Itunes shows less memory than on my Ipod

I just purchased an Ipod picture/video 30gb, I have loaded 3376 songs into Itunes and Ipod so far, no pic's or videos, which comes out to 12.13gb. One day I received a "corrupt file" message in the bottom of my computer related to my Ipod. Itunes and Ipod still run ok, but now my Ipod indicates it only has about 4.6gb of memory remaining from Itunes. I checked memory on my Ipod and it is accurate stating 12.13gb have been used. Why is Itunes indicating that I only have 4.6gb remaining on my Ipod, is there a way to fix this?

Please clarify.
How do you get the audio from a TV show if the show doesn't appear on the iPod? Is it that the show really is there but that the video doesn't appear? If that's the case, check your TV Out setting.

  • IPod Showing Less Space Than It Should

    Hi
I've got a 4G 40GB iPod which I use for both music and storing data. Now I've just removed a few GBs of work I had stored on there leaving only about 100 MB of files. My iTunes library comes to 33GB but my iPod says I only have 700 MB spare.
Now I know its capacity is really only about 37GB but that should still leave me with another 3Gb of current free space.
Are there some kind of hidden files or have the files I moved to the trash not actually been removed?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    iMac G5 20"   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    I feel so ashamed.
I was just returning to the board to withdraw this question as I realised I hadn't actually dumped the trash.
Thanks for your quick reply though. Much appreciated.
I'm off to soak my head.

  • Itunes shows library different than on Touch

What's showing as on my IPod Touch 5th gen. is different than what's actually on the device and available for me to play.
I know, you won't believe me, but ITunes shows a whole different list of songs than what I see when I browse the device. It's like 2290 items according to iTunes, (good!), compared with 127 songs I can see on the device (bad!). Coincidentally, those 100 or so are all ones I've purchased from Apple.
The truth is that I've had persistent, massive problems with this thing over its life, which I've occasionally railed about here. Long story.
Question is, how do I get these two in sync again? - with all the tracks I've put on it, painstakingly, over hours and days. I suppose this could easily be for the ITouch forum, but I'm arbitrarily posting here because it occurs after hooking the device up to iTunes.
    Thanks for any info.

In an ideal world all of your media content is on your system drive, listed in iTunes and organized in a portable layout. You then have a complete clone of the iTunes folder as a backup. If your system drive is too small to hold everything then putting the entire library on an external drive with a backup on a second drive also works. If you want access to some content on the laptop when travelling without having to take the external then it is possible to split the library up and store some content locally and not others, but that requires more effort to get right.
I'm still not clear what has gone wrong on your system, but some third party tools (e.g. Sony VIAO media manager and some antivirus packages) can interfere with the way the iTunes updates its database files leading to the concessional corruption. iTunes also expects all media content to stay in the same place so any manual manipulation of the media folders can lead to trouble.

  • Can I have iTunes show all my playlists?  Two iPods

I have two ipods.  One has less space than the other.  I sync music manually in iTunes.  When I open iTunes should'nt I see all playlists no matter if I set them up on Ipod #1 vs #2?
    Does that make sense?
So I create a playlist on ipod #1, and then I attach the smaller iPod and want to addt the same playlist without having to search and pick all the specific songs again.
    Thanks!

    Nope, not at this time.

  • Why does my iTunes show more photos than I really do on my device?

I only have 493 photos on my device but my iTunes shows that I have 644 and a lot of memory is used because of that? Any reason why this happens and how I might be able to delete the extra photos?

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
If this does not help, setting it up as new device would be the next step:
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

  • LESS MEMORY THAN IT SHOULD!

I have recently bought a 4gb Nano, however, when connected to itunes I am told that there is only 3.79gb available. I've tried "Restoring" it but it made no difference. Is there any way I can access the full 4gb that I thought i'd bought?
    Many Thanks

"One more thing about iPod disk size
In iPod's About menu, the hard disk size is reported as slightly less than the technical specifications for the iPod. The same is true if you connect iPod to your computer in disk mode look at the info or properties window for the disk.
Why the difference? Most hard disk manufacturers measure disk size this way: 1 MB = 1 million bytes (1000 * 1000). A 4 GB disk, therefore, is one that holds 4 billion bytes. Computers, including Windows computers, Macintosh computers and iPod, measure disk size this way: 1 MB = 1 048 576 bytes (1024 * 1024). The difference in these two calculations is what causes the drive to appear as 3.7 GB on a computer, but actually be a 4 billion byte disk."
    ~3.79GB is the correct size.

  • Less Memory than installed

I know that a Win 7 32-bit can only access less than 4 GB RAM.
But in my case the installed Ram i can see in the OSX are 8 GB and the RAM in Win 7 are only 2,17 GB usable.
Win 7 Resource Monitor shows me "Hardware Reserved 5975 MB"

    What year model?
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/index-macbookpro.html
My 2006 has old (buggy) EFI ROMs and only supported 1.9GB RAM (even though showed all 8GB as physically there) with 32-bit Vista and 7.
64-bit does have much better. Any reason why not use it? if you bought retail you have both 32 and 64-bit DVD media already.
I can't say I fully understand why though even Macs have system hardware "space" but not part of the user installed memory.
Tried Ubuntu 64-bit or another 64-bit (SuSE)?

  • SQL server 2012 Ent using less memory than the allocated amount after enabling -T834

I am facing the situation mentioned here.
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/psssql/archive/2009/06/05/sql-server-and-large-pages-explained.aspx
My SQL Server 2012 is not able to use all the 112 GB RAM that was allocated to it after enabling -T834.
This was not the case earlier. Now I see the Total server memory and target server memory counters are just 27 GB constantly. I found the below error while starting SQL after enabling -T834. I restarted services again and this time it started fine. But I
didnt bother about the error untill users complained slowness and SQL memory usage was found to be low.
Detected 131068 MB of RAM. This is an informational message; no user action is required.
Using large pages in the memory manager.
     Large Page Allocated: 32MB
Large page allocation failed during memory manager initialization
Failed to initialize the memory manager
     Failed allocate pages: FAIL_PAGE_ALLOCATION 2
     Error: 17138, Severity: 16, State: 1.
Unable to allocate enough memory to start 'SQL OS Boot'. Reduce non-essential memory load or increase system memory.
Now, SQL is started by its Total server memory is only 27 GB. How can I make SQL server use all the allocated max server memory with -T834 still on ?

    Hi Bharath ,
in the below post the scenario is mentioned clearly
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/psssql/archive/2009/06/05/sql-server-and-large-pages-explained.aspx
Unable to allocate enough memory to start 'SQL OS Boot'. Reduce non-essential memory load or increase system memory.
This shows one of the problems with large pages: the memory size requested must be contiguous. This is called out very nicely at the MSDN
    article on Large Pages
    These memory regions may be difficult to obtain after the system has been running for a long time because the space for each large page must be contiguous, but the memory may have become fragmented. This is an expensive operation;
therefore, applications should avoid making repeated large page allocations and allocate them all one time at startup instead.
In this case above, even if ‘max server memory’ was set to say 8Gb, the server could only allocate 2Gb and that now becomes a maximum allocation for the buffer pool. Remember we don’t grow the buffer pool when using large pages so whatever memory we allocate
at startup is the max you get.
The other interesting thing you will find out with large pages is a possible slowdown in server startup time. Notice in the ERRORLOG entry above the gap of 7 minutes between the server discovering trace flag 834 was on (the "Using large pages..” message)
and the message about how much large memory was allocated for the buffer pool. Not only does it take a long time to call VirtualAlloc() but in the case where we cannot allocate total physical memory or ‘max server memory” we attempt to allocate lower values
several times before either finding one that works or failing to start. We have had some customers report the time to start the server when using trace flag 834 was over 30 minutes.
    regards,
    Ram

  • Query showing less data than the listcube

    Hi Gurus,
For the same keyfigure I am getting $20 less in the query but the LISTCUBE of the multiprovider is showing correct value compared to R/3.
    Please extend your ideas.

    Hi,
It is exactly the same filter criteria that I have put in the LISTCUBE which is pulling correct data in the list cube.
    Thanks

  • Why Photoshop CC is showing less memory rather then the installed?

    Dear all,
in my Windows 8 (64 bit) I've 12 GB of RAM installed, but oddly Photoshop CC 64 bit shows only 3255 available RAM.
This is blocking me from on using some expensive tool like content aware fill, because I get "not enough memory".
    Who can help?
    Thanks
    Nadia

You are using the 32bit version.  Both 32 and 64bit versions are installed.  You need to find the 64bit version.

  • Vimeo Searches in ATV2 show less results than in osx

    Hi all,
I live in Argentina, have an ATV2 and MacBook Pro.
Searches in vimeo through opera show extesively more results than searches through ATV2.
Does anyone know how to solve this?
    Thanks

    Hi Will,
Hmmm... That's a tough question without seeing the results of FMAF, at least. Sometimes, something goes wrong with the reassignment (if you did any) or the carry-forward. Sometimes, it's somehow connected to internal process which differs from SAP standard (again, if you have any). Could be really several reasons, but most of them are resulted from enhanced solutions in FM.

  • It shows less memory. why?!

i have a 3220 mobile phone, and my pc suite is working properly. and i don't have problems.
my only difficulty is that when i use the application installer, it shows that i have 119kb free memory on the phone, when, on the phone it shows 504kb!!!
what is happening? why is that? do i have to do something? is there something wrong with my phone?
    pls help me.
    10q

Sounds to me like it's indicating that you have 119kb free for use with installing applications... the memory on your phone will be split up with some free for aplication installation, some free for gallery data etc... doesn't sound like there's a problem to me.

  • Table structure shows less fields than in output

         Dear Experts,
The requirement is get the value of KTEXT and LTEXT of table CSKA.
If you see the structure of CSKA in SE11, it will show 10 fields but when you see the values, it will show 12 fields including KTEXT and LTEXT.
How to extract the data from KTEXT and LTEXT.
PS: How to get the values of KTEXT and LTEXT.
    Regards
    Mani

    Hi Mani,
The CSKA table contains only 10 fields but you can see extra three fields KTEXT, LTEXT and MCTXT fields. These are the fields from CSKA text table. In order to check text table traverse through Goto -> Texttable. It will show the text table CSKU in this case. From CSKU you can fetch the three fields.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Usage showing more memory than is accounted for

how do i get rid of 'other' storage bloating?

Other is email, text messages, and the stuff that apps use in the background, like when you save your place in a game.  You can try deleting old email and text messages.  Specifically if people send you pictures in text messages and as attachments.
Other than that, yes you need to restore your phone as new and do not restore from a backup, the backup will put the "Other" stuff right back on your phone.
