Repair your Apple Software Update.
Go to START/ALL PROGRAMS/Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install
If you don't find ASU in All Program, go to Control Panel, Add & Remove programs and repair it.

Hi, after installation of itunes software from Apple website successfully, when i enter the "Accept" Button in the Software Licence Agreement Terms & Conditon, I get error message "Tunes has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience". I am having windows XP in my PC. I have tried to remove & reinstall, temporarily suspended by anti virus software, but still getting the same error message

Tunes has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience
Generate another of those error messages and click the "Click here" link in the error message box. What modname and modver are showing for the error? (Precise spelling please.)
If the error is a BEX and thus doesn't show an modname or modver, let us know what P1 through P9 items are showing for you instead.

  • Using Fifth Gen and 20G on same Itunes software

I have both 5th Gen and 20Photo. I want to have same playlists etc on both. How do I take itunes software for 20G color and have it recognize and update 5th Gen?
The computer won't recognize the 5th Gen, and I am afraid if I put in the disc that came with 5th, it might ruin my 20G library. I guess I need the driver for the 5th for the comp to recognize it any help?

The iPod Updater contains the latest drivers (firmware) for every iPod. If you have it on the PC now, then just update the iPod (if needed). Chances are, you need the most recent Updater loaded for the 5th Gen. Use the disk or download it.
If you still have problems with the new iPod, you may have connectivity issues for one or more various reasons. See this for some tips: http://discussions.apple.com/click.jspa?searchID=612314&messageID=1308216

  • HT201210 I installed latest iTunes software on my Windows 7 PC, and now I keep getting error messages. Mainly one stating that MSVCR80.dll is missing. Where do I get this file from?

I installed the latest iTunes software on my Dell Windows 7 PC. Durring installation, when it got to the "Starting Services" part, I got an error message:
    iTunes
Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Devices) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient priveleges to start system services.
    Abort    Retry   Ignore
    "Ignore" was highlighted.
I tried "Retry" but same message kept coming up, so I tried "Ignore"
Install completed. But when I tried to start iTunes, I got message:
    "iTunes.exe
The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
    Followed by the message:
"iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)."
I have tried the install procedure (after uninstalling iTunes) several times with the same results. Where do I get the file MSVCR80.dll? How do I get past this?

Click here and follow the instructions.

  • HT201210 Just updates itunes software on my windows PC and now it won't open because of Runtime error R6034 can you help?

Just updated itunes software on my windows PC and now it won't open because of Runtime error R6034 can you help?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

Please reinstall Itunes) Well, I have tried to repair it, uninstall and reinstall it. It just doesnt seem to work out. I have also tried to download the installation again, nothing can be done. Now, I need to know what to do. I have my iphone and it needs to sync on here. Is there any alternatives to itunes if this does not work.

  • I cannot download the newest iTunes software on my Windows?

Why can't I download the latest iTunes software to my Windows 7?

Perhaps try downloading and saving a copy of the installer to a different PC. (If you're on a 32-bit Windows system, try to download on a different 32-bit Windows system.) Copy the iTunesSetup.exe installer to an external hard-drive, or a large-enough thumb drive or burn it to a CD-R. Carry the installer back to your PC, copy the installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install from the ExHD, thumb or CD-R.) Start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file.

Can anyone help. I have tried a million times to install the latest itunes software onto my pc with nothing but failure every time. I have tried installing it in compatibility mode as well as normal w7 mode but it fails every time.
it gest so far with the inital download then comes up with a major error about key permissions.
I know this is a major issue between apple and microsoft and it seems that every forum out there is saying that 64bit w7 wont run the latest itunes but come on guys surely there has to be a wiz kid at apple or microsoft who can solve this problem?
I have spent loads of money on an iphone and have an ipod touch but they are useless if i cant sort my music and videos or update the software on them.
If this doesn't get fixed then I'm ditching apple for good.

I'm having the same problem & I can't talk to tech unless I pay? I don't want to pay when iTunes is the problem. I have window's 7 & I run 64 bit. Well Every single time I try to install iTunes 9.2.1 it says that part of the installation failed & it won't let my iPod nano or my gen. 5 iPod run on iTunes. so far every iPod I've tried says no then it tells me to reinstall iTunes. Well I've reinstalled like 20 times & I get the same error each time even when installing later versions of iTunes. What's the deal? Help please! I want my iTunes & iPod back working together!

  • ITunes 9 Installation - /system/library/extensions/CNQL2410_ClassicNotSeize

When I installed ITunes 9 I received the error message "System extension cannot be used /system/library/extensions/CNQL2410_ClassicNotSeize.kext was installed improperly". The ITunes 9 installation completed successful and seems to be working OK.
On another discussions I read about similar issues related to Snow Leopard and e.g. CanonScan LIDE 500F and other third party software.
Anybody a suggestion how to correct this problem?

This has showed up since I upgraded to Snow Leopard, and this dialog came on the screen after upgrading iTunes to 9.01. I have previously had the scanner software installed on the computer - it doesn't work after upgrading to Snow Leopard. I don't have Rosetta turned on.
I would just go take out the file, but I don't want to mess anything else up in the process. Anyone know if we can just take out this file, or should we uninstall the Canon Lide scanner software?

Trying to update my Itunes software, now it does not want to work at all, givin strange error messages.
First, when trying to sync ipod touch to Itunes, nothing happened. After that, Itunes suggested downloading and installing updates but now updates will not finish installation correctly and launch error messages. Any ideas?
    TKS !

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 800736B3s, or a different error code? If they're different, what codes are you getting in Windows Update?

  • The older version of Apple Software Update cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group. I was update the iTunes software and it gave me that message. I ended up without iTunes and not I can't download info for my iPad.

I tried to update my iTunes software for my iPad. I got the above message. iTunes did not install and now I no longer had iTunes at all.  I can't update my iPad software without it.
I have tried Revo, CCleaner, COMODO, "find" in Regedit.  Nothing finds anything related to Apple Software Update.

okay, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility and use it to remove the installation configuration information for your Apple Software Update:

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another install. Does it go through this time?

  • When downloading itunes software i get an error message:'apple apllication support not found"

when downloading itunes software i get an error message:'apple application support not found'...error2 (windows error2)

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if one component, such as Apple Application, won't install normally.

When installing the new iTunes software, the message : "the older version of apple software update cannot be removed." What should I do? I tried deleting files related through control panel or the manual way, but it doesn't work. Am I missing something?

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple Website:

  • I am trying to update itunes software to 10.5 but I get an error message saying to try manually installing and I try that and it still doesn't work, Help!!

I am trying to update itunes software to 10.5 but I get an error message saying to try manually installing, HELP!!!

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)
