove Quicktime-
Uninstall with add/remove programs (wouldn't let me- fatal error during installation came up no matter what I tried). I decided to proceed anyway. Rebooted, then deleted the quicktime folder from program files, then deleted the quicktime and quicktimeVR files from system32 folder. Then rebooted again and installed Quicktime standalone. When I double clicked the quicktime icon my jaw DROPPED when it actually opened. So with fingers crossed, I installed iTunes and LO AND BEHOLD, IT LIVES!!
If it helps anyone now or in the future, here's the thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9901375&#9901375
Thanks again so much Katrina. Now I have another, much less important question. My beloved custom equalizer presets are long gone. I figured this would happen when I started this quest about two weeks ago. When I said I had deleted ALL iTunes files from my computer awhile ago, I lied for the sake of clarity- I had backed up my entire My Music>iTunes folder on a flash drive, plus copied the entire thing into a place on the hard drive where I knew iTunes wouldn't find it and possibly get confused during installation or something. Are those EQ presets by chance stored in this folder? And is there a way to back them up in the future?
    Four-hundred UPS truckloads of "Thanks!"

  • Acrobat won't run: "open another product" message. Still won't run

    All,
I successfully installed Acrobat as part of CS4 Web Premium on a win7 64-bit system. Every time I try to run any Acrobat function like printing to pdf, openong a pdf, for example, I get a message that Acrobat was installed as part of a suite and I must start another part of the suite. I don't believe that this is the intended behavior - but if I am wrong let me know.
in all cases Acrobat takes at least two tries to open a pdf. Acrobat won't allow me to print to a pdf, even though the pdf option is listed among my printers. I document with pictures just spun the Win7 wheel for a couple of hours with nothing done. (I had to CTRL-ALT-DEL out of both Lightroom and Acrobat.)
I get this behavior even if Photoshop is already open, although I realize now that the Photoshop is CS5 and my only CS5 element (with its CS5 Bridge) among my CS4 modules.
The main trouble is that starting another application doesn't "work" - I  just tried this agin, creating a quick Word doc and trying to print it  to pdf. This time I got a new message "...Acrobat is not activated."   along with the usual "Start another program in the suite..." Activation  is not on the Acrobat Help menu.
I have a client that needs a pdf of a document made in Lightroom right away so this is so frustrating!
    Any suggestions?

    Bill,
I tried a couple of phrases and couldn't find one that pulled up solutions to this dilemma. I am open to suggestions.
I have had Adobe's tech support blow up my computer (well, not exactly blow it up, but cause me to have to reformat the whole darn thing...) so I chck here first. I also rarely can sit in my offfice for an hour or more on the phone to talk these things over with them.
