ITunes Sign In and Genius Wont Connect?
Hey All,
I have a repeating problem about my connection with Genius and signing in? It says there is an error and that I need to check my internet connection to see if it is active? I am using a modem, and I watch it connect right in front of my eyes. I don't have a problem with viewing things in the iTunes store, browsing in the iTunes Store, or any other thing. I was trying to turn on genius because I got new music so I figured that I wouldn't just update, I would turn it off and then back on to make sure I got every single one of my results delivered from apple. Apparently, it won't connect, and its driving me crazy... it comes up every time... I'm looking for a good answer and i am looking to award points to that person.

30 sec internet time-out is not enough for itunes servers so changing it to 2 or more minutes solves the problem.
It's very annoying and quite embarrassing that apple support doesn't know about it when you ask for help and they suggest to reinstall itunes, rebuild library (loose ratings) etc.

Yes, due to Incomplete Software Update on your iPhone your Device is now in Recovery Mode and you cannot take a Backup now. But if you have taken a backup earlier then you can Restore that backup on your iPhone after you Reset your iPhone to Factory Settings.

What have you tried so far in terms of troubleshooting this issue? Are you plugging the iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port on the back of your PC? Have you tried a different USB cable?
What happens if you try to reset the device with it still connected to the PC?

I just replaced my iPod 5th gen. a week ago, and it was working fine, but when I went to go turn the screen on, it wouldn't turn on. I've tried to put it on the charger and it wouldn't charge and it wont connect to my computer, how do i fix this? I tried to reset the iPod, by pressing the home and power button but nothing works. It's literally a brand new iPod, I dont know what to do now. Help?

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Try unchecking the "Encrypt backup" checkbox. You will still have to enter a password, but you can go through a lot of passwords faster this way. If you ever had a corporate Ms Exchange account try your old domain passwords. Also try familiar passwords all lower case.
Finally, there is a professional password cracker that is made primarily for the law enforcement market by Elcomsoft. It will always be able to find your password, but it may take years to do it if you had a really good password. You can give it a list of passwords that you have used, however, and it will try variations on them, as well as dictionary searches. It's expensive, but there is a trial version that will give you the first two characters of your password. -

I changed my AppleID a long time ago to an email that I no longer use and I have updates for apps that I can't update because my old email is filled in to where i sign in and it wont let me change it to my new one???
The problem with those two apps is that they are supposed to be in your Apple ID and you didn't set up the Mac properly/completely when you got it.
You might try deleteing them and using OS X Recovery to install them again.
