Itunes song purchasing issues

When trying to purchase a song, A pop-up box says there's a billing issue with a previous purchase, and asks for my password. The password is never accepted. It is the same pw I use to login etc.I've tried even changing pw's with no joy. I have an ipod touch gen4 with the original ios. I've tried upgrading the ios in the past, and that just created way too many problems. Anyone else run into this issue when trying to make purchases?
Thanks

Since some of your songs play correctly here are some suggestions.
Make sure your iTunes and Quicktime are up to date.
Then deauthorize, and reauthorize your computer for your iTunes Store account.

  • ITunes song purchases will not transfer to my new computer

31 of my iTunes song purchases have been refused transfer privileges over to my new MacMini. Doesn't matter if I use my backup or transfer directly from my other computer (iMac running Tiger). The MacMini is authorized and all of my other purchases transferred with no difficulty. The message is 'this computer is not authorized for these, etc, etc. I used IMToo software to copy playlists from my iPhone to the MacMini but those 31 songs would not transfer--same message. Help is appreciated from polite forum users. Many thanks.

Continuing dilemma...I have discovered that all songs disallowed on my current computer were purchased with 2 old iTunes accounts I no longer use. They are (mylogon)@aol.com and (mylogon)@comcast.net. These songs had all been purchased prior to my previous new computer purchase (a powermac) and there was no issue transferring them over. The problem seems to have occurred because of the move from OS 4x to OS 6x--that is, I had been using Tiger, then jumped up to Snow Leopard. Perhaps my iTunes Library was apparently not as updated as I had thought. I was able to load songs over from both my iPhone and iPod and I believe I have recovered all but 4. The song files are in my system but iTunes won't permit me to play them without logging into the old accounts--which I can't do any which way the message goes. Help? Comments?

  • I am unable to download itunes songs purchased on my iphone, I receive an download error tap to retry I have tried hit the pause button to try to retstart and am still unable to download the song on my iphone

I am unable to download itunes songs purchase on my iphone. I have recieve a download error that says tap to retry.  I do that and keep receiving the same error.  I have read some responses to try to pause the download once it is downloading and also to restart the phone, but neither have worked for me,

If you really are running OS 10.4.6 you have a long way to go!
So, assuming you are not, what version of OS X do you have?

  • My pc crashed and erased my itunes songs purchased from the itunes store. How do i get that content back without having to purchase them again?

my pc crashed and erased my itunes songs purchased from the itunes store. How do i get that content back without having to purchase them again?

I have somewhat of a similar problem. After iTunes last update, I am missing some of my purchased files of music, ringtones, and TV shows. Possibly movies, but just thought of that and did not look yet. Seems everytime there is an iTunes update, something happens, but usually an easy fix by just deleting music files from CD's that I loaded onto iTunes and no longer recognized after an update and reload from the hard drive. This time I do not have a current back up of all the music, ringtones, and tv shows I have purchased.
So I am also wondering how can I redownload purchases without being charged when there is no file left on the hard drive. It just stays listed in iTunes though.

  • How can I authorize itunes songs purchased with ID that no longer exists?

I bought an Macbook Pro and am transferring all the songs I bought from
my old laptop to the Macbook. Some of the songs were purchased from
itunes using two different apple IDs that don't exist anymore. I tried to
authorize the Macbook to play these songs using the old ID and password but it
doesn't work (I'm pretty certain I have the correct passwords but it is possible they are wrong). Please don't tell me I can't listen to these songs
anymore. Is there anything I can do?
    Joseph

I have exactly the same problem! When I try to play a song purchased under an old Apple ID (before I moved to Japan), I get: "This computer is not authorized to play "(song title)". Would you like to authorize it? To play this song you must authorize this computer to play songs purchased using the account "(my OLD Apple ID)". You may authorize up to 5 computers for each account."
I tried to authorize the song using my OLD Apple ID and password, but it didn't work because that Apple ID no longer exists. The weird thing is that after trying to authorize a song with my NEW Apple ID, the computer tells me I have successfully authorized it but then the song won't play and I get the same Authorize Computer dialogue box popping up again when I click the play button or double-click the song title.
    It's VERY frustrating!

  • My iTunes song purchased has disappeared

I just bought and downloaded a song from iTunes within the last two hours. The song downloaded and appeared in my library, plain as day. I exited the program.
I just now re-opened iTunes and the song purchase is gone. No one else has had access to my computer. I did not delete it from the library and it is not in the recycle bin. I checked for available downloads and there is nothing.
It has literally disappeared. How do I go about getting it back? I'd really like to know if this - a purchase disappearing - is something that has occurred with any of you. I've never had this happen in the years I've been purchasing music through iTunes.
    Thanks.

Did you check the other pages of your screen? You can also use the search function by swiping the screen from the bottom down and if iTunes is not restricted, it will tell you the location on your phone. If you have set up restrictions, disable them in Settings/General/Restrictions. Apps that are restricted can't be found on any screen and stay hidden. You can't delete default apps.

  • Find which country store was an iTunes song purchased from?

I found some old purchased iTunes songs on my laptop and I'm curious how can I find out which country/store that I bought them from. Since I'm an iTunes music collector so I have a lot of different iTunes accounts for many foreign stores. So I just want to ask if it's possible for me to find out which store I bought a song from. Thanks!

Which countries have you been to and purchased songs whilst you've been there ? You can view your purchase history via your computer's iTunes, that will show you the currency : See your purchase history in the iTunes Store - Apple Support.

  • ITunes songs purchased on iPod missing! help!

I purchased fours songs on my 16GB iPod Touch (a new Touch with updates included) using the iTunes application on my iPod. I've listened to them and they were fine.
Later, I synched the iPod to the iTunes (7.6.??) on my home computer (Windows XP, 2). I recall synching the "purchased" song folders. Now the 4 songs I purchased using my iPod are gone. They're erased, it appears, from the iPod. I don't know were they are or if they can be recovered. I have tried to become knowledgeable about my iPod, reading a guide book, web articles, etc. But I did not see this topic covered and didn't know to be cautious.
    So here are my questions:
    1) Is it possible the songs are still there lurking on my iPod (I don't see them when I look under "purchases" in the Music folder)? How to get them?
    2) How to avoid losing songs purchased on the iPod in the future?
    3) Will I be able to download them again without having to buy them again?

If they aren't shown on your iPod, then they aren't located on it.

Once you have chance to connect your iPod to the computer and if you have just purchased music from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store, then I would recommend you to transfer them immediately to your computer. Here's how to do so: [Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305465].

You can contact iTunes Customer Support. Use [this form|http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/browser> or the receipt received via e-mail. However you must understand that they have all right to deny a re-download, once it's responsibility to back up. Also the iTunes Store Terms of USe clearly states: *"All Sales are final"* .
    Hope this helps!

  • ITunes song purchase not playing

I bought a song from iTunes, and when I tap to play it it goes onto the album artwork and pause/play button and then instantly goes to the next track, without making a sound. I can't delete the song directly from my iPhone, and it doesn't show up on my iTunes purchases, I can re-download it but I don't want to be charged again, any suggestions? Thanks

Try these steps to fix the issue:
    1) Delete the songs that aren't playing from your iTunes library.
    2) Download the songs again from the iTunes Store. For information about downloading past purchases, see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

  • ITunes song purchase won't load on iPhone

I have purchased 2 songs from iTunes that downloaded just fine in my account however when I attempt to load them into my iPhone, I get an error message saying 'Download error.  Tap to retry.'  Any advice for how to fix this?

To clarify my post a bit, my iPhone 4S syncs and plays music as expected.
This issue is on my wife's iPhone 4S.  iTunes says that the music is synchronized, but when she tries to play it, none of the files are on her device, only the metadata.  So, the song loads and then skips to the next song, like 1 every 1/2 second - all the way to the end of the album or playlist.
I've tried rebooting her device, removing and reloading all her music and installing the latest updates, all to no avail.
I don't understand why this would be happening.  Is this Apple's way of telling us that it's time to get new phones?  ;-)
Seriously, our iPhone 4S's are past Apple's support window, so we're kind of on our own unless I pay $19 a pop, which, in the long run may actually be worth it, but makes me cringe to think that I'm paying for something again.
    Cheers,
    Keith

  • HT201359 My MasterCard bill for my iTunes song purchases are always moreo than what I bought. I only buy one song at a time or buy new levels for candy crush at .99 or 1.29 for songs, but there are times when my mc bill shows iTunes bought for 7.39 or 6.2

I use iTunes for songs and to buy more levels on candy crush. My bill is to MasterCard, but each month my iTunes is for more than what I think I purchased. I recently had to change my mc number. It was a new number so I changed it on my account. When I buy a song I get an email but sometimes my bill shows for more than .99 or 1.29, it might show for 7.00 or more and when I call the number on the iTunes account I can never speak to an actual person. What should I do?

Sometimes iTunes clumps bills together... look inside the email to see if there is a list of what you purchased. If you notice when you make a purchase it never comes out right away.. .its sometimes a week later before it comes out or you get an email. If during that week you purchased other items itunes may bill those together.

  • How to resolve itunes app purchase issues in India

I purchased a package from DailyYoga app which I got billed for via itunes, but the package is not enabled on my ipad after 3 days of when the purchase amount showed up in my credit card. I've contacted the DailyYoga folks directly via their website as well as from my email, and haven't received any replies after 2 days. I've been trying to escalate this via itunes support, but I find that online support isn't available for India, so how do I formally complain and escalate this to Apple support in India so I can move towards resolution of the particular issue?

  • ITunes song purchases made using iPhone not visible in iTunes on desktop

My wife purchased some music on her iPhone 4S, and wants to transfer it to her Nano for running.  When I launch iTunes on my desktop and sign in as her, the only music showing is one of my songs that I downloaded for free.  Her music shows up on her 4S, and even on the 5S we just activated today, shich is also associated with her apple ID.  Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Have you downloaded the music onto that computer from the store or copied it from her phone ? If you use the same iTunes account then you should be able to redownload it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page :
If you don't share the same account then you could login to her account and redownload it, but that might tie the computer to her account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627
You can also connect her phone to the computer and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy those songs over. But if that isn't the computer that she syncs the phone then you should turn off auto-sync first : Edit > Preferences, Devices tab, 'Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically' tickbox.
If that will be the computer that she will be syncing to then this page for syncing to a new computer may also be useful : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141

  • Can't find itunes song purchased

I purchased a song from itunes. It appears in purchased, and also in my library, but when I go to play it - it says can't locate file. When I go to get info it is listed in file://localhost/G: etc but it is not on my G:directory.

Hi Katrina, my hard drive is sectioned so I have C D E F G drives. I have actually sorted it out now, for some reason the info on the song gave G directory address, but the song wasn't where it said it was, so was unable to find it. I ended up doing a search and found it in a temp file on the C directory. So alls well that ends well. Thanks for taking the time to reply!
