ITunes sometimes won't open and displays "Choose iTunes Library" error
I have the latest current update of iTunes 8.2.0 for Mac OS X v10.4. Since the introduction of iTunes 8, from time to time, I get an error message where iTunes doesn't even load at all, and the software wants to "Choose iTunes Library" or quit. So I simply quit iTunes, then restart iTunes, and the problem is taken care of but this happens a lot, and I haven't had any problems with earlier versions of iTunes before the 8.0 update. One of the things I would like to see in the next big update to iTunes is some advancements in Cover Flow, like when browsing through Cover Flow on an iPod touch, you're able to click on the album artwork and then the list of songs are displayed. I wish that Cover Flow on iTunes had the same type of user control as Cover Flow on the iPhone OS.
Well the problem has only occurred one time since I have upgrades from 8.2.1 to 9.0.1. Plus I learned that every month week or two, I probably need to verify and repair permissions on the hard drive on Mac OS X. iTunes 9.0.1 has fixed the problem and 8.0 had a lot of bugs and problems that thankfully was fixed.

Any ideas on how to fix ipad after the new iOS 7 update? My battery will not charge, my ipad is hot to the touch, the iTunes Store won't open, and my messages on Facebook aren't showing up when I chat and pintrest won't pin to my boards.
If you have all your music on the cmputer then i would connect up my phone uncheck the Sync Music option and apply.
This should take all the music off your phone .Then you can resync the music back on to it.
If this doesn't work maybe a restore to factory settings and start from scratch is the way to go -

After an iTunes update failed to install, iTunes won't open and I get the following two windows. Program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer, and iTunes not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (windows error 126) When I reinstall I get the same messages and ITunes won't open.

ITunes software won't open with link to iTunes U
Our campus uses Blackboard to authenticate users into iTunes U. Until now, we haven't had any trouble with users being able to access their content in iTunes U.
We have one user who clicks the link to iTunes U, and the iTunes software does not open, and our school's iTunes U is not loaded. As this is the only way for our users to access iTunes U, that's a problem.
I don't think it's the Blackboard Building Block we're using that is causing the problem -- nobody else seems to be having any trouble. I've asked the user to try some other iTunes links that would pop open iTunes, to see if the same problem happens.
The user is using Firefox.
Any suggestions?blepharisma,
Have you found a solution to this issue?

HELP: iTunes crashes (won't open), and Apple website crashes Explorer too
I've had an iPod for years, and have 16G + of music in my library on my old desktop computer. That computer is EXTREMELY slow, however.
I got an iPhone last week. So since I want more ease of music access, I thought I'd install iTunes on my laptop (which is so much faster), and move my music from my old desktop.
Last weekend, I only got around to installing iTunes on my laptop, and authorizing that computer so I could download some apps.
This weekend, I tried to open iTunes on my old desktop computer again, so I could start the process of moving my music library to the laptop. I was surprised to discover that iTunes won't even open anymore, at all. I just get the standard error message, "iTunes 8.0 experienced a problem and had to close." Believe me, I've restarted the computer several times, and it still won't open. I've run Norton, and there are no viruses identified either.
So, I thought I should go to the Apple website and download the program again. Not possible! Anytime I even try to go to www.apple.com or www.apple.ca or www.itunes.com/downloads, my Explorer browser window crashes. In fact, it crashes any and ALL open browser windows, not just the one that I typed an apple URL into.
I'm fortunate that can use my laptop to access this apple forum, or I'd really be at a loss.
Is this happening because I authorized my laptop? It seems more like an evil Apple-hating Microsoft virus somehow...
What can I possibly do to get my iTunes library (all 16 gigs of it) to my laptop, WITH all my carefully organized playlists, etc?Sounds a lot like a virus I had on my desktop..it finally forced me to wipe everything and go with the laptop.
However you could try to download Firefox, or another browser, and then try to log onto Apple. Maybe its completely an Explorer issue? Cant hurt to try at least. Firefox is quick and free to download.
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
And no, I am not one of those "Firefox is the answer to everything" people...you could try the new Google Chrome browser as well.

Good luck..I know how frustrating this is. I hope something works. -
ITunes won't open, and doesn't give any error message
Whenever I try to open iTunes (7.0.2, if that matters), my system tray shows a little yellow triangle with an exclamation point, and iTunes fails to open. The icon shows no message when I hover over it, and if I click on it, it vanishes. I deleted iTunes, reinstalled it, restarted my computer, and all that jazz, but the problem remains absolutely unchanged. I tried creating another user account and opening iTunes on that account, and it works, but obviously, abandoning my current account is not an ideal solution. I don't have the first clue what's going on, or why, or what the yellow triangle icon is. I need help!
Windows XPAre you having the same problem with Quick Time? I was having the same problem with both Itunes and Quick Time, and I removed and reinstalled, and it was still happening, until I notices that I had an older version of Quick Time still in the program files. After I removed the older version of Quick Time, and then reinstalled Itunes, the problem disappeared.

ITunes store won't open and iPod won't sync after I updated to 10.5 on Windows 7
So I recently upgraded iTunes to 10.5 on my Windows 7 running PC and the minute I did that the store would no longer open up. I get the "accessing" bar and it moves about halfway and then stops and disappears, then leaves my screen with a bunch of boxes and blue links instead of album pictures and what not (and the links don't work either). I also tried to sync my iPod and this will not work either. It goes through the "preparing to sync" mode and then makes it to "step 2 of 4" and freezes just after starting that, never to start again. I've even left it running for hours while I went to sleep or to work just to see if it would kick into gear but the bar never moves again. I've already configured the firewall to accept iTunes and I've done the whole uninstall/reinstall bit about 10 times, all to no avail. I've tried moving back down to iTunes 10.4.1 and it works great, except that my iPod already got the update for 10.5 to go through so it will no longer work with iTunes 10.4. I've been talking to a Tech guy for the past 2 weeks and we have tried a ton of things and nothing works, so if any of you out there have a solution please PLEASE help. This is really driving me insane.
I have had the exact same problem since allowing the 10.5 version of itunes to update on my computer. I spent over 1 hour on the phone with the apple support team, and they couldn't fix it. After they couldn't fix it, they tried to blame my Norton 360 security, even though I tried to explain to them that it is a Windows error, and it even happened after I deinstalled the security software. (and yes, disabled the Windows firewall.) I ended up deinstalling all apple programs, quicktime, bonjour, and itunes from my computer. I then googled "itunes apps. downloads" and found a website where I could download the previous version of itune for free. it's not ideal, but I was stuck in a situation where I couldn't use my ipod at all. I can survive like this until Apple realizes that we're not all crazy, and fixes the problem.

ITunes Store won't open and closes whole of iTunes.
For a while now, whenever I click to go onto the iTunes store from iTunes itself, a window pops up saying itunes has stopped working correctly and it's being closed.
First I repaired iTunes, which didn't work, then I uninstalled and reinstalled, still nothing works. I waited until an update and still no fix.
It loads halfway, and then the message pops up.
I can't seem to find someone with the same problem or a solution anywhere and any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you!For a while now, whenever I click to go onto the iTunes store from iTunes itself, a window pops up saying itunes has stopped working correctly and it's being closed.
Do you have a Radeon-based video card or display adaptor in the PC?
If so have you worked through the following document in the course of your troubleshooting to date?

ITunes 10 won't open - ''This copy of iTunes is corrupted or is not ...''
When I try to open iTunes 10 it displays the message ''This copy of iTunes is corrupted or is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes.'' I've downloaded and installed it the same way I did all the other updates which have worked fine. ..... What do I do??
Same thing here. I downloaded iTune 10 (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/) from the support section of the apple website (http://www.apple.com/support/), installed it and it worked!
good luck! -
IPhoto won't open and keeps giving me an error message.
Hi
My iPhoto won't open on my Macbook Pro.
All my software is up to date (OS X Yosemite 10.10.2) and there are no programme updates in my App Store.
I have deleted and reinstalled iPhoto, switched my Mac off and nothing helps.
In a similar thread people said to move iPhotoLock.data to my Desktop but that didn't work either.
Any help would be really appreciated! Thanks

ITunes Store won't open and iTunes goes incredibly slow when i connect my iPod
Hadn't used iTunes for a while until a few weeks ago. Updated it but now when i try to open the iTunes Store the loading bar gets less than halfway before it gives up and just goes to a blank screen with "iTunes Store" written on it. Also when i connect my iPod it shows up under devices but if i try to click on it everything just goes really slow, no matter how long i leave it it won't bring up the page showing the details of my iPod. I emailed the support people about it but they've been no help at all so far, just wondering if anyone had any advice.
I also have the same problem except when you sync your iPod part. I also just see a blank screen on iTunes Store, even on the home page even if my connection is good. I just had this problem after I updated my Java program on my laptop (because they just released an updated version) so went updated mine. Since then, I only see a blank screen on iTunes, but when you search for a certain app for a game, it will show as normal, but when you go to the Apps tab and scroll down and click Games, it will load up but will only give you a blank screen. What's going on? Please have this fixed ASAP.

After running update, itunes store won't open and then itunes closes
I have tried reinstalling and changing some settings as advised on other forums. The last couple of updates have all gone badly with me investing hours in repairs. If I didn't have an IPhone I would have already abandoned itunes - but I am stuck. I am at 5 hours of wasted time on this one issue. Please help!

Additionally, I do not have the option of changing my DEP settings on my non-admin log ins. The real frustration here is that everything worked FINE before the update. Any ideas on how to fix this?
