ITunes: song offered/wrong country selection

Hello,
I offered from iTunes Store a song to someone but I didn't selected the right country so, the country was wrong and download is impossible.
How to solve this, when the present is already purchased?
Thanks and regards,
Arno

Correct. Your credit balance would not be transferrable to another country's iTunes Store, and you would not (by the terms of use) be able to continue to use the Australian iTunes Store. So it's probably not practical for a single song. Either get someone with an Australian iTunes Store account to gift you the song, or pick it up on CD (which is expensive for a single song, but less expensive than buying an entire gift card for just one track).
Regards.

  • ITunes match matched songs to wrong language

iTunes match has matched some of my Indian songs to wrong language. Many of the big budget movies these days are releasing their movies in several languages at the same time and making them all available to purchase from iTunes store. When I ripped a CD I already had, iTunes matched some of them into a wrong language. Name of the song is still showing original, but the actual track is in wrong language.
Is there any way I can force iTunes to re-match?

Songs that are ineligible because they are too low of a bit rate can be converted to a higher bit rate by right-clicking and creating either an AAC or MP3 version.  Mind you, the quality will NOT improve; in fact it could degrade a little, but the songs will indeed be re-encoded at a higher bit rate.  Once iTunes recognizes that they are encoded at a high enough bit rate, they will no longer be ineligible. And they greatest part is, if they are matched by iTunes, then not only will you have them in the iCloud, but you will be able to delete the original song files (do not select the option to delete them from iCloud) and re-download the matched songs from iTunes in far greater quality.

I am having a problem when I try to select a photo or itunes song in Imovie or other programs. I get a window with grey lettering that says: "Open Itunes to populate this list" or "Open iphoto to see photos from your iPhoto library in this list.  I have tried relaunching programs and nothing appears. Seemed to start happening a while back after one of my system upgrades.

After a a lengthy conversation with Apple Tech. ($20), my problem seems to be solves. The Iphoto problem solved by trashing the plist file. The Itunes was more involved. We had to create a new Itunes folder and import the files into the new folder; and then import the playlists.

As I said - look whether your original file is damaged or not. If not, I wouldn't change it and find out what in your system makes it sound like it's clipping.
Good sound file, with volume maxed out. No need to change anything.
The same song clipped - no chance to repair.

  • Can I purchase songs from many country iTunes Stores ?

If I want to purchase songs from diffrent country's stores, can I do that? And if I can, can I play it on my iTunes and/or my iPod?

Unless you can show some form of residency you cannot buy from another country's store. The question on cross store purchasing is asked frequently so I'll just quote the most complete answer (courtesy of Dave Sawyer) from the many given:
In order to buy from any given country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
    a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
    b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
.......this is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice. And this also applies to all the legal download stores that carry major-label content, not just the iTMS.

  • Find which country store was an iTunes song purchased from?

I found some old purchased iTunes songs on my laptop and I'm curious how can I find out which country/store that I bought them from. Since I'm an iTunes music collector so I have a lot of different iTunes accounts for many foreign stores. So I just want to ask if it's possible for me to find out which store I bought a song from. Thanks!

Which countries have you been to and purchased songs whilst you've been there ? You can view your purchase history via your computer's iTunes, that will show you the currency : See your purchase history in the iTunes Store - Apple Support.

  • How come some of my itunes songs have a "check mark" and ones that do not say the file cannot be found.

How come some of my ITunes songs have a check mark next to them and the songs that do not have it, I receive a error message " the file could not be found"  The songs are on my Ipod and Ipad2.  Is my itunes library screwed up?  Can someone tell me how to clean up my library?

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes.

  • Problem Solved: iTunes Songs Cutting Off

    Hello Everyone,
I just thought I'd share my knowledge with you all. Granted, my solution may not be your solution but I'm putting it out there for everybody to know.
I was on the phone with Apple iTunes Tech Support for 2 hours going through a really lengthy process of trying to figure out the solution when my host and I finally realized that the solution was a simple one (maybe not, if you have more than a dozen songs having this problem). The problem was that some of my iTunes songs, for no reason at all, were being cut off at the end (usually around a minute or so left in them) and then my iTunes would start playing the next song (unless I had it on the "loop one" setting and then it would loop back to the beginning of that song). The problem, it seems, stemmed from a corrupted song link to the actual file.
    The solution:
    1) Open a Finder Window
    2) Click on the Music tab
    3) Click on the iTunes folder
    4) Go into your iTunes Media (or iTunes Music) folder
    5) Click on the Music Folder within
    6) Click on whichever Artist the song comes from and then its Album
    7) Check to make sure you have the song in there
    8) Open iTunes
    9) Delete the problem song from your iTunes application (but make sure to click the option that says Keep File)
    10) Click on the same song in your Music Folder and open it in iTunes
The link should now be fixed and your song should play without complications. You'll have to do this with every song that has this problem but at least it will work. By the way, reinstalling your iTunes doesn't fix the problem because it's the link that's corrupted, not the application nor the song, so you'll have to do it this way.
    Hope this helps!
    - Hannah (Failisse)

Does the track play correctly in Quicktime Player?  If it does then it is an iTunes issue.  If it doesn't then it is possible the file was not completely downloaded, or is corrupt.  If you believe it is corrupt:
If you are in a country where re-downloading is possible (check this with iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match Availability by Country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085), delete the track (and the original file) and download again (Downloading [using iOS or computer] past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519).  See tips on downloading in https://discussions.apple.com/message/19097773, especially unchecking the "Allow Simultaneous Downloads" box in the downloads tab of iTunes.
Select the store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.

  • ITunes won't let me select show duplicate items on my iPhone 4s.

I can see the option but it is in faded font color and I cannot select it. Pressing shift, or alt, or control does nothing to remedy the problem.
I'm using an iPhone 4S, under the most current iOS (7.1)
Thanks in advance for any help.

Confused? I don't think so...I am now, about whether or not I'm confused.
I wish to remove duplicate songs from the music selection on my iPhone. While in iTunes, I select the iPhone and go to "On This Phone". From there I go to "View>Show Duplicate Items". But the option is hollow-texted, as in:
    Show Statusbar
    Show Sidebar
    Show Duplicate Items
    Video Playback
    Show Visualizer
When I click on Show Visualizer, nothing happens. I need help to remedy this situation. I posted the topic in the iPhone section, as I don't care about duplicate songs in my iTunes, just the phone itself.
Where am I going wrong here?

  • Different iTunes songs simultaneously

    To those of you interested...
Some time ago we had a discussion on how to play different iTunes songs simultaneously via a network. The link http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=6768936#6768936 is now archived. I'm unable to post a reply there, therefore I post a new message to inform you of my latest findings.
First of all, my (private) network setup consists of a wired (Cat 5E cable) Ethernet network, with multiple plug-in outlets throughout the house. The network is connected through two Linksys SLM2024 Gigabit switches.
One of the LAN ports of my Aiport Extreme Base Station is plugged in into one of the switches. (The Airport Extreme's WAN port hooks up to my internet ADSL modem). The Airport Extreme acts as DHCP server, handing out (reserved) IP addresses to the various clients.
Two of those clients are Airport Express Base Stations (more to follow). They are set up in Bridge Mode, to extend the range of the wireless network that is broadcasted by the Airport Extreme. They broadcast the same SSID as the Airport Extreme. (You may want to know that here in the Netherlands most houses are made from stone, brick and/or concrete, and that means less wireless range than advertised from the base stations.)
Both the Airport Expresses are also hooked up to stereo systems, with AirTunes enabled.
What if I want to stream a song to multiple speakers? Easy, click the "Multiple Speakers" button in iTunes (lower righthand side), and select "Multiple Speakers" from the fold-out menu. Select the desired speakers (AirTunes Airport Expresses) by clicking the tick boxes.
Now, what if I want Song A in the Living Room and Song B in the Kitchen? Still easy, but you would need two computers running iTunes. Same procedure as above on each computer.
Can this go wrong? Basically not, Apple took good care of this. When you select a speaker on the second iTunes computer, which is already connected to the first iTunes computer, you get a warning message stating "The remote speaker 'Kitchen' is currently used by someone else. Please select another speaker from the menu at the bottom of the iTunes window" and you're unable to connect, unless you delect the 'Kitchen' speakers from the first iTunes computer.
    So far, I'm (very) satisfied.
There's a few more things to find out:
    1. What happens if I add more Airport Expresses? I'm planning at least 2 more. Don't expect it to be a problem. The only hiccup I can think of is the selection of the wireless channels. Currently channel selection is automatic, with channels 1, 5 and 11 being used (you want them as far apart as possible). I may run into inteference here, but then again I may have enough coverage to use one of them only in AirTunes mode and disable the wireless function.
    2. I would like store the iTunes library in a central location, either on a server or on a Network Attached Storage (NAS). I wonder if it's possible if two iTunes clients (computers) connect to the same library.
    Hope this is helpful.
Any suggestions, tips and remarks are welcome.
    Cheers!

Click here and follow the instructions even if you're using Mac OS X 10.5, or split the library into pieces which are small enough to fit on the drive.

  • Itunes:  Songs stop suddenly

I got Problems  playing Itunes Songs:  Quite  a  few  songs   in  my  Itunes  Database  are suddenly interrupted  and  the  next song  is being  played. It always stops at the same point. Whats wrong? I have  OS 10.5.8 and Itunes 10.63  installed

Delete the problem tunes including the original files when prompted, then redownload them using the purchased option from the QuickLinks section of the iTunes store.

  • I cannot access iTunes songs showing in external hard drive

I recently closed my dropbox account and moved its content to an external hard drive. This included iTunes songs  and now the songs and related albums no longer show in iTunes when I open it up, although I can see the individual songs (but not in albums)  in the external hard drive.  There are a limited number of albums still showing when I open up iTunes but they are albums I have recently added to iTunes.
However I can see the albums and tracks in the iTunes media folder on my Mac internal hard drive, but they do not show up when I actually open up Itunes.I have followed advice found on this website and have tried to move my iTunes folder to the external drive so all the music is in one place, but i keep getting an 'error code 50' message appearing.  I have also tried to select the individual songs on the hard drive and move them to the media folder but there are no 'albums' to move them into and they just sit there as individual songs.  I have a macbook air which is one year old and a WD My Passport ultra 1TB external hard drive.  I am using OSX version 10.9.5 with 8GB of memory.  As you can tell from my endeavours, I do not really understand the way iTunes works and it may be that the various songs and albums in the media folder need to be organised in a different way perhaps, so that they are visible when I open up iTunes?
As I have lots of space on my external hard drive and am running out of space on my Mac hard drive, ideally I would like all my iTunes folders to be held on my external drive, as it is always plugged in to my Mac, and for iTunes to be 'pointed' to the hard drive.   Any advice please?
    Thanks
    Elizabeth

All kinds of things going on.
About the error code.  Do you men "50" or do you mean "-50"?  It is critical things get reported exactly here.  Error -50 is a very unhelpful generic communications error with a number of possible causes.  Something between the drive to which you are downloading and the drive from which it is all coming is not working correctly, with probably dozens of possibilities.  I guess one simple possibility is if this is a brand new drive it likely came formatted for Windows use and needs reformatting for Mac.

Basic workings of iTunes.  When you add a file to iTunes it puts the file in a specific location designated in you Media Folder preferences setting and makes a note in a database file (library.itl) of where it put it.  When you want to play the track iTunes looks up where the file should be, goes there and plays that file.  iTunes does not inventory its media folder for new additions.  For iTunes to recognize tracks they have to be added to iTunes either by importing, dragging to iTunes, or dragging to the Automatically Add to iTunes folder.  If files added to iTunes are later moved by you in Finder, particularly to another drive, iTunes loses track of them completely and give you a broken link indicator " ! ".

I don't know exactly how Dropbox works but basically by moving all your files instead of letting iTunes do the relocating you have broken all the links to your older files in iTunes.  You can either repair them one by one, by one, by one....  or you can rebuild your library, or essentially create a new library and start over again (you did read those links I provided didn't you?).  If you are prepared to start over, hold down the option key while starting iTunes.  Create a new library on the external drive.  Drag all your media files to the Automatically Add to iTunes folder in the iTunes folder on that drive.

  • Is there a way to rename multiple Itunes songs at the same time

Is there a fast way to rename multiple Itunes songs at once, instead of renaming one song inside Itunes at a time? For example; So I can select multiple songs at once and rename each songs Genre all at the same time? Without needing to rename song by song?
    Casey Computer

You can click on multiple songs, and change info in the Get Info > Info screen.  This applies to most fields EXCEPT Name.  iTunes has never allowed the simultaneous change of Name of multiple songs, presumably on the grounds that it is usually an error to do so.
Regarding Genre, yes, this can be changed for multiple songs at once, using the Info tab of Get Info.
