Itunes Shuts Down during/directly after syncing.

The sync is never successful. I try to put some music on my 2nd gen. Ipod Touch and it closes. I get the "Itunes has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

My profile says windows xp it is really windows vista. I just tried a second generation ipod nano and it synced perfectly so i think there is a problem with my ipod now.

  • Itunes shuts down during iphone 5c sync

When syncing one of our two new iphone 5c's in itunes after it was "restored" from old 1phone 4; itunes shuts down as soon as the APP button in clicked.
All other tabs work, but as soon as the APP button is clicked, itunes shuts down.
I have the updated version of itunes and the updated iOS software.  I shut down and restarted both the computer and phone with the same issue.
I am able to use the APP button with the other new iphone 5c.
Any suggestions or guidance?  Thank you!

This is really silly but here is the soultion:
You can't have Newsstand hidden in a folder.
If you do, move it to the homescreen then you will be able to access the Apps tab in iTunes 11.1.  You can always move it to the folder afterwards. You can't have Newsstand hidden in a folder.  If you do, move it to the homescreen then you will be able to access the Apps tab in iTunes 11.1.  You can always move it to the folder afterwards.

  • SInce updating my iphone 5S to ios 8, iTunes shuts down during the app sync process. Any ideas how to fix? I now have the newest version of itunes on my laptop and it still shuts down.

Since updating my iphone 5s software to ios 8, iTunes shuts down everytime in the app sync process. I have the most current version of Itunes on my laptop. Any ideas of how to fix?

I feel its more of my sync drivers for itunes/iphone not working if that makes sense. Its not my itunes that stops responding, its more of that if the phone syncs up it fails to anything further.
I've tried sync another iphone to the same itunes and windows autoplayer will allow the photos sorted on the iphone to be saved to the laptop but itunes won't even recongise the device is plugged in.
Although it will charge the battery

  • ITunes won't shut down - but only after syncing

I ran into an odd problem and found a workaround, so I thought I would post it here in case anyone else runs into this. In searching, I couldn't find anything like it:
The details: Running iTunes 7.5 on a freshly installed copy of XP. Have two iPods -- a Touch, and an iPod video.
The problem: If I open and close iTunes without connecting an iPod, everything is fine. However, if I connect either iPod and allow it to sync, iTunes will continue to run even after it's shut down. It starts hogging as much CPU time as it can get, which slows the system to a crawl -- and causes an error message when I try to restart the machine.
The solution: I found I could eliminate this problem if after syncing, I went into the Windows Task Manager and killed the "SyncServer.exe" process. So just for yuks, I found this file and moved it from its current location so that it would never load. I thought iTunes would balk at this, but it didn't -- both iPods still sync, and the above problem no longer occurs.
Surely there's got to be some penalty for killing this file, but I haven't run into any problems ... yet. Has anyone else been bit by this issue?

  • ITunes shuts down when attempting to sync iPod nano (4th gen)

Ever since I upgraded to iTunes8, I haven't been able to sync my iPod nano.
When I plug the nano into my laptop, iTunes pops up as usual, but then immediately stops working. A box reading: itunes has stopped working pops up, then the program closes automatically.
I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, resetting the iPod and trying to restore the iPod to get new stuff on it, but iTunes just shut down again as it was starting to restore the iPod.
SO- I have lost everything on my iPod-- I can't use it for anything! It's really frustrating, and I'm not sure what to do at this point!
    Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!

  • Iphone 3GS 16gb itunes shuts down when attemping to sync photos

itunes ver 10.1.0.56; iphone 3gs os 4.1; after phone is connected to itunes and is recognized i can sync all other tabs except the photos tab; I can click on the photo tab and when I select the folder pictures the dialog box comes up and says itunes has stopped working; itunes even stops working if I uncheck the Sync photos from box.

Where are the photos stored on your PC? Are they in a folder on the desktop, in the My Pictures folder or in some other photo editing software?
One thing you can try is updating iTunes and deleting the iPod Photo Cache.

  • My PC shuts down during render after CC update

    Hello all,
I just rendered a video last week with no issues. I updated After Effects CC a few days ago and now my PC shuts off about half way through a render. It is only a ten second clip with very little effects in it.
I have tried different video formats and codecs, I also tried to render the project in Media Encoder and Premiere Pro...the same result. My system is fine and I was rendering videos no problem until this update. Can we roll back updates?
I can't get through to Adobe to get help so I am trying the forum. This video is due tomorrow so I will probably lose a lot of money and a client.

I do appreciate the suggestion, I thought about doing the same approach. I had to dumb down my graphics a lot to at least get the titles done in After Effects. I basically had to recreate my animation, add one effect, render, and wait to see if it shuts down. I was able to render all of the effects, particle systems, motion blur, and camera movements last week with no issues. I updated to AE 12.1 and now I can't render anything but basic applications.
I am now having the issue in Premiere Pro CC after it's update. I rendered out three one minute videos with no problem in Premiere Pro CC last night. I did some edits to a five minute video that I have been working on for a few weeks today, go to render, about half way through...shut down. I am sure that I will have to start another thread on that issue.
I am about ready to get out of Adobe and go to Autodesk for editing and compostiting if these issues keep happening.
Adobe Tech support claims that my PC isn't powerful enough to handle AE and PPRO CC, but I was rendering with both programs with no issues a week ago. There is no problem with my PC. I believe they have no answer to my problem. I may have to reinstall CC and not update, but I know that I need them for other issues in the programs. I am stuck and I have projects due.
Thank you for listening to my venting. I will update if I find a solution.

  • Macbook pro shuts down during reboot after flat battery

Hi, I have a macbook pro (early 2011) And it went flat two nights ago whilst watching a movie. It was plugged in but I've been having charger issues. Anyway, now that it's fully charged, whenever i turn it on it gets to the apple logo with a progress bar (restoring the previous session maybe?), but then shuts down. I've tried a few times and its the same everytime.I suspect that it's trying to restore the last session (the progress bar - I cant recall whether that happens normally) and running into problems because of the flat battery episode. Can a session restore be cancelled?
I can still boot up the windows partition by pressing the option button during start up, its just the mac partition that wont boot. Also, I am still running Snow Leopard (what it came with, though with all updates).any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Anyone?

  • Mac Mini shuts down during startup after update

I've got a Late 2009 Mac Mini running Snow Leopard Server. Occasionally, it takes me awhile to restart after updates, so this could be due to the most recent update or possibly the combination of the last two...
I went into my office, saw that there was a Safari update and decided to let it do its thing. When I came back 30 minutes later, my machine was off. I turned my machine back on, got the gray Apple screen with the spinning cog and the progress indicator for the update. A little over 10% through, the progress indicator reset. No biggie, I figured. Second time it got to the same point, it just shut down. Nada. When I restart, it does the same thing.
    I've tried resetting PRAM.
    I've tried resetting SMC.
I've tried booting in safe mode, but that isn't working at all – just does the same thing as when I (fail to) boot normally.
Everything but one of my screens and my keyboard is disconnected. ****, I even tried booting without either one connected (I just waited to see if it would turn off), and it failed.
Can't think of or find anything else.
    Anyone?

Humm.. you'll need to startup from your System Install Disc to test, repair or restore from Time Machine.
Some options for Starting up from your Install Disc include:
    1. in an External Optical DVD Drive.
    2. from another iMac in Target Disk Mode.
    3. from a copy on a Thumb Drive or External HD.
It's to bad that you are using Time Machine on the second HD instead of a clone with Carbon Copy Cloner - Home or SuperDuper! that you could boot from for testing, repairing and/or restoring.
If none of the above helps?

  • G4 Sawtooth upgraded to 1.2Ghz Shuts down During Post after Leopard Install

Hey everyone I also have a G4 sawtooth and I attempted to 1st upgrade to Leopard and the machine would boot to the Apple logo and shut down. I checked the HD it was fine I was able to slave it to my MacBook. So I partitioned and Clean Installed Leopard took a while to install and then I transferred all my settings and files over. Worked for one boot and same issue Apple Logo and quick shut down. I think I am gonna image and not transfer settings to see what happens. Anyone have this issue?

Update: I removed all third-party PCI cards and peripherals, and was able to boot from the Leopard DVD. Performed an archive/install, and everything worked properly. Reinstalled/reconnected all the hardware I'd removed, and it all works fine.
So, the moral of the story is:
    * Remove all third-party hardware prior to the upgrade
    * Perform an archive/install (or an erase/install)--DO NOT simply upgrade!
    * Reinstall third-party hardware one item at a time to check compatibility
List of third-party stuff I removed & reinstalled, for the curious:
    Sonnet Tango FireWire/USB PCI card
    MacWireless 802.11g PCI card
    Acon USB PCI card
    External FireWire disk
    iSight
    D-Link DWB-120M USB Bluetooth module
    USB-B2K Skype telco adapter
The Sonnet 1GHz CPU upgrade works fine. When I originally purchased it, the 1GHz model was the fastest one that didn't require special firmware, and I figured that was the best way to go. Sure enough, no CPU-related issues with the Leopard upgrade. Now, if I can lay hands on a Radeon 9700 or 9800 Pro graphics card...

  • Dreamweaver shuts down during launch after transfer

When I try to lauch Dreamweaver, a dialog box pops up saying 65016. I press 'ok', and the program shuts down. (I just transfered my Creative Suite from my old macbook to my new Imac, and the rest of the programs work fine.) Anyone? I've tried Adobes online support chat but they ended up refering me to here.

If you have a valid Serial Key even though you don't have a CD/ DVD drive, you can download a fully functional 30-day trial of CS3 from here:
    http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html
Read the 'Very Important Instructions' section carefully before attempting to download the trial install files. Note that this website lets you download from adobe.com only. The reason to share this link is because Adobe.com doesn't officially list out previous version downloads any longer.
Once you download the trial from here, use your original serial key to activate your installation.
If you're in no hurry however, wait till you receive your Ext. CD Drive to proceed with your installation!

  • Mac shuts down during startup after removal AppleSetupDone in Terminal, can I fix this ? 'touch' didn't help.

Hi, first of all thanks for reading, and I apologize for fooling around in Terminal.
I followed a method to remove applesetupdone in terminal, in order to enter the menu to create a new admin account. I had done this before on a computer that was given to me and it had worked very well. This time it didn't, though. I know I used a different website this time, I'm pretty sure the previous one made use of sudo, this one didn't.
I must have done something wrong. Perhaps when I followed a hint that came up inside terminal that told me to load something, because what I wanted was impossible / read only.
In any case my MacMini (1.83 ghz, Snow Leopard) starts up and shows the grey apple logo and the progress 'wheel', then shuts itself down. It does not mount when I connect it to my macbook with firewire. I can still get into sum / terminal but I don't know what to do. I tried 'touch' to restore applesetupdone but it didn't work.
I would really appreciate any help.
    Thanks in advance!
