Itunes shuts down before download is complete from itunes store.

After purchasing a CD from itunes, I tried downloading it onto my computer. When it seems as though the item has finished downloading (it says processing) itunes stops working and shuts down.
Then my songs disappear from itunes altogether. It isn't with just one CD, it is with multiple CD's. Any help and suggestions are greatly apprecaited.

Can you post your "minimal" iTunes diagnostics for me, Cris? (I'd like to doublecheck that your Apple Application Support and QuickTime are up to date.)
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck *all four boxes* and click "Next". Paste the top part of the results into a reply here.

Itunes shuts down while downloading cd (music) onto itunes please help!!!!

My computer has been shutting down each time I attempt to transfer music from a cd onto itunes. I have tried deleting my itunes from my computer and installing the new version, however I continue to experience this problem. I would start here. I would also go to your computer manufacturer's site and download all the latest firmware for your computer, including for your CD drives.

Why does iTunes shut down when i try to access the store?

My iTunes has worked fine for many years but recently it started shutting down as soon as i clicked the Store, Match or Ping link.

Just deleting and reinstalling the software won't delete your music. Your music is stored on your computer. But, you should backup your iTunes purchases on a timely basis regardless.

ITunes shuts down when trying to import from CD

I have changed every setting and gone through every help file and uninstalled/reinstalled, etc and no matter what I do, when I try to import songs from a CD to iTunes, I get the message that iTunes has encountered an error and will be shut down at which point I have the option to send or not send the error report.
Why is this happening to me? I bought an iPod for my sister for a gift last night and loved it so much I went out and bought one for myself today and now I'm a little upset the only songs I can put on them are ones I buy from the iTunes music store

ITunes Match isn't Download my Songs From iTunes

So I just bought iTunes Match, and I decided to do a little test. I took a song that I got from a CD (We Found Love by Rihanna) and I changed the name and album and everything so that it matched the song "International Love (feat. Chris Brown)" by Pitbull. I right clicked the song and clicked "Add to iCloud". And after a couple seconds it said that it "matched" the song to iTunes, not uploaded. I deleted the song from iTunes and from my computer and emptied the Trash too. Then I clicked the little cloud beside the song. It downloaded the song, and it had the right artwork for it, but when I played the song, it played "We Found Love". Am I missing something? Because this doesn't make any sense to me!

The matching process uses waveform analysis. I have had songs titled "track o1" get matched.
If it didn't work this way, you could duplicate the same song several times, rename it and basically steal music from the iTunes store, something I don't think Apple would be too happy about.

Turn off iTunes Match while holding down the Option key (Shift for Windows) then quit iTunes. Open it after a few seconds, and turn iTM back on.

Ok, since Windows 7 and iTunes at 64 bit both work there must be another source, either:
- Some form of corruption with the iTunes library - to resolve, hold down shift key while starting iTunes create new library, import Song files and repeat CD import on that library.
or
- 3rd party software intervening - most likely culprits are Windows native and/or 3rd party security software - worth switching these off - restarting Windows and trying again to eliminate each in turn.
In parallel - would suggest you also post issue on iTunes for Windows forum since this is not an iTunes Match issue.

New iMac but iTunes shuts down when I download or add "purchased" videos.

I just bought a new iMac, first I went to an Apple store and inquired that my main use would be with iTunes. I began to transfer songs from my iPod to the Mac using the Senuti file. The major problem is that I am forced to manually add the songs and videos to my library, but whenever theres an attempt to add any videos that I have purchased iTunes shuts its application, forcing me to reopen it only the find the video is not added. I did a test by purchasing a new video and I can see the download completing, but when it does the final part, again itunes shuts down and I've lost the video. Someone sent me a video gift and I was unable to download the video and the itunes store indicates that I have already spent the download, but its not in my library? I don't know what the problem is.

First, I'd suggest you make sure that your iMac has the latest updates: Mac OS X 10.4.9, QuickTime 7.1.6, and iTunes 7.1.1. If it doesn't, update and see if that improves things.
If not, Senuti may have created a corrupt iTunes library. You may need to delete the iTunes library files and add your tracks and videos again (and for any that haven't transferred from your iPod, you may wish to try a different transfer utility).

Downloaded videos play for 10 seconds then iTunes shuts down

Have downloaded 2 videos from Music Store. They work well on my new iPod 30GB, but will not play on my PC. Reasonably good spec PC - AMD Athlon XP2000+ processor, 512 RAM, 128MB Graphics RAM (nVididia GeForce fx5200)and I have no problem playing DVDs on my PC. OK, Today I went ahead & booted & tried again & it worked this time.
Not sure why it didn't yesterday. Maybe the servers were just overloaded? Several others reported similar.
Also yesterday when I ran Speedtest it showd download at about 25 mbps, This morning just before I re-started the download it was showing just above 30 mbps. So maybe the internet was less busy? Or at least the parts between me & the test server.
& so far it is working ok.

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entries, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

try reseting your ipod by holding down the home button and the sleep button.

Why is it that whenever I download a song from Itunes that a small grey round button appears next to the song (apparently this is the download progress button), but when I press on it to resume, the song disappears. This wasn't happening before.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
